The Swamp

by Mark Silva

Starting, well, now, just about every critical comment that a Republican with national aspirations has about President Barack Obama will be measured for its 2012 potential.

So it goes with Sarah Palin, who tells FOX News Channel's Sean Hannity that she is "quite disappointed, quite frustrated'' with Obama's lack of control over government spending. The Alaska governor and 2008 Republican candidate for vice president says this of the president's talk about the economy:

Palin and Hannity.,jpg.jpg

"A lot of this is wrapped in good rhetoric but we're not seeing those actions,'' Palin tells Hannity, for the Hannity show airing on FOX at 9 pm EDT. "And this many months into the new administration, quite disappointed, quite frustrated with not seeing those actions to rein in spending, slow down the growth of government. Instead Sean, it is the complete opposite.

"It's expanding at such a large degree that if Americans aren't paying attention, unfortunately our country could evolve into something that we do not even recognize. Certainly that is so far from what the founders of our country had in mind for us."

On the government's bailout for the bankrupt General Motors:

"America is digging a deeper hole - and how are we paying for this government largesse? We're borrowing. We're borrowing from China and when you consider that now we own sixty percent of General Motors - or the U.S. government does... But who is the U.S. government becoming more indebted to? It's China. So that leads you to have to ask - who is really going to own our car industry in America?"

On her own life outside of the national limelight:

"I love my time in Alaska. At the same time though I crave, if not my voice, other voices out there being bold, being strong letting Americans know that those that are concerned about the growth of government and about national security issues, they're not alone.

"There are others who are empathizing and more than empathizing are wanting to take action to make sure that economically and physically that our homeland is safe and secure."

"In what respect, Charlie?"

I keep trying to imagine Palin's voice giving Obama's Cairo speech as I read the transcript....

Republicans are the gift that keeps on giving, and with every day that passes, Obama is proving what we should have learned from the election...chill out, he's got this.

Palin giving out economic advice to anyone is laughable. She's already admitted to getting a D- in Econ 101 in college and it took her 6 years and 5 different colleges to get her Bachelors degree.....in Journalism!

This from the woman who, while running for national office, was concerned about AIG's construction bonds.

Uh-oh! Looks like Sarah did not get the memo on that "empathy" word. Republicans aren't supposed to like it and she used it two times!

Can't wait to see Sarah Palin tonight. We need people like her. What a mess Obama has put us i.,

A Palin/Steele GOP ticket would keep half the cast of 30 Rock employed through 2012, not to mention all the fun Stewart and Colbert would have.

Oh this should be a classic! Almost as good as a skit from SNL but only real. I wonder if she'll play the flute. Hannity could be waterboarded too.

I wish that she would take Hannity back up to Alaska with her and go out in the wilderness, never to be heard from again. All they are good for is running things down, not for how /what/wht to fix things.

I love the Loons knocking Palin for whatever. Let's look at the economy since the Messiah came into office: He said unemployment would not rise above 8 percent. It is now at 9.4 and rising, predicted to pass 10 percent by the end of the year. He took a projected $500 billion deficit for 2009 and took it to $1.85 trillion for 2009 and according to the CBO, it will be an additional $10 trillion in eight years, more than the entire deficit buildup from George Washington to George W Bush. Because he is printing money at an alarming pace and selling bonds to China, most economists now fear hyper-inflation will set in in the next year or so, putting interest rates at Jimmy Carter-like heights well into the double digits, which would absolutely destroy and already ailing economy. And now, the Messiah is trying to stimulate his stimulus package that HAD to be passed -- or else. The package has only spent 5 percent of the $787 billion price tag, hardly anything that will help the economy, but surely has hurt it. Sarah Palin may not have done that well in econ class, but so far the Messiah's Badministration's economic grade is worse than an F-!!

When is this woman going to go home and shush?? Is this all the GOP has to offer???? Wow.

Sarah Palin is still a joke!
I thank God every day that the cranky old maverick, John McCain, and airheaded neo-con, Sarah Palin, are not leading this country. After eight years of embarrassment and shame, I'm proud that there is an intelligent, respectful, articulate man in the White House.

I like this lady and think its horrible the way the liberal community are so horrible to her.
If anyone doesn't agree with liberal trash they demonize them. The just plain UGLY,MEAN and INHUMAN
Sarah Palin just beat all of the Ethic charges that were against her and nothing in any papers. But if she spit on the sidewalk it makes headline news. You people are UGLY

Diaper Boy,
Obama should have cleaned up the economic mess that BushCo left him with in 4 1/2 months?

