Republicans are accusing the Obama White House of an offensive offensive strategy for confronting its critics -- which lately include FOX News Channel's most vocal commentators. The White House says it's simply trying to keep the record straight.
And Chicago-based friends of the president take exception to that "Chicago-style politics'' charge that the House Republican leader leveled at President Obama -- "cracks at my city,'' friend and adviser Valerie Jarrett calls it.
Sen. Lamar Alexander of Tennessee, on the Senate floor, has accused the president of reviving the old "enemies list'' of Nixon days , this from a guy who served the Nixon White House as a young man. Those enemies include the insurance industry.
And now House Republican Leader John Boehner says the White House's attack tactics are nothing short of "Chicago-style politics.''
"The White House and congressional Democrats know that their liberal special-interest agenda is not very popular,'' Boehner (R-Ohio) said at his weekly press briefing on Thursday. "And now they are following a familiar pattern: when you can't win an argument based on the facts, launch vicious political attacks.
"This Chicago-style politics is shutting the American people out and demonizing their opponents,'' Boehner asserted.
"They are writing the health care bill in secret, even though the president called for all of this to be out on an open table and have C-SPAN cameras in the room,'' he said. "Instead, Democrats are targeting those who don't fall immediately in line - the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, doctors, Fox News.
"The administration promised during the campaign that they were going to usher in an era of 'post-partisanship' in here in Washington,'' the House Republican leader said, "but what they are doing is flat-out despicable."
Jarrett, one of the president's closest advisers and a friend from Chicago, was in Chicago this morning, where she told MSNBC's Morning Joe -- see the video above -- that the White House is trying to be "clear and direct '' with the public with a goal of passing health-care legislation this year.
"We're not going to let distortions get in the way of delivering health care to the people,'' said Jarrett, asked about Boehner's comments. "It's not an attack, it's nothing other than trying to speak directly with people, so that they understand what's in the bill'' and health care is passed this year.
Asked on-air by the editor of Oprah Winfrey's O magazine about the meaning of Chicago politics - and if it entails responding when attacked, Jarrett said: "That's exactly right. I'm home in Chicago (this morning). I really don't like people taking cracks at my city. I love this town.''

Ya gotta love how the GOP is always looking out for our President. Always ready with a dose of healthy construcitve criticism or friendly advice.
Lamar of course gave the same advice to President CheneyBush over the last eight years, as he voted for warrantless wiretapping, the Patriot Act, defended torture, and spoke out against open government requests.....Except he didn't.
Except Lamar Alexander is saying this in defense of Fox News. May he step out his front door this morning and be smacked in the head by a giant falling brick of hypocrisy.

Has any one ask the Repugs why they care so much about the Obama administration?
Senator Demint (R-SC)-- "Obama's water loo". Rush--"I want Obama to Fail". If they really believe in what they are all saying, why do they care? After all, their forecast will come to fruition and they will be victorious, right?
It seems to be based in their unwillingness to accept their wholesale rejection by the American public last November.
Reality has a liberal bias, and so they attempt to create their own, and sink deeper into sociopathy to do it.

The Republican-Libertarian's convoluted logic, looks something like this: Maybe we can get the country to forget about our sisters-in-crime, the Weasels of Wall Street or the Bandits in the Boardrooms and distract them with anything that was the fault of the Incompetent Duo, of Cheney&Bush !!. What jokes these lame Republican-Libertarians are !! They can't even find an honest point of attack. They are on a hit-or-miss mission. We gotta find something that can stop President Obama from doing the right thing for America, otherwise, we can say good-bye to nation prominence for the next 20-30 years. Don't worry boys and girls of the Republican-Libertarian Party, we will be a lot fairer to you, than you were to us, the Democrats, when you had all the power !! In the meantime, find some logical, reasonable argument for not supporting President Obama and his attempts at restoring our economy, the one which you and the Bush&Cheney fringe so completely undermined !! Good luck and happy hunting, boys and girls of the Incompetent party, the Republican-Libertarian Party !!

Karl Rove accused the White House of keeping an enemies list on Fox News Sunday last weekend. And now we have Alexander following suit. For someone complaining that the White House is being unfair in claiming that Fox News is a communications arm of the Republican party, Alexander is certainly doing a good job of proving it as he does it. My only question might be which one is leading and which is following? I would imagine it's Fox following since I'm pretty sure Hannity gets all of his talking points straight from the RNC.

Those "nattering nabobs of negativism" of which VP Spiro Agnew spoke back in that day are now owned and operated by the NeoCon Corporatist RethugliKKKlans. The GOP is now the Party of No, or the Party of Dog, depending upon your perspective, instead of that "loyal opposition" that still has the greater interests of the country at heart. The patients are now running the asylum. If insanity is defined as a deviation from the social norm, does that mean that sociopathic misogyny is now mainstream? By all appearances, that appears to be so.
The Republican Nixon's "enemies list" meme has devolved into "if you're not with us, then you're against us" and "if you're against us, then you're "enemy combatants" or "terrorists" - and "since you are all under suspicion unless you took the personal GW Bush loyalty oath, we're going to totally surveil everyone'' meme of todays Republican party.. THAT is the terrain through which the American people are now traversing ...
Pres. Obama didn't initiate these Constitutionally perverse actions - BushCo and the "American Taliban" GOP did.

Nixon might have been a sneaky crook and a lying sack of crap, but he’s still miles ahead of Bush in competency.
Are Boehner and Alexander complaining about some specific ethics violations, or are they just really sad that everyone in the White House isn’t running around with their heads up their asses anymore?
Please keep throwing crap against the walls, GOP. By 2010, you’ll be covered in it again.

It really is amusing how the left has moved from the racist rants, to the "Repukes, KKK, NeoCon" terms, as a way of arguing. I'm an Independent, disgusted with both sides. But I'm open enough to see that Obama and his thugs are not listening to anyone but those who agree. Where's the transparency? That bill could easily be put online for all to see when they're finished. They contend it's not possible. Why don't we get a group of 5th graders to help them? I have an open mind about it, but I'd still like to see it in it's final form before it's voted on. Obama may be very intelligent, but with moves like this, he's putting himself on the same level as GW. What a disappointment!

The extreme left democrats fought Bush from day one. They only rallied to support immediately after 9/11, but even then many still tried to undermine every Bush initiative. They fought against reforming Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac (housing collapse followed). "Dissent is patriotism" was their mantra. But now speaking against obama is unpatriotic. Bush was regularly called a liar, Hitler, Nazi, stupid, etc. But disagree with obama and you are a racist. obama is a fascist. He started out offering the republicans a fist - remember his "I won, get over it"? He has a person on his staff who praised Mao. He had a communist on his staff. He has several tax cheats. obama has taken over two auto companies. He is controlling the pay of executives. He is removing statues to keep the unions honest. He wants to take away the right to a secret ballot in union elections. He praises countries that chant "death to America" and insults our allies. He is ruining all of the progress in Irag and Afganistan by voting "present". He has doubled the national debt in only 9 months. His stimulas package was largely pork that rewarded his special interest. He plans to expand government control and power. He wants to make my health insurance cost more and to provide worst coverage - so that the unproductive can have another giveaway and vote democrat. he's a fascist with socialist leanings. He is a real joke, just like being nominated for the Nobel prize during his first week in office.

