When I don't know what's funnier, the fact that these people think Obama's Hawaii BC is a fake, or that they're convinced this obvious forgery is real.

For God's sake, it lists the place of birth as Mombassa, which wasn't even part of Kenya when Obama was born! I'm starting to suspect that Taitz is some sort of crypto-liberal who's using this nonsense to speed up the GOP's implosion.

And there is NO requirement for both parents to be U.S. Citizens. If he was born in Hawaii (the U.S.), and all reputable sources agree he was, then is IS a "natural born" citizen and eligible to be President. Everything you have is based on no points of fact, just speculation, mistrust, and (often deliberate) misinformation.

What intrigues me is why everybody focuses only on the birth certificate. Even if the prez WAS born in Hawaii, didn't he lose US citizenship when he was adopted in Indonesia? (Bonafide elementary school records show him as Barry Soetoro, Indonesian nationality, apparently by adoption by his Indonesian step-father.) Indonesia did not accept dual nationality and only their citizens can attend their schools. An American child who renounces citizenship can still regain it provided he/she does so within the first 6 mos. of his/her 18th birthday, but there is no claim that that was done. This suggests that Obama may not be a citizen at all, making the "natural-born" rerquirement a moot point, right?

This just shows you how diverged the political conversations have become in this country thanks to right-wing propaganda outlets like Fixed News and the Wingnut AM Hate Radio morons.

Democrats are debating how to tackle health care and whether a public option works best and how best to get costs under control..........Meanwhile, the Republican party has become fixated on the idea that Barack Obama's family faked his birth certificate 47 years ago, knowing he would run for President eventually and need a cover story?!?!

Hawaii has announced they are holding the original birth records of Obama. Obama refuses to have them released, and he refuses to have the hospital he has named confirmed the birth there. Both of these are questions that the Democratic Party should have had asked and answered before they placed his name on the primary ballot. Remember this issue was raised in Hillary blogs as far back as December 2007. It is not like it should have come as a surprise. Look for something from the DNC or the Federal Election Commission where they say, no worry we reviewed the original birth certificate, confirmed the birth in the hospital and deem Obama a natural born citizen. Keep looking because it does not exist.

This is and will be a continued failure of the Democratic party to vet Obama.

These birthers are to the right as the "9-11 was an inside job" folks are/were to the left.

I have a Kenyan BC dated 1966 and it is nowhere near that piece of crap.
1. Kenyan Birth Certificates are never printed on white paper, even a copy
2. The format is very different, the size is not A4, they are "landscape" format

3. There are several official numbers, including the birth registers number and the number of the certificate.

The Kenya gov should sue this woman to bankruptcy for defamation and forging documents and purporting them to be official.

If she cant respect US gov docs from the state of Hawaii how does she know her greencard or whatever she got after immigration is real?

So they were able to tag-team someone who's first language is not english, and they think they've accomplished something? It's reduced to a Robert Gibbs type response by showing a Certification of live birth and fraudulently declaring it a birth certificate. U.S. citizenship is determined solely by the U.S.; it does not matter what the rules are in Indonesia. And a child can't lose citizenship through the actions of a parent. A child born a U.S. citizen remains a U.S. citizen unless he/she chooses to renounce it through a formal process OR unless the child lives outside the U.S. for most of his/her life & does not return to the U.S. & reaffirm by age 25. Obama was only in Indonesia for 2-3 years before returning to the U.S. None of this applies to him.

Mombassa wasn't part of Kenya until 1963. It was still part of Zanzibar. If he had been born in Mombassa in 1961, his birth certificate would have said "Republic of Zanzibar" not "Republic of Kenya".

J. McCain was born in the Panama Canal. Both parents were U.S. citizens. If his mom had not been a citizen, J. McCain would not have been a natural born citizen. The constitution states you have to be a natural born citizen to be president of the U.S. This is the same for B. Obama. No matter really where he was born, he is not natural born citizen because his father was not born in the U.S.

I'm guessing you dont read. President Obamas mother was a US citizen at the time of his birth! The Constitution DOES NOT say both parents have to be citizens!! END OF STORY!!! COngress has dealth with this and unanamously voted (All Democrats and ALL Republicans) confirming President Obama was bornin in Hawaii!! Are you suggesting your Republican leaders are lying as well??

Kate, with all due respect, you clearly have no idea what you're talking about.

In that sentence, you are claiming that even if Barack Obama was born in Hawaii -- which he was -- he would not be eligible to be president because his father was not born in the United States.

Where did you get that from?

By your logic, you would have us believe that Presidents Thomas Jefferson, James Buchanan, Chester Arthur, Woodrow Wilson and Herbert Hoover were all ineligible to be president of the United States. After all, each of those presidents had one parent who was foreign born.)

In fact, it sounds like you're suggesting Andrew Jackson was doubly-ineligible, since both his mother and father were born in Ireland.

Wow. Thank you for enlightening us to that massive crisis. This ineligible president conspiracy is a lot bigger than any of us thought. And it's been going on a lot longer than since 1961.

Apparently it goes back to 1801 when Jefferson took the oath of office.