There's a very good reason why you, Moose Huntress Queen Sarah and your two bit fringe regional party (GOP) are shrinking and getting less and less support the farther along we get into the Obama administration - YOU ARE ALL INSANE!

She has been working very hard and has almost perfected her impression of Tina Fey.

Hey John D, can you send me the link where Obama actually said that? From what I've read so far, all he said was that without the stimulus package unemployment will reach double digits. Not there yet so I think you're jumping the gun. And May's job loss was the lowest monthly job loss total in eight months. This is considered good news not dooms day as you suggest.

If Sarah Palin is so silly and irrelevant, why the obsession? Clearly the Left noted her appeal, and are out to eliminate the threat- it's not like it's not obvious.

Palin has been highly successful in life while ignoring the left-wing feminist model... this helps to explain the extra dose of venom in the attacks.

Democrats are plenty afraid of Palin coming-back at them in 2012 with a dynamic and complementary VP like Bobby Jindal... or visa versa. And they surely have reason to fear her-

Palin is the most popular governor in the country... are all those people idiots? Alaska was a pretty corrupt system until she stepped in. Her reforms took on entrenched politicians (inc. Republicans), a mafioso-style union boss, and Big Oil.

Wouldn't it have been nice if Obama had been principled and brave enough to confront the corrupt Chicago Democratic Machine?

Or shady political operators like Tony Rezko?

Racist preachers?

Instead of doing business with every last one of them?

Go get em, Sarah- and don't mind the press, nobody will be listening to them anymore after the pending Obamamania implosion- and the ties of GE and others are fully exposed.

In Chicago ward politics, Sara is what they call a "place holder".

Which is something like a "stalking horse".

And closely related to a "publicity stunt".

A cousin to the "hail mary pass".

McCain put her out there to solidify the white (trailer) trash vote.

That's all she can do. Other than that, she is clueless and useless.

The acid test in the Republican party is:

How much $$$ does she really have in the ole campaign coffers?

In this babe's case, very little.

The real $$$ in the Republican party is laying back, waiting for Obama to screw up or for a "national security incident" so they can come out of the shadows and attack in their own names.

"Palin giving out economic advice to anyone is laughable. She's already admitted to getting a D- in Econ 101..."
Joanie

And yet, she can see the disaster in the making. (That's because it's so obvious to everyone except "the followers.")

Hey Joanie, irene, Carol A, & janet - show us your NOW cards! Your liberal brains have you so tied in knots that you can't see just how laughable you are.

Sarah Palin is an ignorant dimwit who doesn't stand a chance of ever being elected outside of Alaska. Who does this lady and her husband think they are?? What is more laughable are the Republican sheeple who drool and slobber all over themselves about her. It's pathetic that this is what the Republican party has to offer...Sarah Palin and Newton Gingerich. Go ahead losers and put them on the ballot.

Poor Caribou Barbie exciting and new, neither her or Newt have a clue.

Hey Micki, at least we don't go on national TV and radio and tell people to murder doctors. I guess you don't find that ugly at all.

Reaganite Republican Resistence - you are a little behind the times. Palin is no longer the nation's most popular governor.

Okay, I’m game. Tell me who went on national TV or radio and told people to murder doctors? I’ve never heard of such a thing from anyone.

Obviously your stuck up right wing views prevent you from watching TV!
Try Google or is that beneath you as well?

I'm sorry, Scot. I asked the question because watching TV and googling for the answer turned up nothing. I asked the question in good faith; in which case your snarky, petulant answer was way out of line. You really need to work on NOT being so obnoxious all the time.

If I'm obnoxious well, thats who I am. Dont like it, I dont care. I find you stuck-up so now we're even.
So in good faith, I,ll do your homework for you ok:
Google ''Protesters who yell Kill the Doctors'' and in 0,24 seconds you'll get results of about 239,000, I didnt read them all but from most of them there is plenty of mention of telecast protesters yelling 'Kill the Doctors'. Have fun.

Sarah palin is beautiful - but that's about as far as my admiration goes. She's so "gung-ho" for the extreme right ideology that I thank God everyday that she didn't make it into Federal Office.