This discussion is typical of the vitriol in our present social discourse. It started in earnest with GWB's disputed election in 2000, but has it's roots in Clinton's impeachment. The right is in shambles after Bush; the left is using its newly reaquired power to jam its entire decades long agenda through before people catch on -- Peolisi, Reid, Rahm and Obama are minor league amateurs compared to the LBJ's and O'Neil's of times gone by .... for this reason, they will ultimately fail -- if the dems are not careful, they will loose the house and senate, and our next president's name will be Sarah.

He is the great divider. We are even more divided and vicious now than we were under Bush. Just look at the posts here - the great divider has created 2 sets of Americans.

When I wake up and see a child has been molested and killed and liberals are fighting for rights of the perpetrator and conservatives are fighting for justice for the child, I know conservative ideology is probably the right choice. In fact, I am sickened by so many liberals who are in love with child molesters.

I have a question that I'd like to have answered by anyone with a well reasoned opinion: what state do you think that this country will be in at the end of Obama's presidential term? What will unemployment, our standard of living and our budget deficit look like? Will we be better off than we were at the start of Obama's administration? I’m not really interested in excuses about why some things may or may not be achieved. I’m interested in what results you think this president will actually realize. These results could be positive OR negative?

Dedicated to infiltrating the Dem party and destroying it from within.

3 of Obama’s mentors from his Chicago days studied at a school Alinsky founded, and they taught their students the philosophy and methods of one of the first “community organizers.
On his campaign website, there was a photo of Obama in a classroom teaching students Alinskian methods. He stands in front of a blackboard on which he has written ‘Relationships Built on Self Interest,’ an idea illustrated by a diagram of the flow of money from corporations to the mayor.”
Alinsky’s son wrote that “the Democratic National Convention had all the elements of the perfectly organized event, Saul Alinsky style. . . . Barack Obama’s training in Chicago by the great community organizers is showing its effectiveness. It is an amazingly powerful format, and the method of my late father always works to get the message out and get the supporters on board. When executed meticulously and thoughtfully, it is a powerful strategy for initiating change and making it really happen. Obama learned his lesson well.

Based on his White House Czars and political appointments who admire Mao, he is a Communist, ( check), and based on which countries' leaders like him and shmooze him, he is a tyrant wanna be.(check).
Ok, now I know him better than we did when he was elected.

I love how the liberals on this discussion are pulling the hypocrisy card. How dumb can you be? The whole point of the article is that it's politcs as usual for the Obama administration, just like every other administration. The issue is that Obama said his administration would be transparent.
Also, the super ironic part is that liberals love to cry hypocrisy when conservatives say something and do another - that's what Obama is doing!! I love simplemindedness.

Gee, Senator Byrd, in a wheelchair, is pushed into the senate. And, Reid didn't even see it coming.
But Byrd HALTED the democrapic 'roll out' Obama thought would happen. Didn't. All the repubilcans stayed glued together. And, 12 Blue Dogs, plus Senator Byrd, showed Reid, and hence, the White House, that the oldest dog in the senate showed the 'Chicago bunch' the meaning of 'getting out of bed' and holding the votes up to scale back ... what now seems obvious. Byrd doesn't like Obama. He also didn't like Hillarycare. History repeats.
Anyway, with elections coming on November 3rd, what happens if Corzine's $40-million ... only bought him good press? And, then, what happens if that press doesn't deliver?
Acorn's also on the ropes. How do I know this, even though the legacy media is quiet? Well, I don't go to them for my news. And, I know the benefits you get from 'word of mouth.'
There's a reason so many people are tuning into Obama's FAILURES. He's made the politcal mistakes. And, of course. IF he changes his crew, perhaps, he could reinvent himself? But will he choose, instead, to just be nasty?

Mao biographers Jung Chang and Jon Halliday also document how
this horror represented
The natural order of things for Mao.
Indeed,
while millions of his people were starving to death
The dictator
habitually informed his inner circle that it did not matter if people
died
And that, in fact, death was to be deemed a cause for celebration
and rejoicing.
This was because, naturally, destruction was necessary
in order for the earthly heaven to be built.
Mao wished destruction not

DOES THIS NOT SOUND EXACTLY LIKE THE KIND OF UTOPIA
THIS NARCISSISTIC FREAKISH OBAMA IS TRYING TO MAKE HAPPEN???????
As he explained:
"This applies to the country, to the nation, and to

Even SNL, hardly a "right wing" lackey recognized Obama's lack of accomplishments. Since taking office, Obama has managed to take a sour economy and drive it right into the ground. Nearly 2/3rds of the American economy is predicated on consumer spending. With nearly 10% unemployment and the prospect of higher taxes at every corner (tax and cap, health care, expiration of the Bush tax cuts) the liklihood of any recovery is essentially non-existent. Add in the government control of banks, the automotive industry, and soon to be the health care industry, and it is apparent that economic recovery is impossible.
There is no question that Obama and his cronies are trying to control every aspect of the media and squelch any dissent. If this approach is not Stalinesque, I don't know what is? The Obama administration's actions have surpassed any notion of "favortism" and they are rapidly approaching a heavy handed form of censorism.
Many people on this site have touched on the potential for revolution in America. I say this to all of my liberal friends. Be very mindful who owns the firearms in this country.

To all you libs, this country is a center right country, always has been, always will be. The problem with America is that life is to good, and the good people that comprise it (all races/ creeds/ religions) came here for a better slice of life because we are still the shining city on the hill. Unfortunately we have raised several generations that are nothing more than cry babies. They cry that they have to work for anything ( look at the 2nd bill of rights that FDR wanted). The founding generation of this country could do and acheive anything without help from a government.
It is so sad to see how far we have moved from the founders. Its sad that the "Greatest generation" gave birth to the worst generation ever, the "Baby Boomers" in my opinion are the greatest disgrace history has ever seen.
There parents won the largest war in all of history, trully fighting against the forces of "Evil".
They came home and gave birth to a generation of mis- contents that questioned the very freedom that there parents fought and died for.
You liberals truly make me sick, you have the best of what the world/ humanity can offer. You can do, and acheive anything your imagintation can create, but yet you whine and say, I need guarunteed health care, gainfull employment, a Mc Mansion, guarunteed entertainment, and on and on and on...
You libs make me sick, you are given the greatest gift there is (the gift of existence/ and self awareness) and all you do is whine. I think most of you would be more happy if you were just a worker ant. Afterall you would not have to worry about any of life's little problems, of course you would work until you die, and nobody would think much more of you after that, but hey no pesky life decisions right!
If the human condition was meant to be lived under a collective system, than we would not have "Free Will" and we would respond to our "Queen/ Leader" with out hesitation.
I am sorry, I think for my self, but if you think that I am going to pay for someone's home/ food/ utilities/ transportation/ day care/ cell phones/ cable tv/ internet......... to able bodied people who think it is there right because they were born, then you have another thing coming!!!
This country is on the edge of another cival war, and I wonder which side has all the guns!!! I do not think it is the worker drones!

