When President Barack Obama delivered his first televised address to a joint session of Congress, Republican Gov. Bobby Jindal of Louisiana delivered the GOP counterpoint on television.
When Obama arrived in New Orleans today for his first visit as president, he had to quiet some critics of the governor at a boisterous town hall.
"Bobby is doing a good job,'' Obama told the crowd, quelling jeers.
"Bobby,'' Obama said, "if it makes you feel any better, I get that all the time...
"Even if we have our differences politically, one thing I have to say is this (governor) is working hard for the people of his state,'' the president said of a Republican who sometimes has been mentioned as a potential candidate for president.
Jindal, too, has credited Obama's team with applying a more practical and flexible approach to the reconstruction process in the hurricane-stricken region. "There's a sense of momentum and a desire to get things done," the governor said of the government's efforts in August.
Jindal's own reviews after his rebuttal to Obama earlier this year weren't as complimentary - with some likening him to Mr. Rogers or Kenneth.
"Let's be clear, the president is a great speaker probably the greatest we've seen in a generation,'' Jindal said of the criticism. "I'm certainly not nearly as good of a speaker as he is. And I'm not the only one that's got that opinion.''
And a "yes we can'' crowd in New Orleans today was pumping up the president, who delievered some more off-the-script remarks -- he's going to get a health-care bill this year, he said, insisting he doesn't get tired, and no one is stopping him.

Watch it Bobby, the base is going to get mad if you say nice thingfs about Deomcrats at all, let alone Obama. Just ask Lindsey Graham. Pretty soon you'll have the Teabaggers screaming that you are a "traitor" too. Civility and cooperation is forbidden in the modern Republican Party.

Kenneth "The Page' Jindal is a joke. Along with the rest of GOPer leadership, he's been bashing the economic stimulus and at the very same time he's running around all over La. handing out big stimulus checks and trying to take the credit for it.

Nick,
Not only can Jindal expect to see the foaming at the mouth Teabaggers holding up misspelled signs, next thing you know they'll be demanding to see his birth certificate.

Don't you just want to see a Jindal/Palin ticket? Maybe he can wear the red cardigan and she can wear a matching lipstick.

When folks in New Orleans heard the president was coming to visit, they immediately started packing their bags and fleeing the city for their lives. When they were reminded that the president was no longer George Bush, they ran back and started putting up WELCOME MR. PRESIDENT WE [HEART] YOU!!! signs.

When folks in New Orleans heard the president was coming to visit, they immediately began to dismantle the levees just to see him part the waters.

Interesting, we have on post from do it all over and have a fit joking about some alleged misspelled signs at Tea Party rallies. But we also have this from Nick, "thingfs about Deomcrats at all." Looks to me like "things" and "Democrats" are misspelled!
Then we have the usual Racist Bigoted BS from the Most Racist and Bigoted People on the Planet, the Loony Left. These racists love to spout their hate for all people. Secret Negro Ninjas! Oh my!!
Why is the Left so darn racist? Why does the Left hate black people, thinking that they can only get by in life because of some government handout? Why is the Left so hateful toward people in general? They could care less about the genocide in Darfur. Look the other way, the Racist, Bigoted, Hateful Left says!
Racists, bigots, hateful people. That's what the Left is all about.

Those pictures are a real scream, Jason. I especially loved the misspelled posters that demand the use of English in this country.
.
However, I have to ask: Why would anyone want to see Bobby Jindal’s birth certificate?

Oh Dumb Dumb Janet, why is it that all your partners ask the same question: Don't you ever clean there?

Four hours the president spent in Louisiana. Twelve hours he spent in San Francisco speaking at a $3400 a couple fund-raiser later in the day. See where his priorities lie? Obviously, not too many millionaire lefties in New Orleans like SF. Why didn't he just drop copies of his photo op speech from AF One as he flew over?
