You've heard all these lines:
Washington is a sharp-elbowed kind of place.
The Republicans have a bone to pick.
What a long, strange trip it's been.
But sure enough, Hillary Clinton has stumbled on her way to the White House -- and this time, it's not elections we're talking about.
The broken right-elbow of the secretary of state, suffered yesterday in a fall leaving Foggy Bottom en route to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, already has scuttled an appearance with actress Angelina Jolie today. And surgery is likely next week.
And truth is, a painful break such as this is no laughing matter.
It's not the funny bone.
The Swamp wishes the secretary a swift recovery..