I wish the liberals would put their partisan feelings aside and look at this White House objectively -- All the Dems are doing is taking our money, giving it away to people and groups that have no beneficial effects on society, and demonizing anyone who dares mention their lies and distortions, their cheating and their stupidity.
Obama is a tool, he was chosen by the left as a win-win candidate because he's black, they knew they could use the old racism ploy to tarnish anyone who calls him out on his failings.
Blacks should be very upset that they finally have one of their own in the White House, not because he's actually qualified for the job, but because white liberals USED him to get their agenda through. Then again, that's what the left does with minorities -- it placates them with promises and shiny things so that they'll stay subservient to the Left.

Secret meetings vs. transparency as promised, capping unemployment at 8%, bipartisan attitude - Obama has cut the republicans out of every dicussion and holds a two hour meeting with the far left liberal media. Before calling Republicans hypocrits, the Domocrats need to look in their backyard first.
Posted by: Mark | October 22, 2009 10:27 PM
what comes first? the total collapse of our economic system under the weight of the bush gop and the hyper inflated obama dems, or a total change in politics as usual? obama has apologized to the world for america, pushed through trillion dollar spending bills without debate, demeaned business and investors, and plans cap and trade, health bills, immigration reform that will break the back of this country. at this point, i honestly believe he is trying to destroy the nation so it can be remade in his image of marxist world government. if that is not the case, he is just totally clueless. you can't ruin the business and investment environment in this nation and expect jobs or growth to return. that is where jobs are created without any debt put on our children and grandchildren. obama lied about seeding infrastructure, transparency, and bringing the country together. instead he has filled his shadow government with marxists and communists. the dems will not survive the next election. hopefully this inexperienced president will be able to adapt as clinton did in '94.

Posted by: DAK | October 22, 2009 10:30 PM
I'd say the big problem is that the Republican leadership is too far to the right, and the Democratic leadership is too far to the left. Republicans should have protected customers from the abuses/trickery of the health insurance companies. Democrats now want to use that to take more power for themselves via the "public option", or government takeover of health care. Regardless, we just can't afford what it would cost to give coverage to everyone. Got that? Can't afford it. And yet, if it's defeated, the Republicans still won't insist on insurance companies living up to their contracts and offering reasonable coverage to everyone. The middle class has already lost this contest. Only the fringe right and left are left to fight over the scraps.

Why is it the the Liberals here have resorted to outright hostility and name-calling?
The Obama administration has pulled a bait-and-switch moving from the campaign trail to the White House. There is no transparency, bills expanding government and the deficit have been signed a-plenty, and jobs aren't being made.
Screw it all! If the healthcare meetings are all secretive and undisclosed, the American people have a perfectly good reason to be suspicious and angry. If the government has promised to make jobs and has failed, the American people have a perfectly good reason to be pissed (by the way, the free market is best at creating jobs, not the government).
There are tyrants in the government, and Obama has been their front man. But he is not one of them. He's a puppet, sure. Socialism is something he truly believes in. But it's those underneath him (Reid, Feinberg, and especially Pelosi) who are taking advantage of his executive position to pull strings and set out subjugating their enemies and the populace for who-knows-what reasons; the best of the best (including administration idols Mao, Castro, and Che, among others) have already done what they're doing for very few reasons, the largest among them being power.
People like Pelosi will get the clue come 2010: This is a free country, not their country.

Regular Americans, can you hear it in the libcom posts? The sreechy tone, their scared to dealth! They don't even bother with facts or logic (not that they ever do) but they just add in their little lie's to top off thier nasty remarks, We know that President Bush never attacked the media ,maybe he should have. And how many democrats voted for the Iraq war? All of them, how many libcom democrats voted for the patriot act? All of them.
And normal people know that lamar alexander was 27 years old when he worked for nixon, not exactly a right hand guy of the president, but a low level appointee. Unlike Osamabama's appointee's, mr.alexander was not a communist, or homosexual pervert, or tax cheat..
Osamabama, has become a joke, a get nothing done, tax and spend marxist. No one needs to make these things up about our president. He has no problem telling people he's a socialist, and he told us to judge him by the people he surrounds himself with. Well, they are all communist wing nutt's who hate america, come on folks! we all know now,why Osambama can't release his Masters Thesis.because bo wrote words that sound just like the words comming from the mouths of his appointee's, like jones, sunstrum and the lady who thinks mao is groovy. It would be a good idea for a contest though The name the obama masters thesis, win a trip to Chicago. They don't like the message at the white house guy's, the message is that Osambama is at 49% approval, we have a 17% unemployment rate and rising,13 trillion in debt the dollar is dying, taxes are skyrocketing, and we have administration that is waging war on an american news outlet, and sitting on it's hands in the face of a real enemy in Afghanistan! Afghanistan the place where during the campaign (or the made for tv movie that was his campaign) , Osamabama said time and again that Afghanistan was the place where we should be fighting. Turns out that was just part of the script, aimed at pulling your vote strings. Everything that this phoney president has done since day one is designed to weaken America. And so far he has been very successful, now if Osamabama can just cram stalin care down our throats in secret, release all the terrorists from Cuba, and get all those CIA guy's locked up. This very well could be the final straw for our mystery president, The Demcoms are already going to get crushed in 2010, let's hope we still have a nation by then. Oh and if your in the dark about Chicago politics (good for you) though you may just want to read some Chicago newspapers from the last few years, you can see the gutter that this Osamabama crawled out of, with the help of saul, rev wright, daley, soros, the government run media and mao

Will they still pretend they are patriots when they are firring on the soldiers they claim to support? Will they still claim to love america when they are destroying our democracy? I kow that if the right acts on their treasonous revolutionary rheoric that I will be fighting them, standing with our brave men and women in the armed forces, under the Star Spangled Banner. I will die a patriot, not a traitor, uinlike the blood thirsty right, who are siding with Al Qaeda in their desire to kill Americans and destroy the United States.

Waste of time to even comment on this. To you alien democrat crackpots out there, the true American silent majority is about to speak. The time has come for change. Change you can believe in. Not the chicago mafia union politics we have now. Bye, bye GM government motors. You'll be the first casualty from selling out the American people. I'd ride my bike to work before I'd buy a gm vehilce.

IF Obama really engaged in Chicago-style politics, health-care reform would be a done deal before it was announced and Guantanamo inmates would be sitting in prisons run by his buddies
Come on people. If you want to criticize Obama, fine. I don't have a problem with that. Just stop spewing fox/RNC talking points that sound good but don't mean anything.

Hey 'A true Patriot' ... your country is well on it's way to being dead. Conservatives love this country and despise the enemies in the political majority who are determined to hollow it out -- we simply won't allow that to happen. If you're so determined to stand in our way as we take this place back from the Socialists, you will get your wish (and the troops won't be with your ilk).

