Never mind healthcare.
How 'bout those blue jeans?
"I heard they were cracking on my jeans,'' President Barack Obama said of the post-game review of the baggy jeans that he wore throwing the first pitch at Major League Baseball's All-Star game last week.
The president, who "hates to shop," says he is fine with "frumpy."
In the midst of a White House interview covering everything from the president's push for healthcare reform and criticism for bonuses on Wall Street, to the Taliban's capture of an American soldier in Afghanistan and an American family's attempt to retrieve a child from Brazil, NBC News' Meredith Vieira asked Obama about the jeans he wore on the mound of the All-Star game.
With a wife widely credited for a sense of fashion, the president was asked if he wants to defend those jeans.
"No... here's my attitude,'' Obama said. "Michelle, she looks fabulous. I'm a little frumpy.
"Basically, up until a few years ago, I only had four suits.'' He said. "She used to tease me, because they'd get really shiny... I hate to shop.
"Those jeans are comfortable,'' the president said, finally coming to the defense of the jeans. "For those of you who want your president to look great in his tight jeans, I'm sorry, I'm not the guy...
"It just doesn't fit me -- I'm not 20.''

Republican Jim DeMint's "Waterloo" statement yesterday exposed the fact that the Republican opponents of health care don't really care about health care, they care about politics. They care more about a political victory than the health and well being of the American people.

Of all of the legitimate things that Obama might be criticized for, we're making an issue over the jeans he wears?
For once, I agree with him 100%. Tight jeans are uncomfortable and tiring to wear. Give me anice relaxed fit anytime.
