With the White House lining up a run of the Sunday talk shows for President Barack Obama this weekend, CNN and Meet the Press were first with bookings:
Obama will join CNN's John King for "a wide-ranging interview'' that will air Sunday, at 9 am EDT on State of the Union with John King.
NBC News' Meet the Press is not only playing host to the president on Sunday, but also inviting viewers to email questions.
ABC's George Stephanopoulos also is asking for questions for Obama's appearance Sunday on This Week.
CBS News chimed in this afternoon with word that Bob Schieffer will interview Obama at the White House about Afghanistan, the economy and healthcare for Face the Nation.
.
The White House hopes to run the tables of Sunday talk shows, as the president presses for action on health care in Congress.
If all goes according to plans, the president will meet the press, face the nation and do all of that this week, on Sunday, Foxies.

Well how can we have an informed conversation about health care reform if we actually talk about it publically. We need shouting and marches and lots of posters with Obama made to look like Hitler to get thing going. Having rational people ask rational questions and having the President respond is not the way to go about getting this done. We need more talk about fake death panels and finger pointing....we need a heck of a lot more finger pointing.
Here comes the GOP response. Obama is grandstanding. Count the number of times he uses "I" in a speech. Heck the GOP have called this Obamacare. If they don't want him answering questions about it, why do they attribute the whole matter to him?
I can't wait to hear Glenn Beck cry over this. He may just break completely down and sob uncontrollably. Think of the ratings!!!!!

Kg123, don't forget the importance of bringing your assault rifles to discussions about healthcare. Nothing adds to a good political discussion like the threat of imminent slaughter by a bunch of armed thugs!

Obama needs to get on the Weather Channel and a few Home Shopping Network shows to shill his healthcare now....that should just about cover it.
Oh, kg123, excellent job at missing the point.

President Obama has been on a roll all week.
You have to have a lot of respect for a man (Obama) who completely turned the healthcare debate around in 5 days and his approval rating is going back up too. I knew if the Republicans were given enough time and rope they'd over-play their hand, and apparently Obama knew it too.
When he gets a good bill President Obama will go down in history as one of the greats.
Republican Congressman who oppose universal health insurance (Joe Wilson, I'm looking at you) should immediately relinquish their federal health insurance. After all, these members of Congress have long enjoyed taxpayer-subsidized gov't run health insurance, a privilege that they apparently believe tens of millions of working, uninsured Americans and their families don't deserve.
If Republicans don't think being uninsured is a big deal, then they should go right ahead and try it out. And if they really believe a public plan is such a bad option, maybe they can persuade their parents to give up Medicare too.

Why don't they just create the Obama channel and get it over with.

Why aren't Mitt, Sarah, Jebidiah, Huckleberry, et al., on the talk shows????
Hmmmm.......
Their silence is disappointing.....
or something.

Why is it that every Sunday my TV is filled up with MINORITY party Republicans, like the disgraced Newt Gingrich and loser John McCain?
The voters spoke in November and they told the Republican party to go pound sand.

Silva,
He would meet the press, face the nation and do all of that this week, on Sunday. He'll do everything but face a tough question.

Corporate news doesn't want the people to be informed. They don't want Americans to know what the Corporations are doing to America, like the Criminals on Wall Street, the Bandits in the Boardroom or the Bobbing-
heads in the Newsrooms !! They especially do not want President Obama and Vice-President Biden to succeed in healthcare reform, financial reform or government reform. Why, because that would mean that they would have to give the consumers, their money's worth, respect and above all, a fair and open presentation of a product. Yikes !!! That means, they would have to be honest with the consumer. I don't know if they know what that means, any more. That means, they would have to stop the con, the scam, the cooked books and the smoke and mirrors. They would have to put down the snake-oil and pick up the shovel and WORK !! You know, that four letter word, that most Americans have done, day in and day out, for most of their adult lives, trying to earn an honest day's wage for an honest day's WORK !! I guess they would rather bilk their fellow citizens than WORK, they would rather cheat their fellow citizens than to WORK, they would rather sit in judgement and deny healthcare benefits to a sick fellow citizen, keep that stinking job, than give it up and go out and WORK. What has America come to, a nation of shirkers, a nation of goldbrickers, a nation of citizens afraid to go to WORK. No wonder they are against unions, they have always sucked up to the bosses and got the easy non-WORK. They didn't need the protection of the union, because they avoided the real WORK, by sucking up to the boss. These Republican-Libertarians in the last 25-30 years have sure tried to destroy the work ethic in America, but like everything else they try, they failed abysmally !!
At the moment they are trying to sabotage President Obama's presidency, just as Getrich tried to destroy President Clinton's presidency. Guess what, Getrich can change wives, Graham can change elected office and Barr can change parties, but you know what, the stick is still with them. The stink of Defeat !! It just hangs around that bunch of losers, the Republican-Libertarian Party, like dead skunks !! Hold your nose tightly, when you pass their offices, the stench is overwhelming !!
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, BRING THEM HOME, ALIVE AND WHOLE. NOW.