Alexander worked in the Nixon admin no more than a page with a law degree. He had nothing to do with Watergate and was never even suspected of wrong doing. Saying anthing otherwise would be like saying all men that worked under Clinton cheated on thier wives. Sounds stupid huh? So show some brains and dont go there. Rush stated he want Obama's policies to fail. End of story on that one. The"ONE" has over reached and under performed and the liberals know it. He is toast and so are the democrats in 2010

Civil war is looming. There is a great divide between conservatives and liberals and it is only getting wider. There is no middle ground anymore.

I am stuck in the middle between the conservatives and the loony left. I have never voted for a Republican in my life, but that is about to change in 2010.
What Obama is trying to do in almost every aspect of his administration borders on ludicrous.
You don't tax your way out of a depression.
You don't spend more money than all of the past administrations combined within the first year in office and refuse to publish proposed legislation before it is voted on. Especially when it involves TRILLIONS of dollars.
You don't nitpick a news organization that is opposed to your views (case in point, what woulld have happended loony left if W did this to MSNBC?).
You don't take over corporations and regulate pay to their executives.
You don't reward people who snuck into the country with citizenship, free healthcare and social services. Otherwise, why even have a green card/immigration policy?
I am for the people, but the people have to be willing to roll up their sleeves and do some work to earn what they receive.
This handout mentality either needs to stop or we will all be learning how to speak Mandarin when the Chinese take over American by cashing in the T-bills they are holding and we can't pay them back.
Please deliver the change your promised Mr. President. Start with some transparency. And, please, stop acting like a spoiled brat if someone opposes your view.

Dear Donald & Co
I think you have your facts backward as democrats often do. The event that set off the housing boom of the 1990s that everyone says was brought about by the genius of Clinton (Dem) and Greenspan (Rep) was a direct result of the changes passed by the congress and the president to the Community Reinvestment Act of 1977 under Carter. Mr Frank (Dem) commissioned his boyfriend at the time (yes they were "partners") to look into and change the credit requirements at Freddy Mac and Fanny May for people applying for mortgages. Under the pre 1993 rules the credit requirements at both government finance companies were comparable to those of commercial banks. After Mr Frank and company got done you required one or more of three things to get o mortgage; credit counseling, welfare pay stub or a job. The direct result of these changes was that anyone with a pulse could get a mortgage and ; they did, hence the great housing boom that followed throughout Clinton's presidency. All of these changes were passed in 1993 by both houses which were controlled by the dems as well as the White house. The rules regarding mortgages were all changed and written in stone before the end of 1993 and well before the Republican takeover of the houses in 1994. Once those changes were made things went from bad to worse for our "bubble economy" and the artificial boom that followed and later exploded conveniently on President Bush's watch. If you are going to criticize the excesses of any party then learn your history and get your facts straight first.

First, I will admit to voting for Mr. Obama,. Now I suffer tremendous regret and embarassment. It has become painfully clear that Pres. Obama really is in over his head -- which is really sad because I had such hopes.
Mr. Obama has managed, in 10 months to torpedo every single revenue generating or demographic sector in this country -- from healthcare, to manufacturing, to small business, to middle class, to trade and currency, -- you name it, and he has truly, truly, messed it up. I am not believing what I am witnessing. I now beleive we will now see hyperinflation, double digit unemployment and runaway deficit within 18 months.
The truly unfortunate part is that his naivete, arrogance (sorry, but true), and incompetence, will, whether because of racism or whatever, ruin the chances for any other candidate of color to achieve such a lofty goal. If like-minded centrists or center-lefts would be honest, they will also admit that we have made a mistake, a huge mistake, that will destroy this country. Not since George W's second term have I realized what harm one incompetent person can do to a country.
I am sick to my stomach.

where to start, first off I blame the public schools for the vast amount of libcom dim wits that sat for 12-15 years, right through high school, yet learned nothing regarding the Constitution or the founding documents of this nation. Perhaps that's how they do it, that's how they indoctrinate so many fish brains, into buying into the monsterous lie that is liberalism, socialism, communism, national socialism, an ideology that has been a plague for mankind. responsible for 150 million people being Murdered put to death by the state, those figures don't even include war deaths caused. liberalism is truly a mental disorder. The modern liberal agenda preys on weakness and feelings of inferiority in the population by:
•creating and reinforcing perceptions of victimization;
•satisfying infantile claims to entitlement, indulgence and compensation;
•augmenting primitive feelings of envy; through class warfare
•rejecting the sovereignty of the individual, subordinating him to the will of the government.
So please, regular Americans you should remember this when your responding to people thus inflicted. Emotion is the land the libcom operates in, fact and or logic are discarded. First off, the United States is not a democracy. The founders found it to be messy, and bloody, and very hard on the minority. Thus they discarded democracy as a form of government for their new country. And instead instituted what is known as a Representive Republic. You may remember through your pot haze, that stanza in the Pledge of Allegiance "and to the Republic" for which it stands. So for that(a true patriot) who is out there, maybe it will ease your Chemically imbalanced mind, to know that nobody hates our democracy or America. They do hate the fact that our mystery president is a joke, who is playing very dangerous games with the Republic which most people love. If what you say is true mr.patriot, if young enough you should join the troops, or if to old or homosexual, you could write a letter to the President emploring him to send the Commanding General on the ground, a man That the president hand picked, the troops he has requested. I must say, it is nice to hear the left sticking up for troops!! Here Here, it only took eight years to get you guys aboard, but welcome.
Chicago style indeed, perhaps moscow style would be better. Which news outfit will be next, better stay in line y'all

Having an Enemies List is no different, whether a D or an R. Unless there is a double standard. But we all know that isn't the case. And that is what makes this pretty scary. Because when popular culture approves of something that is as insidious as a rogue administration, what happens is a lot more abuses that are passed over than when the 'indignant press' has a chance to register its opposition.

After reading the vicious comments (Rockland Steel for example) about President Obama, liberals, etc. The accusation from Representive Boehner, that the GOP has and currently uses. "And now they are following a familiar pattern: when you can't win an argument based on the facts, launch vicious political attacks." They are complaining when the White House hits back. Would they prefer President Obama just sit there and take it? Don't be surprised when he pushes back! If you want to criticize, base it on a legitimate point. Such as that they miscalculated about the amount that unemployment would rise to. Not marxism, gestapo and other similar nonsense. Lets see if the Republicans will work with President Obama to fix unemployment or get in a political tussle to score points and have us go back for more of the previous eight years. Anyone want that?

"Weasels of Wall Street"... I love it. Some of the biggest Democratic contributors around are Wall Street people, especially Goldman Sachs. The bailout/stimulus was primarily a Democrat thing, and it didn't do anything except make banks very profitable in the last two quarters, and spend almost a trillion in taxpayer money. Both sides have done stupid things, but stop acting like the Right has a monopoly on Wall Street, because that's just not accurate.

I think he is yet another figure head for the MIlitary Industrial Complex and the Banksters, and his every move divides this country further. The illusionary polarity that is so intensified by this man is dangerous to the common good. He is a criminal, he has robbed us all of our future, and the wealth of this nation by handing it over to the Banksters, who continue to pursecute the people with bad debt, no credit and no loans for new business to offer jobs. Nothing good has ever come out of Chicago, including my family. This administration continues to lie to the people, Dems Wake Up! you have no control, you have no ally in this man...he hates America, he despises us and lies through his condesending teeth. I am NOT charmed by his retoric and neither should you.

