by Mark Silva
"Too much?'' Wanda Sykes asked.
This, after one of her rougher jokes about radio's Rush Limbaugh, who gained some notoriety for repeatedly wishing failure upon President Barack Obama and his administration.
"Boy, Rush Limbaugh said he hopes this administration fails - like saying you hope America fails,'' Sykes said in her stand-up routine at the annual White House Correspondents Association dinner Saturday night in Washington.
"To me, that's treason,'' Sykes said. "He's not saying anything differently than what Osama bin Laden is saying. You know, you might want to look into this, sir, but I think maybe Rush Limbaugh was the 20th hijacker, but he was so strung out on Oxycontin he missed his flight....
"Too much?'' Sykes asked Obama, who sat with the poker face of someone who had drawn the Joker.
.
"You know you're laughing inside,'' she said, and she wasn't finished: "Rush Limbaugh - "I hope the country fails' - I hope his kidneys fail, how 'bout that... Water-boarding, that's what he needs.''
And she didn't stop with one of the Republicans whom Democrats want to paint as the spokesman of the GOP:
"Dick Cheney... He's a scary man,'' Sykes said. "He scares me to death. I tell my kids, I say,'Look, if two cars pull up. One has a stranger and the other has Dick Cheney, you get in the car with the stranger.'''
Sykes wanted to know, or maybe she didn't, whether she had crossed that certain comic line, gone too far, gone over the top. She went somewhere, for sure: Two days after the annual event, it is not so much the humorous lines that the president delivered in his debut at the correspondents' dinner that people are talking about, but rather a few out-there lines of the paid comedienne.
(Read on, here in the Swamp, see the comedienne's Limbaugh and Cheney lines in the second video below, and see the jokes on Obama and Bush in the first video above, thanks to C-SPAN.)
Sykes spread her humor around, targeting the past administration as well as the present.
Cheney may be speaking out about Obama, as he did again on the Sunday talk show circuit, warning that Obama's policies on terrorism are leaving the nation vulnerable to attack, but former President George W. Bush sure has left town, Sykes suggested - sort of like a house guest who quietly slips out after breaking something.
"He knows how to leave town,'' she said of the former president. "I gotta say, he broke a lot of stuff,'' she said, turning to Obama. "You thought you were buying a new home, you got a fixer-upper.''
As for the favorite pastime of the nation's first African American president: ":First black president playing basketball - that's two steps forward, one step back.''
The photographers never catch Obama smoking, she said - but they keep catching him with his shirt off, and she, for one, is tired of looking at his "nipples.''
"Is there a beach at Camp David? What the Hell?''
Sykes kept getting asked "the same question'' about this appearance beforehand, she joked Saturday night: Was she nervous?
About what?
""If I do a great job, I get good press,'' she said. " If I screw it up royally, Tim Geithner will give me a bonus.''
She's getting some press all right.

Why hasn't that question been asked about Limpbag, over the years !! It is alright for him to skewer our elected officials, but not alright for a fellow entertainer, to skewer him !!? Was it too far, when he wished President Obama to fail, and by extension, America !! Where were all the outcries and breast-beatings, then. No, silently the " Republicans " were loving it, proven by their lack of criticism, of him !! So, put away your phony horror, at what Ms Sykes said, she was only lampooning a whale and she did a whale of a job !!

The GOP is so confused. We don't really want Limbags kidneys to fail.....just the conservative parts.

Let's see Cheney approved torture and Limbaugh supports that. Limbaugh wants a President to fail. And a comedienne should shut up? Just for bringing up (creating a controversy on which it can report) underlines why newspapers are failing. I guess this is the most important Washington story a staff of those who sucked up to keep their jobs can muster.

