The Swamp

by Mark Silva

"One quick tug, and the sidewalk's all mine,'' says the guy carrying the chainsaw below -- one way to clear a path through potential carriers of the swine flu.

Sesame Street's Elmo has some puppet-sized advice, too: ''Wash wash, wash wash, wash wash.''

Dr. John Clarke has a hip-hop prescription for the H1N1 virus; see it above.

These are among the finalists in a contest the federal government is running -- a "PSA contest'' for an ad that will air to help stop the spread of a flu expected to plague the nation this fall. The goverment's "panel of experts'' has picked the contenders and is asking people to vote on a winner -- with a $2,500 prize involved.

The voting closes Sept. 16.

(Here's hoping the swine flu rap doesn't win -- that's a channel-changer every day of the week. The Swamp votes for the chain-saw.)

I only had a enough money for a Hazmat suit or a Chainsaw, so I went with the suit. Much more convincing video!