Case in point, awhile back when Eunice Shriver was buried she received much praise for her life's devotion to making life better for God's "chosen children". Isn't it a cruel irony that today's democrat party is comfortable with a platform that would willingly abort those children for convenience?

Chicago Style rat a tat, tat, can't get any closer to the truth when calling this administration out for the way they have begun to play hardball with any of their opposition. Before their approval ratings went down, they counted on their followers to do the attacking for them, allowing them a free ride. Now that things have changed and the public support is dropping off quickly, they've decided to come out of hiding and work over anyone who happens to be in their way. Will it work, the answer is no. A Peace Prize Messiah can't be seen as a Prized Fighter and Warmonger too.
Posted by: Randyrocker | October 23, 2009 1:39 AM
What cracks me up about all the liberal posts on these blogs is that you all fall prety to your past arguments. For instance, "the media has to act as watch dog to the BUSH administration" but NOT to the Obama administration. ONE, JUST ONE lowly media outlet is critical of Obama and you folks can't hack it-- all of a sudden, your precious president can't be criticized or critiqued. And Obama says he's "not losing any sleep over" the Fox News coverage....yeah right!! Then why does he keep bringing it up?!!
But through all this, all you libs seem to miss out on "the big picture". That is, the fact that while Obama's administration attacks FoxNews and talk radio, they simultaneously slip further into bed with other media agencies (ie, giving direct access to MSNBC, or cutting Conan O'Brien promos, etc, etc). Pretty soon there will be NO credible media left!! They are all so busy doing Obama's dirty work and covering his tracks and trying to make him look perfect, they are selling their souls to the devil. This is wrong and has to stop.
Credible journalism is truly dead.

Now, who of you liberals out there would like to tackle topics such as the Constitutionality of socialized health care, bailouts, government ownership of previously private enterprises, net neutrality, gun control, central banks, and deficits of 1.3 trillion or more?

In my opinion the basis of some of these cultural origins are in fact the Abraham Lincoln use of Chicago as a W.W. II style Japanese prisoner of War camp for Confederate soldiers. As ridiculous as this sound, I believe the Democratic administration of Chicago Ill. is in fact a forced usurpation of that prison mentality and culture. This may be a direct outgrowth of that civil war experience. As such, the question arises as to whether basic American Constitutional and moral rights exist in Chicago and the state which it controls. If Chicago residents do not control a free environment, and there appears to be evidence to say that such normalcy is absent; it is the obligation of the US government to intervene and reestablish copacetic order.

Come on people.... everyone wants to say that the criticism of ACORN and others is too much... Okay, then why are they being investigated in many states? Also, why is the President attached with them? Why did so many think he was the way to go when his experience in politics was very little? Open your eyes, and see what is going on, I don't need people like Rush or Beck, or Olberman, to tell me what is going on.... Just read the news, and listen... it is not hard. Too many don't want to keep up with current events, and just go with what people around them are saying. You have to be actively keeping up with things to see all that is going on, and right now, I am not liking where our country is going. Yes, this administration is trying to ramrod too many things through, and they did not realize that the things that they want is too large to pass through in such a short time. Most countries that have national health care started after the war, and were basically new economies... easier to implement when you are starting new, like Germany. We cannot look at these big ticket plans until our economy is up, and much stronger.

This is not republican vs democrat. This is a very troubling issue facing AMERICA. Instead of trying the tried and true methods of fighting a very bad economy as Kennedy, reagan and Bush, Obama continues to soend money AMERICA does not have. The forementioned presidents gave tax breaks and incentives to the private sector to increase jobs and build the economy, This worked 100% of the time it was used. With unemployment at 9.8% don't you think if he really wanted to help the job market and stir the economy he would follow their collect lead? Why are we allowing this man to spend our childrens and grandchildrens money? They will be paying the interest on this now $13,000,000,000,000.00 national bebt for their entire lives without paying down the principle. This is a shame on all the people for allowing this!

I didnt vote for him, but I also dont want to see Obama fail because then "we" all fail in the end. The "hype" surrounding Obama has ended and the rest of the world is watching our country fail.
I know Obama means well. I dont question that. It just seems that he would put a million dollars in every american's pockets if he could. Could you imagine the inflation of that?
Obama has to try being a bit more pessimistic when coming up with all the plans to save our country. All this optimism with the "miraculous" fix isn't gonna solve anything at this point.
Posted by: Jay | October 23, 2009 4:29 AM
I must agree that Obama can't take a punch. A real man takes on the critics on substance. Obama and his Obamabots in the press and the left simply calls them "unAmerican". It seems to me that not long ago you on the left said "It is patriotic to dissent." I believed you then. Unfortunately, you don't believe you now.
Oh, and let's not forget the wonderful, tolerant, sweet lefties that continually call people "Nazis" rather than have a cogent argument with which to challenge their opponent.

The dollar is dying? That's actually great for our foreign trade deficit, which in turn will help lower the "cost" of our debt in real dollar terms much of which is owed to China. Would you rather pay China MORE money by having a stronger dollar in the world market. Don't you think the US needs to sell all those GM products that were made for no reason except to give people an income and something to do? A weaker dollar so we can sell goods overseas and attract tourism is actually a decent idea.
Funny thing is, many of the Republicans are the guys working the assembly line at GM and other bailout companies (including higher up execs at some bailout banks) who wouldn't actually HAVE jobs at all were it not for Obama and our current administration.

How long into this Obama administration will we be subjected to the anti-Bush hysteria? "Bush is a war criminal." "Bush lied." "Bush fought an illegal war." How about what your boy BO is doing up in Washington? Can't we focus on that?
9/11 happened because of the failed policies of Bill Clinton. The Clinton administration could have taken steps to prevent the 9/11 attackers (and bin Laden, most importantly) from roaming around and breathing the air of free men, but they took a different path. And after that horrific day, did the Bush administration ever once whine about things that they "inherited"? No, they took responsibility and got to work. This nonsense is becoming quite tiresome.

