Obama accepts Joe Wilson's apology

Where in the bill does it state any requirement to prove residency? It doesn't. We all know how that works. End result? Illegals will be covered. So who should be apologizing?

Joe Wilson from South Carolina, is just another good old boy where in the morning these married men preach to you that there should be prayer in our schools and in the evening they are on their cell phones setting up a date with their other women on the side, hypocrisy has been bred in. I am not surprised that he felt compel to yell like he was at some Friday night game. He is a hater not a debater like most of his side of the isle.

You know what would be REALLY funny? If someone went through the video of Bush's 2005 State of the Union address and found Obama looking less than enthusiastic! Maybe he was even booing.

Under H.R. 3200, all legal permanent residents (LPRs),23 nonimmigrants, and unauthorized aliens who meet the substantial presence test (defined above) would be required to obtain health insurance. Noncitizens meeting the definition of nonresident aliens (e.g., temporary visitors, temporary workers in the United States for less than 183 days in the year) would not be required to obtain health insurance. Notably, the IRC does not contain special rules for individuals who are in the United States without authorization (i.e., illegal or unauthorized aliens). Instead, the IRC treats these individuals in the same manner as other foreign nationals—an unauthorized individual who has been in the United States long enough to qualify under the substantial presence test is classified as a resident alien; otherwise, the individual is classified as a nonresident alien. Thus, it would appear that unauthorized aliens who meet the substantial presence test would be required under H.R. 3200 to have health insurance.

Hey L, in order to recieve any benefits or insurance - private or public - you need to supply a social security number. That number is then screened.

The Dems in Congress continue to disallow any provision requiring proof of citizenship in order to obtain US health care in the health reform bill. Ergo, situation as usual in the ERs of America--no change there. I'm a registered Dem, and believe that we need to know the truth about illegals in our health care system. Surprise, the illegal alien plank is important to many moderate Dems. Wilson was telling it like it is, only he said it in a rude way. I'm beginning to think that a great majority of the uninsured are illegal aliens and I don't want to go more into debt for law breaking crashers. The provision for citizenship needs to be there. All this hate for 'illegals'. I for one, like the Mexicans that come to our country. As a semi-retired person I have worked several part time jobs, and have gotten to know many new arrivals from Mexico.

I, like Vivian, demand that anytime a patient enters the ER the first prioity should be determining the citzenship status of the patient before any medical care is given. (especially if they look like an illegal, Good american looking people like Vivian and I should be exempt of course!) Like Viviian, I demand that any patient that does not have proof of citizenship should be dumped at the curb, without treatment, in ALL cases. I don't care if they are seriously injured, a child, or dying, like Vivian I find these illegal aliens so disgusting that I don't want any medical services provided to them at all. If they die, they die. As vivian well knows, their lives ceased to have any value when they crossed the border.

The Repubs love to initiate useless amendments that are not constructive to the legislation..

Similar to their amendment that 'abortions' won't be covered... when abortions by law can't be covered..

Just like their amendment that illegals won't be covered.. though the bill specifically says they won't..did their amendment actually propose a plan for it being accomplished - or just pointless additional wording to the bill that doesn't contribute to the bill as a whole. It was some ideological political crap line in the sand.. one we would not need in the bill.

It's like Steve King (R) and his amendments to random bills saying this money won't go to acorn...

What do these three examples have in common... they are pointless paranoid 'no's - which is all the Republicans deliver. They really need to shut the hell up... they are destructive to the legislative process and to America.

No it doesn't. I know loads of people who work very hard yet cannot get ahead. Conversely, I know others (not as many) who are born into wealth or get by on "it's who you know."

Wingnut fantasies like this are disgusting and a direct insult to many hardworking people. Does anyone recall Idiot Bush at a Town Hall meeting a couple years ago? Poor women talked about how she worked three jobs yet still could not get ahead. Idiot Boy lauded her story as "uniquely American." Too stupid for words, he.

So, Vance, you want Americans to go in to debt more paying for health care for those who crashed through our gates and are here illegally. No, I don't want business as usual. And, yes, getting info, in most cases, in the ER is not life threatening. In the few cases where I have been in an ER for myself or for my children, I have endured answering many questions before Tx has been administered. Grow up Vance and quit giving my tax dollars away to law breakers and illegal moochers. We don't live in a limitless society. If you are so concerned, start buying plane and bus tickets for the illegals so they can go home and take resources away from their own governments and people. Tell them to try to display good values--and not have their first act on American soil be an illegal act. Tell 20 to 40 million not to premeditate an illegal act against America. Vance, your use of worst case scenarios for the crashers is a bit lame. The Dems in congress continue to want to give illegal aliens health care that will cost American citizens millions, if not trillions. Nancy and Obama continue to fight the provision in health care reform to check for citizenship. And, I as an American, am asked for my address and ID all the time. And I comply.

Americans are being bred to take from the government, and the enablers from both parties are more than happy to comply.

You speak in anecdotes. You can always find someone who works multiple jobs but cannot get ahead. They're working the wrong jobs and in a free market, they have the opportunity to seek another job. As a rule, those who work harder achieve more, in school, relationships, athletic endeavors, spelling bee's, and careers.
