Judge Land's opinion, though long, is worth reading in its entirety. Obviously, the Judge (and his clerks) labored long and hard to get this one right. And they did.

This is the type of tort reform the US needs more of.

This was the right ruling in this case. Frivilous lawsuits tie up our courts needlessly. These ridiculous attacks against our President have to stop somewhere. Dear Friends: The President (it seems obvious) was born of a mother who was a United States citizen. That being the case, it doesn't really matter if his old man was Mothra and he was born on the Moon. It's all a moot point. He is, by virtue of his mothers' citizenship a natural citizen of the US. I disagree, one of those newsmagazine shows do an article on California lawyers who file the same kind of frivilous lawsuits against anyone who offends them. One point of the show was how difficult it was to get the California Bar to do anything about it. Remember, California has more lawyers per capita than just about anywhere in the world.

As much as I think judges are, in general, self-centered [male members] who do not deserve more than superficial respect, contempt of court is a legitimate finding here, and virtually unappealable.

Hawaii has neither confirmed nor denied that they produced the 2007 "certification of live birth."

The COLB on the internet has the words "filed by Registrar." Implying that the COLB was not "accepted by the State Registrar."

Other documents and records are being requested. i.e. college applications and transcripts, passport records and selective service records.

Too much has been hidden, scrubbed. This man was not vetted. The truth not race is at issue and no one should be afraid to show these documents.

No it wouldn't. You had a father - and a mother, incidentally - who said releasing unproven allegations in their divorce file would damage their son. A judge said "hooey" to all that because of the public's compelling right to know. Why does the public, not a proxy for the government who has examined the document, not have a compelling right to see this public record? It Taitz's claims are so ridiculous - and they do seem to be to me - then just release more than a photocopy of the dang thing and get it over with. The fact of the matter is this administration is using the "birther" issue to demonize their enemies. Most conservatives don't agree with or subscribe to Taitz's theories, but rather than disprove them and put the issue to rest, the White House would rather attack the eeeevil birthers and use a wide brush to tar the mainstream of the republican party with them.
None of that, however, means the judges in these cases don't show blatant partiality to liberals, particularly ones named Obama. Blair Hull's personal files were considered public knowledge by a judge when he ran for senate against the annointed one, too. Where was his right to privacy? Where was the official saying "oh, I saw his divorce record, it exists, case closed?"
We know less about Obama than we've ever known about any US president. No grades, no transcripts, no writings. What's truly scary about the situation is how the media is a-okay with going along with that because "reporters" like Silva and Zajac have such a crush on Obama.

"Birthers" and "Teasbagers" and all these people are so wrong, but hey, first amendment guarantees then the right to express their points, until many courts have exhausted common sense and logic, after that they are nothing but very ignorant people who think they OWN this country.

We think they're nutjobs, but to the best of my knowledge at least, none of them have wasted the time of a court like this woman has. If they did, fine the crap out of them too. I also don't recall any serving military officers being associated with the truthers, and refusing to follow orders as a result. If there were, they should be court martialed, as should officer involved in this case.

The Certificate of Live Birth is a certified copy and what the DOH issues. It is legal evidence in the U.S. and in any U.S. court of natural born citizenship. Your choice to be defiant and delusional is irrelevant. And your obliviousness to the obvious is more scary.

PS-Before anyone points out that he was born on a US base (in the Canal Zone) yes, he was. But he was born before the law was enacted that would make that count as being a natural born US citizen.

I wish all of the "birthers" would stop to think about this: if there was any kind of valid claim that Obama was not a US citizen and not eligible to run for office, don;t you think Hillary Clinton, John McCain, Mitt Romney or a host of others who ran for president last year would've picked up on it?? They had staffs digging around to find every possible thing existing to discredit Obama - but somehow they missed this issue?? Not plausible. I have yet to see a "birther" respond to the fact that two Hawaiian newspapers carried the birth announcement that Barack Obama's parents placed shortly after he arrived. Tell me, if you can, how something like that could have been rigged or staged or fixed. Anyone? I didn't think so.

All the birth certificates I have seen - and I have seen plenty since I helped Army Officers who had to fill out their Top Secret Clearance Applications, along with seeing enlistment packets. - had on them the hospital or address (if born at home), Dr's Name, Mother's and Father's name, address and occupation. Obama's Certificate doesn't have that information on it. According to Army Regs the certificate he presented could NOT be used.

Obviously, this judge is a left-wing socialist lunatic who is in the tank for Obama, otherwise he wouldn't dismiss this case in a barefaced attempt to hide the fact that Obama was born on Ork and, if you ever got close enough to pull his mask off, you would find that he is actually Mork. Did anyone ask to see George Bush's birth certificate? Clinton's? Reagan's? Eisenhower's? or any other president's? Believe me, if Obama was not an American citizen, the Obama haters would have found that out long before the election. They dug deep to get some dirt on Obama and came up empty handed. The original birth records are kept under guard by the state officer whose duty is to guard them- by law they are not made available for public inspection. They are required to provide a certified copy of such record to those who are authorized to order and receive such copies, in whatever format deemed acceptable under state law. End of story.

They have never said that they saw the original birth certificate that was signed by the doctor, relative and a public official. For those who say, well other officials have verified it, why would you rely on someone else for information that you could see for yourself. As to the newspaper notices. Those were generated when the announcements were sent by the Bureau of Vital Statitics to the newspapers for publications. The parents and grandparents weren't invovled with the newspaper notices. If the were, all the parents wouldn't have sent out identical type announcements. The bottom line is, was Obama born in a Hawaii hospital or did one of his relatives report his birth information to the Bureau of Vital Statistics. That information can be answered by looking at the typed document from 1961. A document that has not been seen by anyone posting on this site.

While the Judge provided his opinion about the filed lawsuit. He did not request or examine the evidence claimed to be in dispute.

While the lawyers method was found to worthy of a fine. The Judges inabilty to examine or request evidence to provide a legal and just ruling is just as worthy of a $20,000 fine.