You sorry --- self-righteous loons need to read Capitalism and Freedom. If you're not a libertarian, you're an idiot. I don't like idiots telling me what to do (and if you didn't know there's a difference between a liberal and a libertarian, punch yourself in the face).
I hate you stupid feel good liberals. Take a course in how not to ruin other peoples lives by having your head up your ass.
First lessen: Government inefficiency and the abuse of power.
Second lesson: don't tread on me.
Third lesson: socialist countries have an average of 4 television stations because centralized planning destroys innovation and perverts the efficient resources of the economy.
Forth lesson: US consumers have access to hundreds of channels because capitalism breeds innovation, and creative destruction marginalizes the effects of down-ticks in the economy--no other economic system has come close to lifting more people out of poverty.
Fifth lesson: NO RESEARCH HAS EVER ESTABLISHED A CAUSAL EFFECT BETWEEN POLLUTION AND GLOBAL WARMING. YOU PSEUDO SCIENTISTS MAKE DEPLORABLE ASSUMPTIONS TO BIAS YOUR RESULTS SO YOU CAN WALK AROUND IN YOUR BIRKENSTOCK SANDALS AND PRETEND YOU KNOW SOMETHING.
Sixth lesson: If Milton Friedman is the father of global misery, the Marx Brothers are the fathers of airplane crashes, Thomas Edison is the father of the electric chair, Al Gore is the father of the internet (I'm being serial you guys, manbearpig, serially, why won't anybody listen to me?),
Final lesson: Barry NoBAMA is Dear Leader...wait, this last one didn't fit.
Anyway, Good luck America, and try not to let Fancy Pelousy Nobock YOmama and Barny Wank get you down. In the end, greedy liberal loons always wind up committing political suicide.
Sincerely,
The lovely liberation PhD economist who will always be smarter than you.

Robert Reich advocated in detail the cutting off of funds to elder patients and the lower funding of medical research, fully accepting that more people would die. Newsbusters quotes him:
"We're going to have to, if you're very old, we're not going to give you all that technology and all those drugs for the last couple of years of your life to keep you maybe going for another couple of months. It's too expensive...so we're going to let you die."

You all voted for change...you've got it! In reading the majority of posts here, I know you don't see things the same as the right, but you will. It just takes you longer, and I understand. One day when you wake up and no longer have the freedom to say the things YOU say, then you will understand. When you start paying more for your health care under this administration than through private companies, you will understand. So for now, you all can be the crybabies the left is known for. I have faith, someday you will grow up.

My fellow Americans...Please do not despair or resort to civil war speech.
I sense that those who voted for him are wishing they hadn't. YOU know who you are...YOU voted for change which sounded so good that YOU forget to ask exactly what kind of change he had in mind. YOU gave him what amounted to a checkbook full of endorsed, blank checks that he is cashing with disregard. He often states that the voters who elected him are his people and everyone else should just shut up, pick up a mop or get out of the way. It's not Obama's fault. YOU didn't read the fine print. YOU voted for him because he looked good, had good oral skills and a sense of humor and hated Bush. Pretty pathetic credentials to run the most powerful nation in the world-or what used to be the most powerful nation in the world. Are YOU going to continue to support this president? Are YOU going to follow him to the abyss? Our dollar is weakening; our unemployment crisis has been obfuscated by his manic obsession with health care. Do YOU understand? Arguing will get us nowhere. It’s a complete waste of time. Forget about defending a position that is indefensible. Facts are Facts. Let's not let him change the topic. We are heading in the wrong direction quickly and there is a real threat that the damage to our country will be difficult to reverse if not impossible.
His promised that the 800 BILLION DOLLAR stimulus package would add 3.5 million jobs and cap unemployment at 8% if we would IMMEDIATLEY sign it. We did and we have LOST 2.9 million jobs and unemployment is at 10%. Facts are facts and we must realize that we have a president who will over promise and under deliver. He will say anything to get his way. Do YOU still believe in his type of change? Do YOU still believe that this Health Care plan will save us money? Let’s not fight WITH each other but fight FOR each other.

The term "Chicago Style" politics sounds American, like midwest football - brutal, cold, dirty, ironman play. The of football that sells tickets and everyone loves to hate. The style of politics coming from this white house is European Facism, entirely Un-American!!!

Yosi Sargent politicizes the NEA from inside the Whitehouse, he resigns.
ACORN engages in activity that reveals a widespread pattern of corruption, the IRS and the Census Bureau cease partnerships with them and a democratically controlled congress completely ends federal funding.

So, just wondering, why aren't we hearing their cries of incompetence this year? Maybe it's just too hard to single out one area of incompetence when there are presently so many.

What jokes these lame Republican-Libertarians are !! They can't even find an honest point of attack. They are on a hit-or-miss mission. We gotta find something that can stop President Obama from doing the right thing for America, otherwise, we can say good-bye to nation prominence for the next 20-30 years. It is truly hard to conceive that Barak Obama will have us all soon looking back fondly to the Jimmy Carter Years as a good time in America.
Yes, the Repub Party was nealry down and out - just 11 months ago. But in that very brief time, this media-backed empty suit with NO qualifications for the CONUS position has lied so much, acted so paranoidly and so imperialistically that without the Repub Party actually having to do anything, BO's lies, non-stop campaign style (more lies) and ineptitude has brought them back to life single-handedly.
Will the Dems get turned out of Congress in sufficient numbers to fully thwart BO this time next year? Probably not. But will Barak's, Reid's, Pelosi's, Frank's and Dodd's arrogance be cuase for an Election Day embarrassment for the Dems? Most assuredly.
As the case has been made here already, America is and has always been center-right. With BO's ascendency combined with his unique arrogance, American's have begun to throw off the blinders of their Election Day political correctness and are slowly seeing our nation - one that in a mere 233 years has estabalished a standard of living unknown in previous world history - being gutted by people with clearly socialist tendencies.
Will America wake up quickly enough tot stop it though? Probably not. What I fear most of all that on this day in 2009, the individual citizen is held in virtual contempt by ALL of our 535 self absorbed politicians in Washington. Every bill introduced nowdays comes hand-in-hand with special interest deals written into laws (ones not even being read by legislators before they vote on them) and any Senator or Congressman who uttters critical coments about a bill coming fup or a vote with get his or her own "backroom deal" to buy his/her vote...
Of course, it is you and I, the law abiding taxpayer left out of the discussion, who will be expected to pay for these back room deals and our interests will be ignored because we are too busy paying our bills to make 4-figure political contributions to those on Capital Hill, at 1600 PA Avenue and all over K Street who are collectively picking our pockets.
Us taxpayers - those of us who DO pay taxes (we are nearing minority status now) - no longer fit into the equation at all.