As usual, a hack whiney, annying high pitched comedian has nothing to say but liberal trash against a private citizen. Rush holds no office and thus is a private citizen with a contrasting opinion to the liberal machine. Then Sykes, pulls out the liberal playbook and once again spews what Rush never said. He does NOT want the country to fail....he wants the Obama, Pelosi, Reid et al socialist anti-Capitalist driven policies to fail. If any of you listened to him rather than count on the lies spewed by CNN, MSNBC, ABC, Air America, LAT, NYT, or other liberal ignited hate media you may understand why he said what he said.
Any of you who wants to trash Rush will have to do one thing. That is take for once have the guts for 3 hours and listen to him before you spout your unjustified hatred. He will reiterate his statement in contrast to the liberal driven Obama media about the word failure.
Where was Ms. Sykes when liberals like Carville, Stephenopololus, Dean, Schumer, Pelosi, and Reid et al wanted desperately on every liberal media outlet for GW Bush to fail? I see nothing more than more of the same in liberals...trash talking without any merit but to trash and abrase America, being bleeding heart apologist toward despots, assault our Constitution, our troops, our liberties, Capitialism, the desire to prosperity, and wanting less government control on our lives! You liberals want to spread the wealth around so those who sit on their rear ends can have their bills paid by those who work hard. Penalize freedom and take money from hard earners.
Sykes, you and the rest of your ilk like Garafalo are better served as the two bit annoying jesters and bafoons you are who have nothing more in your life than attack radio show hosts who want this country to succeed from the liberal assaults on freedom.
God Bless and Help our Country from this assault on Your Name! Bless our Troops and our brave veterans who have fought so hard at tremendous peril to preserve liberty and keep terrorism at bay.

Mark, please can the hype from the WH Democratic press gaga. It is just more of the same ole' bashing of anything conservative and a diversion from the serious issues. You might want to explain how the big deficit spending Obama and Dems. in Congress are going to deal with a 30% reduction tax revenues this April 15th. Seems like the budget may approach a whopping 2 trillion! Now, besides ditching the famous 95% tax refund/rebate/or whatever they call it, so famously hype in the election, now history (without much MSM objection to alert voters), what the new plan of the week? Informed voters and Swampers might like some serious articles. Are those greedy Republicans hiding their money from those who love to redistributed the wealth? Did all those patriotic tax loving liberals and Dems. hedge on their taxes again. Inquiring minds want to know, so let the Swamp bloodhounds loose!

That's all Hussein could get for his dinner? 3rd rate "comedian" Sykes? That speaks volumes.
Her comment about Rush Limbaugh being a 9/11 Hijacker (i.e. Mass-Murderer), is unconscionable. There they are up on the dais making jokes about 9.11. It's unbelievable. No, wanda, Rush Limbaugh is not a Muslim. All of the 9/11 Mass-Murderers were Mohammedans - did you know that? Also, I'll take waterboarding over beheading any day. That's the Mohammedan torture - beheading. Ah, no disparaging comments about that, I see. Status Quo for a Leftist.
I'll take Dick Cheney over 3rd rate "comedian" Leftist wanda sykes any day. My God, how low our country has fallen in the name of political correctness. And, of course a Leftist would call an American citizen's First Amendment rights "treason." Keeping speaking out, Rush - it's called "Freedom of Speech." Don't let any 3rd rate "comedians" drag you down.
Finally, I already know this won't be printed because most probably PC MoonBats are in charge of comments here. So, way ahead of you.

Hypocrisy at its best. CNN, USA Today, MSNBC, ect. are trumpeting Sykes performance while at the same time these same "News" organizations are upset with David Feherty's similar attempt at comedy regarding Pelosi and Reid. It seems like the MSM has to show just how biased they are on a daily basis. At this point I can simply not trust any MSM to report anything but the Liberal or Democratic point of view. We have officially entered into a one-party system in full control with a propogandist media paving the way.

April 27 2009-Rush Limbaugh quotes an anonymous (or imaginary?) friend who believes Obama is terrorist attack number 2; Obama is the follow-up to 9-11.

