As a Nobel Peace Prize winner and Chicago White Sox Fan, would President Barack Obama rather see world peace or the White Sox win the World Series?
"That's a tough one,'' said First Lady Michelle Obama, running the paces of Jay Leno's 10@10 questions last night. "I think if you would ask him, he'd say he'd probably prefer world peace, but he probably wouldn't mind a World Series bid too... But I think he'd choose world peace.''
No. 8 question: The president's most annoying habit?
"Ooh, we don't have enough time,'' the president's wife replied. "He has no annoying habits, right Jay?.... He's perfect,'' she said, and then, after pausing, added: "But you know what, when he beats me at tennis, that gets to be pretty annoying, and he beats me quite often.''
And what is it that the first lady whispers in the president's ear following his speeches, Leno asked?
"I usually ask him did he take out the garbage," she said.
Settling in at the White House, the first lady says the first dog, Bo, celebrated his first birthday with a party in Rose Garden earlier this month. The Portuguese water dog feasted on a cake shaped like a dog house and made of veal.
""We had a really sweet celebration," the first lady told the host of The Jay Leno Show. "We had party hats."
There was one thing that Leno could not pry out of Obama, however: Her daughters' plans for Halloween costumes - "You need security clearance for that,'' she said.

They gave the dog, a dog house made of VEAL???
Millions are now out of work, out of unemployment funds, homeless..and they feed the damn dog VEAL???
Why dont they just kick us all in the face, and laugh while they are doing it....
This President and his 1st lady, are ignorant fools...

Oh, Melisa, spare us the "millions out of work" line. The real issue I have with the veal is how it's raised, not with the family dog having a nice meat treat on his birthday. All of a sudden the Repubs are all concerned about the unemployed all while they provide huge tax cuts for the wealthy. THOSE are the ignorant fools.

I am done with Leno.

Be honest Melisa, if they had fed the dog hamburger, would it have changed anything in your life or other's. So the dog ate veal. So what? If they fed him lobster, I could care less. I get up every morning trying to become successful and prosperous myself. Don't blame Obama because you're down on your luck, or because you didn't stay in school and failed to succeed.

Silva: Thanks for another "news" piece. Keep up the fluff, maybe we won't get to any real news . . .

Another great article, Mark, on top of your hard-hitting expose on her taste in french fries. The Pulitzer prize awaits you!

Raven and DD, by using your "logic," the pay xzar dictating how much people make and cutting CEOs pay 90 percent, how does that make your life or anyone's life any better? Who's life gets enriched when the government takes more than 50 percent of one's pay?
If Bush fed Barney a doghouse made of veal while folks were out of work, you can bet your tooshie that Mark Silva and the rest of the media would be squealing like there is no tomorrow! "How dare they feed the dog veal when millions are out of work and hungry!" the media would be screaming.

Yes Mark....where can a conservative go to get "real" news? You know...hard hitting stories on Obama's "secret negro army" or the FEMA camps, or the census people coming to take us away? I believe you can find it on Faux, or any other good narcotic.

Their dog got veal, and then they flew off to Sweden, or Florida, or ... wherever in their taxpayer provided Luxury Jet Airliner that spews tons and tons of pollutants that will kill the earth, all the while lecturing YOU, the peasant class on why you shouldn't eat this (beef), or drink that (sodas), shouldn't drive SUVs, shouldn't want cheap energy (while of course they use all they want for free). Hypocritical, doesn't even come close to describing the liberal politican.
Instead of "let them eat cake", the Obamas say "you typical Americans don't need the things that we do...after all you aren't really important, but we are."

Melisa, please don't blame the current first family about the "Millions are now out of work, out of unemployment funds, homeless..."
this is not their fault, if anyone is to blame, it would be our previous president.
My dog just had her first birthday and she has been eating veal, bison, sweet potatoes, duck, lamb, etc.. all her life. Sometimes I think she eats better than I do. And I have been out of work since 2006 (by choice).

The liberal press has an "all-in" investment in Obama. They adore him, they helped elect him, and they passionately believe in his brand of liberalism.
If Obama fails, liberalism will be dead and gone and that will leave the liberal press in complete limbo. They will have lost their influence. That's why they are so hysterical about Fox or anyone who threatens Obama's legacy.
What's really terrifying them now is that, despite their effforts to lionize and shield Obama, the American people are beginning to see that the emperor has no clothes. The "moderate, post-partisan" guy they thought they elected is being revealed as a dedicated liberal who does not hesitate to use Chicago-style hyperpartisanship.
So, when the lib press rants and raves, we need to understand that they are coming from a deep pit of abject fear that their time is up.

We went out for dinner last night. My husband ordered veal -- and the girls and I were absolutely horrified. As noted above, it's the way they're raised.
That said, this is an idiotic blog entry. Who the heck ares.

Just think. Another hard hitting article about a woman who is FINALLY proud to be an American. Where were the soft articles about Laura Bush. None what so ever. What's next? Michelle the gardener and her turnip patch? Or better yet Michelle the next Jackie O. OOPS. That has been tried and failed. Why is the press trying to make a silk purse out of a sows ear?