If George W. Bush had been the first President to need a teleprompter installed to be able to get through a press conference, would you have laughed and said this is more proof of how inept he is on his own and is really controlled by smarter men behind the scenes?
If George W. Bush had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to take Laura Bush to a play in NYC, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had reduced your retirement plan's holdings of GM stock by 90% and given the unions a majority stake in GM for free, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had made a joke at the expense of the Special Olympics, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had given British PM Gordon Brown a set of inexpensive and incorrectly formatted DVDs, when Gordon Brown had given him a thoughtful and historically significant gift, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had given the Queen of England an iPod containing videos of his speeches, would you have thought this embarrassingly narcissistic and tacky?
If George W. Bush had bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had visited Austria and made reference to the non-existent Austrian language," would you have brushed it off as a minor slip?
If George W. Bush had filled his cabinet and circle of advisers with people who cannot seem to pay their income taxes, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had been so Spanish illiterate as to refer to "Cinco de Cuatro" in front of the Mexican ambassador when it was the fourth of May (Cuatro de Mayo), and continued to flub it when he tried again, would you have winced in embarrassment?
If George W. Bush had mis-spelled the word "advice" would you have hammered him for it for years like Dan Quayle and "potatoe" as proof of what a dunce he is?
If George W. Bush had burned 9,000 gallons of jet fuel to go plant a single tree on Earth Day, would you have concluded he's a hypocrite?
If George W. Bush's administration had approved Air Force One to fly low over millions of people in downtown Manhattan; followed by a jet fighter, thereby causing widespread panic, would you have wondered whether W and his administration actually got what happened on 9-11?
If George W. Bush had failed to send relief aid to flood victims throughout the Midwest with more people killed or made homeless than in New Orleans, would you want it made into a major ongoing political issue with claims of racism and incompetence?
If George W. Bush had ordered the firing of the CEO of a major corporation, even though he had no constitutional authority to do so, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had proposed to double the national debt, which had taken more than two centuries to accumulate (in less than one year), would you have approved?
After doubling the national debt in his first year, if George W. Bush had then proposed to double it again within 10 years, would you have approved (for the mathematically challenged, that a 300% increase in four years – or three times greater)?
If George W. Bush had said that he had visited 57 states, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush's spiritual mentor had spewed hatred toward everything American for the past 20 years, would you have approved?
So, please tell me again, what is it about Bush that you thought made him so stupid and hated (because he did not do any of the above)?
p.s. you can easily figure out who made each and every one of the above blunders. And that guy is brilliant and impressive?

I am a Democrat and I have been very disappointed in the political game that the Obama administration has been playing and it seems more bent on political agendas than the American people.
But seriously . . . people keep saying that the Republicans are bitter because the American people turned their heads away from them during the last election and the American people voted for Obama for a new mandate on government. If that is so, then why are the Democrats expecting to lose several seats in Congress in the next election?
Oh that is right . . . because moderates and independents don’t like what they see in the Obama administration and Congress and I don’t either.

Obama is the President of ALL of the people. It is beneath the dignity of the office to publicly "call out" individuals or organizations for demonization. It is chilling to free speech to ask the news media to not report on a story that Fox might dig up - ACORN, Van Jones, etc.
The "real story" about the Obama White House is how they hid Obama from actual scrutiny, placed him on a pedestal, above the fray, and loaded the Whitehouse with far left fringe elements of society. They felt they had a manadate due to Obama's charisma. What they have is a puppet for the 60's fringe kook element to manipulate. Perhaps the President to actual work one of these weekends and understand what his job is. It is not to make daily proclamations. He is not a dictator.
My extended family and firends are middle of the road, hard working Americans. We see very clearly what this administration wants to do. We cannot understand how the American people could have been duped to begin with, but they have woken up. The sea change that will occur in 2010 will be profound.
If the Republicans want to control government - they should adopt a strict employment policy. No more than .5% of the population can work for the government (not including military). The less the better. Reagan was right, government is the problem.

For the Repubs; You aren't gaining anything. Most of us don't like you either. Lamar Alexander is right. Hope that helps in all your silly arguments. Since none of you actually listen to us, and we aren't as loony as you all are, we really do hope all of you will stop being such asshats and think about what both sides can do to bring some sort of sanity back to the political process.

What is abundantly clear is that there are two Americas. One, based on The Constitution, the rule of law and the import of the individual. These people are commonly working hard, raising their families, paying their taxes and wanting the government to stay out of their lives as much as possible. They are commonly known as Republicans, Independants or Moderate Democrats. The other Amerika is populated by people who only make a living by divisive policies, extoling the virtues of victimhood and plotting ways to get their hands inside the pockets and lives of the Other Americans. Here's the rub; Amerikans will continue to lie, cheat, obfuscate (that means "hide stuff for you socialist, progressive and collectivists in Amerika) until you provoke America into violent revolt. There IS a second ammendment. Amerikans who forget that fact do so at their peril!

Why in the world does the Democrat party trust the government to do ANYTHING right? Whatever the government does involves corruption, special interests and in general more burden for the taxpayer. That is ONE of the main reasons I am a conservative, because the Democrat party always wants expanded government and the Republicans have always supported smaller government, except in the case of GW who tried to appease the Democrats too much. What part of Big Government and Corruption don't you understand?

Try living in Bush's shoes for the next 3.5 years, fool, and you'll have an anuerysm right in front of the teleprompter. Now, wouldn't THAT be poetic justice?

It does not seem to me Obama would be able to do Chicago style politics. He is so incompetent that he cannot get anything done. He is all talk and accomplishes nothing. He seems to hate the citizens that question any of his agenda. I really think if the Democrat base continues to support him. he will effectively destoy the country.
With our economy suffering, any ordinary Obama failure gets magnified and causes that much more destructive effect (e.g. Stimulus).

More accurately than "Chicago Style politics", the New York Times earlier this year described Chicago politician (and Obama Chief of Staff) Rahm Emanuel's political practices as "knee capping" and "foul mouthed" political style.
People make (not very funny) jokes about how corrupt elections are in Chicago ---going back to Kennedy's days...and there are almost as many elected officials in office as there are in jail in Chicago/Illinois...there would be more in jail (than in office) if they had more honest investigators and prosecutors.

The "R" word...Revolution. I saw it 6 times here & I tend to agree.
If you want a good book to read this winter, then read, A Time To Stand by Olilver. It's a modern day version on how a small town in America stands up to federal tyranny & ends up starting the 2nd American Revolution. It's insightful cause its based in part, on real people/events. Got 2 for some friends, that's how contemporary it is for today. Read it & see what's nxt for all of us.

The GOP had complete control of they government from Jan 2001 to Jan 2007 and the American people threw them out because they were incompetent and ran up a huge debt with pork and a war based on lies. That is how the democrats became in charge. If you don't like what they are doing look in the mirror and blame yourselves. Face it you blew it. And to all those Obama haters. Do you think they will ever grow up and realize that he is our nation's President, not just the Democrats !!? I hope they wake up soon, before their hate helps sink our nation into further chaos, but I guess, according to their convoluted logic, it beats President Obama's succeeding !! Iwas thinking of that this morning, when I read that -- who would thunk it!!?? -- that millions fewer swine flu vaccines are available that our illustrious, oh-so-competent, not-Bush administration thought would be available.

Most of you miss the point here, especially those on the left. Obama won the election, promising to rise above the party rancour and usher in a new bi-partisanship.
It's one thing to go after an opponent during a campaign; it is another to be in perpetual campaign mode. The president fails to realise is that he the country's president, including those who oppose him. As president, he has a duty to rise above the fray instead of indulging in thuggish hit-list political antics against the opposition. Call it what you want, Chicago style etc, what Obama's behaviour is not, is presidential.