Comedians like Wanda Sykes are almost literally a dime a dozen. They like to make headlines by being outrageous, but otherwise have as little relevance to everyday life as Baywatch does to Shakespeare. She belongs in the same category as Janeane Garofalo, who apparently can’t gain attention any other way than to play the race card by yelling “White Power” on stage at conservatives. Neither that nor calling Rush Limbaugh the 20th hijacker is witty, funny, or incisive. It’s at the same level of intellect as babies playing with their soiled diapers, and about as meaningful.

More LIES from Mark Silva. Mark, here is a challenge. Please post a link in which Rush Limbaugh "wished" failure for the Obama administration. In fact, since he "repeatedly wished" failure, please post all the links in which Limbaugh wished failure.
I also found it hysterical that Silva would use the "joke" about Air Force One buzzing New York. Somehow, if Bush had made such a joke, I would be willing to bet my mortgage that Silva and his Merry Loony Lefters would be calling it "insensitive," "stupid," "idiotic." Anyway, Mark, you have your work cut out for you: Post Limbaugh wishing for failure or post a comment that you lied. Somehow I don't think you will do either. Today's left wing hack journalists just drive by with their hits and liess.
Posted by: John D | May 11, 2009 10:19 AM
Went to far? Hmm, I don't know, maybe you should ask someone who has kidney failure. I know I sure think comedy that wishes someone to get a serious medical condition or die is fuuuuunnnnyy. Maybe for a follow up act, Ann Colter can wish Rachel Maddow to be hit by a bus and paralyzed. I'm sure that would be a great hit too in the press and with the president, don't you think?
Posted by: bailers | May 11, 2009 10:21 AM
Who is Wanda Sykes, never heard of her. I don't think Rush will lose any sleep over Wanda hoping his kidney's fail. It's all just razzle-dazzle for the driveby media and the Hollyweird set - although any reference to 9/11 to me by any commedian of any political affilliation is "too much". There are some things that should be off limits just as a matter of respect for the loss of human life.

The usual double standard in the commie media. Below the belt attacks on conservatives by liberals goes unreported or as "just part of the comedic theme." Meanwhile, any criticism of Obama made by Limbaugh or any other conservative, whether serious or in jest, is reported as treasonous by the same hypocrites.

More proof that the center is dead -- yes, the same sick kind of "humor on the square" was directed by rabid redstaters. The airamericans throw it back. Meanwhile we squander an opportunity to build new infrastructure (nuclear plants, roads to somewhere -- i.e., billions for a crosstown expressway rather than high speed rail to st. louis), run up historically high deficits, keep our schools on insane 3/4 year schedules and not pressure more kids into science/math tracks, and ignore the effect illegal immigration is having on the working class.
We'll get what we deserve.

Posted by: Houston | May 11, 2009 10:39 AM
Limbaugh said it on his radio show, and he explained it at CPAC. There is video of him saying it. Try some research before hurling insults, J.D.:
Limbaugh: I Hope Obama Fails
January 16, 2009
If I wanted Obama to succeed, I'd be happy the Republicans have laid down. And I would be encouraging Republicans to lay down and support him. Look, what he's talking about is the absorption of as much of the private sector by the US government as possible, from the banking business, to the mortgage industry, the automobile business, to health care. I do not want the government in charge of all of these things. I don't want this to work. So I'm thinking of replying to the guy, "Okay, I'll send you a response, but I don't need 400 words, I need four: I hope he fails." (interruption) What are you laughing at? See, here's the point. Everybody thinks it's outrageous to say. Look, even my staff, "Oh, you can't do that." Why not? Why is it any different, what's new, what is unfair about my saying I hope liberalism fails? Liberalism is our problem. Liberalism is what's gotten us dangerously close to the precipice here. Why do I want more of it? I don't care what the Drive-By story is. I would be honored if the Drive-By Media headlined me all day long: "Limbaugh: I Hope Obama Fails." Somebody's gotta say it.''
http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_011609/content/01125113.guest.html
At his closing speech at the CPAC conference, conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh doubled down on his widely-controversial claim that he wanted President Barack Obama to fail, insisting that he meant what he said, and chastising those who were critical of him.
"This notion that I want the president to fail, this shows you the problem we've got. This is nothing more than common sense and to not be able to say it? Why in the world would I want what we just described: rampant government growth, wealth that is not being created yet is being spent? What is in this, what is possibly in this that any of us want to succeed? Did the Democrats want the war of Iraq to fail? They certainly did. And they not only wanted the war in Iraq to fail they proclaimed it a failure.... They hoped George Bush failed. So what is so strange about being honest and saying I want Barack Obama to fail if his mission is to restructure and reform this country so that capitalism and individual liberty are not its foundation?"

