The White House press secretary already has given the White House press corps an "A" for its performance.
(Though that isn't the sort of approval the press seeks.)
But is the Obama White House trying to wash its hands of the press corps now?
Or is it just the press corps attempting to avoid the swine flu -- excuse us, H1N1 virus? President Barack Obama, after all, has advised everyone to wash their hands.
Whatever it is, the dispenser of wipes stationed in the press briefing room of the West Wing should not lead anyone to worry that any news coming out of there will be sanitized.

Now Mark, this is an "A+" report.

Actually, it’s lotion. You know, as in:
.
“It rubs the lotion on its skin. It does this whenever it is told.”
.
“... my family will pay cash. Whatever ransom you're askin’ for, they pay it.”
.
“It rubs the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again. Yes, it will, Precious, won't it? It will get the hose!”
.
“Okay... okay... okay. Mister, if you let me go, I won’t - I won't press charges I promise. See, my mom is a real important woman... I guess you already know that.”
.
“Now it places the lotion in the basket.”
.
Please! Please I wanna go home! I wanna go home please!”
.
It places the lotion in the basket.”

That is EXACTLY the sort of approval the press seeks. This current, Obama-cheerleading press, that is.
Gibbs' only mistake was to go public about awarding the "A". Because the press still likes to hide from the public the fact that they're biased.
