Judge Sonia Sotomayor, President Barack Obama's nominee for the Supreme Court, said today that she has resigned from an elite all-women's club after Republicans questioned her participation in it.
Sotomayor says she resigned from the Belizean Grove today.
In a letter to Senate Judiciary Chairman Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) and Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) ranking minority member of the committee, the federal appeals court judge said she is convinced the club does not practice "invidious discrimination" and that her membership in it did not violate judicial ethics.
Yet she didn't want questions about it to "distract anyone from my qualifications and record."
Radio's Rush Limbaugh, for one, had some questionable fun with Sotomayor's women's club, likening them to housemaids.
Federal judges are bound by a code prohibiting membership in any group that discriminates by race, sex, religion or nationality. Confirmation hearings for the judge's nomination to the high court start in July.

Would she still be a member if it wasn't Politically expedient? Heck no, these people are a piece of work.
And a side note, not printed (yet), the Democrat Congress and Admin's bill on healthcare says this, Page 114 of the Health Bill states that Federal workers and congress will be exempted from the requirement of this legislation. If the health plan isn't good enough for them why force it on us?
Is that what YOU voted for?

The very same angry old rich white guys who run the GOP, the one's who have been cultivating their followers to follow their base instincts such as race baiting xenophobia, war mongering, promoting enhanced interrogation techniques, and giving the wealthy continuous socialistic support, now want us to believe that Sotomayor is a racist against white guys? Ha Ha Ha!

I voted for a public plan and no healthcare mandates. What did you vote for, no healthcare policy?

Are they as big and thick at the Belizean Grove as the Bohemian?
(Trees, I mean.)
And are services available to the "ladies" in Belize that are not provided at the Bohemian?
Was this a confirmation conversion, and why did she join this outfit in the first place?
Sen Sessions wants to know.

To find the answer to the question why the Federal Workers and Congress are exempt, one would have to ask the person who introduced the bill.....Tom Davis (R-Virginia).

Quitting this club doesn't improve her credentials; where are her in-depth judicial opinions that show the type of intellect that belongs on the Supreme Court?