Who cares if a joke goes too far, it is just a joke, get over it. Cheney is out there just trying to protect himself because he knows if someone goes down for the torture policy it is going to be him. I love how Cheney says Obama's policies are going to lead to another attack. Gee, I seem to recall it was the Bush/Cheney administration which allowed us to be attacked in the first place. So, whose policies were at fault? And don't give me the "we haven't been attacked since" line, because we were never attacked before, and haven't been attacked since, so it was an outlier.

I don't know what kind of "lawyer" you are, but logic apparently isn't one of your strong suits.
Yes, Rush is a "private citizen" who also happens to be a VERY public figure who has no problem skewering other "private citizens" such as Michael J. Fox, or anyone else he chooses to blast and ridicule.
Wanda Sykes is also a "private citizen" who has just as much right as Limbaugh to do the same to him that he does to everyone else.
If you really were a "lawyer" you would understand the concept of setting a precedent. Rush opened the door a long time ago -- you have to expect others to enter.
As far as Rush's statement about wanting Obama to "fail" -- he said exactly that, then tried to clean it up by saying he wanted Obama's POLICIES to fail. But either way you look at it, if Rush got his wish the end result would be exactly the same: he would be wishing the COUNTRY to fail, because if either Obama or his policies fail, then the country goes down with him.

I love seeing Republican victims whine, cry, moan and beg for apologies because they're not nearly as "brave" or self-assured as they try to fool themselves into thinking they are.
I think it's hilarious that these people want to come off as the independent, strong protectors of this country, but if they feel slighted, they're the first ones bleating and crying for an apology, as their very weak sensitivities have been harmed.
As for Mark Robbins, you have to be kidding me about "racist." But then again, I don't know if I should ascribe too much credibility to someone who isn't smart enough to realize that President Obama is not an Irishman...far from it. Just goes to prove my theory that "conservatives" can't handle words over four-letters long. That last name "Obama" is a real doozie to spell....

I can't believe the hate spewed in the name of freedom. Ms. Sykes thinks waterboarding a terriost is torture, but thinks nothing of aborting an innocent unborn child. Seems that she will do anything to get a laugh. Our President should not have belittled himself by laughing at such remarks. Not only did he belittle himself, he belittled the sacred office he swore to uphold.

Wayne says:
"So what was your opinion of the people screaming about the New Yorker cover with the satire of the Obamas? That was just humor as well, yet the Dem's got a lot of milage using the racist card, didn't they. "
There is one small difference that most of you types can't seem to grasp: The New Yorker was using race and stereotype to portray their "humor". Wanda Sykes was using actual statements and actions.
Mark Robbins says:
"Wanda Sykes' comedy was racist."
Really? Give us some examples. Because I have watched the entire video several times -- it is posted at my site -- and I just don't see it. Unless you have a problem with a black woman making a joke at a white man's expense being "racist". If that were the case, you would be "projecting".
Tom Switzer says:
"I hope to god the president's policies fail."

