Get Motivated! lineup for Monday's forum in Fort Worth, Tex: $4.95 a seat.
by Mark Silva
The "decider'' is becoming the motivator.
George W. Bush, a born-again, indefatigable optimist who served two terms as president of the United States, two as governor of Texas and one as managing partner of the Texas Rangers, will take the stage at an all-day motivational forum in Fort Worth next week -- the start, apparently, of a new, motivational speaking career for the 43rd president.
The daylong session on Monday sponsored by Get Motivated! will feature an all-star lineup of motivational speakers: Former Secretary of State Colin Powell -- whom Bush's own defense secretary, Donald Rumsfeld, motivated right out of the State Department -- NFL Hall of Famer and Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Terry Bradshaw, motivation czar Zig Ziglar, and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani -- whom Florida's Republican voters motivated right out of the 2008 GOP presidential primary contest.
Bush is the headliner of the business seminar for an organization that promises to "super-charge your career" and "increase your productivity and income."
The seminar on "How to Master the Art of Effective Leadership" will be followed by another featuring Bush in San Antonio in December.
For the Bush-motivated crowd, with a former president accustomed to headlining top-dollar fundraisers for the Republican Party, this will be a relatively cheap seat: $4.95 per person or $19 for an entire office.

It's really sad that these guys have involved themselves in this just to make a few bucks. I guess I shouldn't be surprised at further proof that theyse men have little or no honor.

Afterwords, you'll be invited to a free stay at James Arthur Ray's "sweat lodge" for "spiritual and physical cleansing"

It is amazing that Bush, Powell, Giuliani and others taking part in a Motivational Seminar is even featured as an important story at a time when we have a heated Health Reform Debate in Congress, Obama and his Staff making childish attacks on Fox News, High Unemployment, Trillion Dollar Plus Budget Deficit, and major problems on what to do in Afghanistan. Mark, you need to get your priorities straight on what is really important news.

I see nothing wrong with doing/trying to deal with problems that you might have with motivation or succeeding in life. I see nothing wrong with trying to gain inspiration from whoever you might gain it from. Both are laudable aims.
But when you bring in an abject failure like Bush Jr, a guy who failed in both business and government, you're looking for lessons on motivation and success in the wrong place.
The fact that they'd book failures like Bush and Giuliani to talk about how to succeed in life makes it clear that they don't take the issue seriously but, rather, they're in it for the money alone.

George W Bush - I Screwed Up the World and My Country at the Same Time and So Can You!
What a message! When people start telling you how stupid you are ignore them. When people tell you it is not a good idea to invade countries based on lies do it anyway. Just go ahead and do anything your gut tells you to do. That's what I (Bush) did, of course it killed thousands of our own and hundreds of thousands of theirs, but I had a good attitude when I did it.

Bush's success expertise, as Jim Hightower once claimed, was being born on third base and claiming he hit a triple. A serial failure in the oil business who narrowly avoided charges of insider trading thanks to his father's connections at the SEC, Bush turned a tidy profit as general manager of the Texas Rangers baseball team in part due to a dubious taxpayer-funded stadium deal. Judged among the worst presidents in U.S. history, Dubya's cataclysmically low approval ratings led him to his first paid speaking gig north of the border in Canada. If nothing else, the nation's first MBA President serves as a horrible example to others.

Is 'Get Motivated' for people who need GED credit?

W is the perfect example of a typical Republican in todays Republican party.
George W. Bush was so motivated, he planned his success even before he was born, arranging to be the first-born son of George Herbert Walker Bush, a powerful Washington D.C. Republican insider.
If 'W' can show me how to do this, I'll go listen to his seminar.

The American people want obama to get motivated and make a decision on Afghanistan!
His cowardly and dithering tacticts have led to the death of over 100 American soldiers.
Put down the basketball, put away the golf clubs, stop flying all over to make campaigne speeches and please try to "lead" this great nation with two wars going on and unemployment in the double digits!
Oh, and forget about FOX NEWS...they're eating you up.

Maybe, because of this, obama, the community-organizer-in-chief will get motivated and listen to his four star Military Generals and try to win a war in Afghanistan...while our troops are being killed by the dozens and he plays basketball while his wife does hoola-hoops.
Think America!

Tell me Paulo, how many men woman and children died because of Bush's lack of interest in Afghanistan while he sent all our toops to Iraq? How many died while he took a record of vacations on his ranch? How many died while he did nothing? Tell me?

Well Scott, not to out do your "look the other way" excuses but........ How many died in Viet Nam? World War II, World War I, Korean War, Spanish American War, Civil War, Revolutionary War.
You know the list of wars goes back thousands of years, yet each one is attributed a "cuase" being fought by a "people".
You folks with the "look over there", "someone else did it first", "we didn't start it" mentality show your ignorance and lack of leadership.

Add them all up Scot, who's to blame is not the answer.
Who's in power and who controls the situation IS THE ANSWER and it ain't Bush anymore. Come up with some reasonable excuses for the current failure in the White House and join the here and now crowd.

Not really sure why this turned into a big debate on Afghanistan.
Those That Don't Study History Are Doomed To Repeat It. Afghanistan has never been conquered. 40,000 more troops? 100,000? Just pulling out completely? All basicly have the same outcome.
And, for the record, George W. Bush spent 487 days on vacation. More than a third of his two terms in office. Take that how you will.

As usual you miss the point and come back with meaningless couonterpoints that have nothing to do with the first point! Get it?
Paulo accuses President Obama of playing too much basketball while men and woman are dying in Afghanistan. My reply was relevant in that it asks how many died under Bush for his lack of judgment and comittment to Afghanistan and record vacation days. Your bringing up past wars has no relevence whatsoever as the war in Afghanistan AND Iraq are still ongoing you putz!

These seminars are no different than Obama flying around the country and world (dates with his wife) almost every day since he took office to "motivate" his base to support his numerous top priorities instead of staying at the White House and actually doing something constructive. He has been spewing all that carbon all over the planet that will supposedly ruin our atmosphere. Stop the hypocrisy and walk the walk.