I am a conservative in the Orlando area (used to read you at the Sentinel) and generally liked Stewart, Colbert and SNL. Buy they have become too preachy for me. This is ALL about wishing a potentially terminal medical condition on another human being. You do not have to like anyone in the Republican party to see this is wrong. It is a sign of moral vacancy that the lefties here do not see any problem with Sykes statement that seems to imply it is okay to wish suffering on someone if you do not like them personally. Sykes aparently has no problem with it, the press has no problem with it, and the President doesn't seem to have a problem with it.
As the parent of a child that suffered a life-threatening medical condition, I am offended as a human being. Wanda Sykes is gutter trash as is her "humor". If people here cannot condemn her attempt to lower human dignity, then I must believe the same about them.

The party of "Barack the Magic Negro" has nothing worthwhile to say. They sat idly by while this and other racist barbs were lobbed at the President. And, now they're on this string crying about tame comments from Wanda Sykes that had nothing to do with Limbaugh's race. The fact remains that Rush was addicted to OxyContin, so what's the problem? She didn't comment on the fact that he allegedly takes Viagra or dropped out of school. She noted something that's a known fact. The man was on drugs.

As for Wanda Sykes? She's trashy. Pity she's the best Obama could get.

oden grube says:
"I can't believe the hate spewed in the name of freedom."
Hate? You dare talk about "hate"? Do you not listen to the hate and fear mongers ranging from Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Michael Savage et al, through to Dick Cheney and other lesser beings?
"Ms. Sykes thinks waterboarding a terriost is torture,"
Ms. Sykes, along with US and International law, historical events like the Nuremburg Trials where we actually tried and convicted Japanese and Germains for waterboarding, Vietnam, where we court marshalled our own troops for waterboarding, and -- wait for it -- Ronald Reagan whose DOJ prosecuted a Texas sheriff for water boarding. Even the Spanish, going back to the Spanish Inquisition considered the practice of waterboarding to be torture. It is only a handful of you people who think that "near drowning" (which is the same as "near death) is something akin to a spanking.
"[...]but thinks nothing of aborting an innocent unborn child."
Pardon me if I am wrong, but I don't think she even mention abortion, so how do YOU know what she thinks?
"Our President should not have belittled himself by laughing at such remarks."
Somehow I think that no matter what how our President had reacted, it would never have been good enough for you. Unlike the ever-shrinking number of you, MOST of us actually thought she was funny.
"he belittled the sacred office he swore to uphold."
That was in the oath he took?

Talk about double standards.
Liberals spew hate all the time, but they are given a pass. This is a perfect example.
If Bush laughed at a comedian's joke about hoping that someone's kidneys should fail, the media would be going BERSERK.
This is a good reason why many people have no respect for many liberals.

Tom Johnson said:
"Wanda Sykes, What a pathetic, small, hateful person. I pray that God will open her eyes."
Again, where is that rapture when you need it?
Didn't your "God" have something to say about judging other people? So far, the only real pathetic, small, hateful rhetoric seems to come from people on YOUR side.
I went through eight years of being told how much of a "traitor" I was or how "un-American" I was for disagreeing with the Bush/Cheney agenda. Many of you jerks advocated locking us into prison, or even deporting us. Hate merchants like Limbaugh, Hannity, Savage, and Ann Coulter belittled Democrats, Liberals, and Progressives for their views and opinions. And you still do.
Now all of a sudden WE are the ones spewing "hate"?
Unlike your opinion of us, I can only pity you.
Posted by: DJ Allyn | May 11, 2009 2:49 PM
The kidney comment might have gone a bit far but as far as the Oxycotin stuff, he's fair game. For all the stuff this guy has said about drug addicts, then for him to actually be one. He deserves whatever comes at him.

I can't believe what whiny crybabies repugs are. They remind me of the village idiot walking around poking people in the eye with a sharp stick, then crying "victim" when someone tells him to stop.
When are Bush and Cheney going to apologize to the American people for letting 9/11 happen on their watch?

Show me anywhere in the Constituion where it mentions "free market" or "capitalism". The opposite is actually true. The government has the right and obligation to "regulate commerce" for the general welfare of the citizens of the United States. That includes taxes to offset the luck of the prvielged, silver spoons, for the benefit of the real average hard working Americans.
Capitalism is based on greed, pure and simple. Greed is not what the founding fathers had in mind for our economy to be driven by. The exploitation of the working classes by the petulant wealthy must stop to return all our citizens to true freedom and opportunity for the American Dream.

Mark, here is Limbaugh's comments to Sean Hannity that sparked the whole "Limbaugh wants Obama to fail" media gasp:
http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_012209/content/01125108.guest.html
It's in the context. If Obama practices socialism and the U.S. government runs everything, then, yes, Limabugh wants that to fail. Limbaugh wants socialism to fail, he is very clear on that.
That is quite different than your constant portrayal and that of most of the media.
I do not want socialism to succeed either. As do most Americans.
Now, Geographically Ignorant BC, over the years I have posted repeated links that shows your ignorant belief that Cuba does not border the Gulf of Mexico is wrong. I, for the sake of old times, will do so again, even though I know it will do no good. Lefties cannot be educated, they are forever ignorant and forever unteachable. It's just one of those facts of life. Here ya go, BC:
http://1planet1ocean.org/expedition-to-cubas-gulf-of-mexico/
BC, here is a key element of this link:
HAVANA, CUBA - Final preparations are now underway for an August expedition to explore and map one of the least known areas of the Gulf of Mexico — Cuba’s northwestern coastal waters, including Cuba’s spectacular Los Colorados barrier reef.
As usual, the Left is clueless. Pretty typical.

White Sheets, (what an opening/post) now that could've been funny.
Obama going to a meeting with Sheets Byrd, and being introduced as the newest member (like Blazing Saddles standing in line), while doing lines of cocaine. With Pelosi, continually talking at a mirror, I did not lie, I did not lie, well I did but I did not lie. With Reid, standing by her without a mirror reflection. creepy.
Posted by: PG | May 11, 2009 3:43 PM
Mark, you also need to re-read the comments from Rush Limbaugh. He is explicitely referring to socialism. He wants socialism to fail in this country. From your own post: "So what is so strange about being honest and saying I want Barack Obama to fail if his mission is to restructure and reform this country so that capitalism and individual liberty are not its foundation?"
If anything is learned about all this though, is the apparent admission by Mark Silva and the Left that Obama's presidency is about making the U.S. a socialistic country. Limbaugh is very clear that if Obama steers this country away from capitalism and toward socialism, then he wants that to fail. The fact that Silva, the rest of the media and its friends on the Left are so hung on "Limbaugh wants Obama to fail," is pretty clear proof that, yes, Obama is a socialist and that is the change he wants for this country.

The left comparing their hate with Republican's principled speech is distorted. But you can't convince a distorted person about their problem, they have to be willing to conced their problem first before they can be corrected.
The left doesn't know where they're going and they want to take the rest of the country to the same place.
Posted by: Tom Bartlett | May 11, 2009 4:05 PM
The media condemned Don Imus for his statements!
The media praised Whoppi Goldberg for her statements about President Bush!
The media condemned David Feherty's statement regarding Pelosi and Reid!
The media praises Wanda Sykes for her statements!
President Obama laughs at her routine and the media says nothing.
I believe the media allows a double standard regarding outrageous statements.

wanda sykes (lowercase on purpose) is an idiot. Just like our Mohammedan "president" who bows to Saudi Mohammedan Barbarians. Hey sykes - I hope your liver fails, and every other organ, and your "career" as well. FYI: The 19 9/11 "Hijackers" were Muslims - Rush Limbaugh is NOT a Muslim. Get it? Only Islam commands "Kill the Infidels" - that's all of us non-Moslems, including you, sykes, or, are you a Mohammedan? The horror of this "dinner" - you treasonous imbeciles.

Posters Pat and Kathy are absolute idiots. People saying that Wanda Sykes' is geared toward thugs shows your intelligence. Of course you probably voted for Bush, twice. I don't expect you to know what you are talking about. www.youtube.com/watch?v=rglECgEACVA
That's a real ghetto audience you boneheads. That's the problem with republicans, talking out of behinds with really knowing who or what you are talking about. Just using a bunch of assumptions and stereotypes to make up your minds. But hey, why research when you can make assumptions. I understand using your brain is too hard.

Stings a bit, eh fella?
By the time Rush covers his massive butt to Hannity and even the CPAC he's in explanatory mode (just like you are). Miss Sykes, how dare you say such a horrible thing about Rush Limbaugh, yes he makes fun of others, but his statements are accurate, yours is vicious.
The only terrorist you where around is the one sitting in the white house and his thugs, typical for these kind of people. Focus on your own people, leave whites alone, we don’t want any part of your comedy because if whites made the statements you did, we would be called racist. I know where the racists are and you are one of them, that is a fact. Stick to facts.
I am writing FOX and asking them to have you removed as racists, maybe Al NOT SO Sharpton can help me.

@ Dave S
If the working class doesn't want to be exploited by the wealthy, they can start their own businesses and take on the risk of failure. If they want the security of a job without the risk then they deserve to be exploited. It is the reality that anyone who has worked and suceeded has learned. Yours is a philosophy of losers for losers.
BTW go on promoting Rush you brain dead libs. It just shows how shallow and mean spirited you are. I sure he is having a good time with your contorted support of a lame ghetto comic and the affirmative action figure.

PS: How about this....
President Obama just loves having meetings with Sen. Reid, because Reid is so white Barack can check to see if his tie isn't crooked. Ooh, now there's a word, crooked, that shouldn't be used around a Chicago Politician.

The best speaker in the Wanda slot I ever saw was Garrison Keilor.
He only makes fun of those Norwegian bachelor farmers.
There's a lesson in here somewhere.
But enough about Wanda.
The really interesting jokes were those told by the Prez on Rahm, Hillary, Cheney, Boehner, Biden.
Since he never engages in in personam attacks and never loses his cool, the only escape valve seems to be the license afforded by these satirical speechs, like this dinner and the Al Smith dinner.
I conclude that to be the subject of one of those little satirical jokes is, er, not a good thing.
If, that is, you credit the Irish saying, "half jesting, full earnest".

I used to like Ms Sykes until I found out that she would blurt out jokes about things that she does not even know. She should have listened to the Rush interview before she started blurting out trash about him. He wants socialism to fail not America. On top of that she has no right to wish Rush dead when she knows nothing about him. I will not be listening to her anymore.

"Miss Sykes, how dare you say such a horrible thing about Rush Limbaugh, yes he makes fun of others, but his statements are accurate, yours is vicious."
Of course, not unlike Rush making fun of Michael J. Fox, a man with a serious and debilitating illness. Rush got called out, plain and simple. He doesn't mind denigrating others, but when he's forced to deal with his own failings (i.e.-OxyContin abuse, corpulence, failing school), he can't handle it nor can his deluded followers.

I am apalled ( not for the first time) by Hussein Obama's actions. He just sat and laughed at what wasn't funny.
Windy Sykes was NOT funny..if she truly was, then why did she have to keep telling the audience something was funny. She got very few real laughs but she did get some hearty boos !
( yes, I know Windy uses Wanda but I prefer Windy for her). Republicans have NEVER made sport of 9-11 . We are the ones wanting to stop the terrorists while Demonrats want to offer them tea and cakes.

"Republicans have NEVER made sport of 9-11 . "
Bush playfully looked out the window and under the table for WMDs at a black-tie dinner. Everyone laughed heartily, despite the fact that the country went to war on the phony WMD premise. If that isn't making sport of a tragedy, I don't know what is.