I find it quite illuminating that the proponents of this Statist administration always resort to personal attacks on their opponents, much as their masters in the White House and Democratic leadership demonstrate. They infer, anyone who disagrees with them must be "stupid, illiterate, or some other derogatory about their intellect" simply for disagreeing with their UNAMERICAN agenda. The venom is all on the "left side". At least Fox News and others who challenge the status quo do so against both parties. You "highly intellectual" . . . NOT . . Statists, can't do anything but viciously attack those of differing opinion by regurgitating the venom of your masters and look the other way or cheer when your tyrants take another piece of our freedom away.
Well I've got news for you slaves to the state, those of us who love "Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Property" will never go quietly into the night and we will not be cowed by your jibes and insults. What other president set up an email address, asking people to send names and numbers of those distributing "misleading" information about the Democrat's health plan?
What other president in a highly publicized speech accused a hardworking cop of racial profiling all the while admitting he didn't know the facts?
What other president called people attending town hall meetings as liars, and was silent when other high-ranking Democrats called these ordinary citizens mobsters, terrorists, Nazi sympathizers, un-American racists?

"The White House and congressional Democrats know that their liberal special-interest agenda is not very popular,'' Boehner (R-Ohio) said at his weekly press briefing on Thursday.
Interesting, giving that approximately 60% of the country is in favor of the so-called "public option" for health care. Sounds popular to me.
And who is the "special interest?" Citizens of the USA? And the health insurance industry the Republicans are trying to protect, they're not a special interest, are they?

This enemies' list is interesting since Obama promised transparency, a new way, civility and lied all about it. The WSJ today has an article on the Chicago way. Real heavy, zombie dope. Any evidence, whatsoever, to support such gross hyperbole? Any particular motivation you would ascribe to Obama's desire to "bring this great Nation to its knees?"
A revolution? That would require fighting, Tom C. My guess is you're another Chickenhawk Coward who supported Murder Boy's wars but lacked the courage to actually serve. Could be wrong; almost certainly right. Answer if you have integrity to do so.

As for you zombies who think Obama will lose in 2012? Guess what, that won't happen unless he has an opponent of any substance. You haters have no such person. Obama would of course pray that Sarah Palin would run against him, as that would eliminate the need to campaign at all, but even you zombies are smart enough to prevent that from happening.

Hahaha, you Obabots are something else. Where is the transparency for ObamaCare ? Why do Pelosi, Reid and Baucaus do this behind closed doors ? The dayyam thing is up to 5 Bills now and 7,300 pages with multiple pork barrels attached to it. Let me ask you dipsticks a question. Right now, you claim the Insurance Industry is evil, but Healthcare is affordable and voluntary, you do not have to purchase it and if you are between the ages 18 - 45 more than likely you won't need Health Insurance. In ObamaCare everybody will be mandated to purchase Health Insurance whether you need it or not, that is how they will fill the Gov't coffers. So, in other words, if you are a healthy Tax Paying Citizen then you will have to pay up or be fined. Now, if you are on the Welfare Tit and are a Democrat Minority Constituent then you will get a subsidy.
Yea, now you get it. We the Tax Payers will be paying for free Health Insurance to Obama's Constituents that are getting HealthCare thru Medicaid and Medicare anyway, not to mention; providing Health Insurance to 46 Million Democrat Minority Constituents is not passion, that's Highway Robbery.
And this ain't the end of it either. Cap and Trade are coming next, then it will be Amnesty, then Global Warming Lesgislation, then these clowns will gut the Defense Budget (Carter and Clinton both did it and it cost us dearly, think Somalia and 911) So, just let the left and the alphabet channels keep on lying that's what they do to distract you, but come 2010 we will send the Messiah, Pelosi, Reid, Dodd and Bacaus and the Liberals who want to destroy this country a message; Don't Tread On Me.

What's wrong with the White House criticizing Fox News? Isn't this America, where anyone can say anything? They aren't trying to shut them up - they're just pointing out their bias. MSNBC has a bias the other way and they have taken many shots because of it (President G.H.W. Bush recently called Olberman and Maddow "sick puppies").
I'm from Chicago, and if "Chicago-style" means sticking up for yourself and responding directly to attacks (like "Obama hates white people"), then I'm proud that Obama is a Chicago-style politician.
Posted by: Mike | October 23, 2009 11:36 AM
Perhaps if Obama had apologized to the nation for Chicago style politics right after getting elected instead of apologizing to the world for the United States’s behavior he might be viewed in a better light.
Of course we all know a leopard can not change his spots, and you can take the man out of Chicago but you can’t take Chicago out of the man. Now we are beginning to see what this man is really all about.
The economy is in a shambles and the president has and is making it worse. He is behaving arrogantly and he is ruling against the will of the people. He is making an enemies list so he can bring a Change to the county that he never defined but he will certainly shove it down our collective throats.
I have never disliked a president as much as I dislike Obama. Contempt for his ideas and policies is all that remains in me ten months into his term. The poles suggest that I am in good company and my Hope is that more people will open their eyes to the problem we all have al long as Obama is in the White House.
If enough people are sickened by this man’s politics he may be able to live in the White House for the rest of his term but he won’t be able to rule from there or damage the country further.

Hey conservative Republicans:
Regardless of how big and important watching Fox News makes you feel, you are a shrinking minority. You got blown out in the last election, not just because of Bush, but because the majority of Americans don't agree with your opinions. They still don't.
Latest polls show that 57% give Obama a positive job approval rating, over 60% favor a public option for healthcare. Less than 20% identify themselves as Republicans. You are loud and your leaders have a lot of money, but you don't speak for the rest of us. This country has changed for the better since Obama took office and it will continue to get better, in spite of your efforts to derail things.

In anticipation of that bonus money, the trollish scriveners of the right have been re-employed, above, at least as "independent contractors", not necessarily full time on the payroll yet as during the election.
Their ignorance of Chicago is on full display.
Anyway, they could at least read OBAMA BIOGRAPHY FOR DUMMIES before embarrassing themselves.
Obama was never a part of Machine politics in Chicago and in fact the Machine tried to suppress him, probably seeing him as a future reform candidate for Mayor or Governor.
Bill Clinton and the Organization supported Bobby Rush against him in the 2000 House of Representatives election in my District. Clinton even made radio commercials in favor of Bobby R.
In the famous Senate election, the Machine favored another candidate.
All along, the Machine viewed Obama as too clean, too academic, too "good government".
So, keep spreading the Chicago canard, and the birf certifite canard, and the communicist canard and the Rev. Wright canard etc. etc.
It hasn't helped block Obama's ascent to Olympus, and it sure as ---- won't bring him down.

Seriously, Valerie Jarrett is defending the White House? First of all, what a surprise that Obama's friend comes to his defense. Second, Jarrett PERSONIFIES CHICAGO-STYLE POLITICS!!!!!!!!! Give me a break.
The left-wing media's extended honeymoon for Obama has now led to a culture of "this is what we want, so anyone who disagrees is doomed." True, the Bush White House was not much better - but then again, Obama and the rest of the left had a beef with that style. Until they embrace it as their own, that is.
Posted by: Jimmy | October 23, 2009 11:47 AM
So "Faux News" is so bad, but where do you get your "news" from? Keith Oberrman and Michelle Maddow (sp) over at May Sometimes Be News Coverage? If a Republican points out how biased Obermman is (how many times has he criticized Rangel for breaking tax law (the writing of which his Committee is responsible for) or violating House Rules, or for giving campaign money to those responsible for investigating him? But if a Republican says this, they are pummelled by the media for "censorship" but when Obama does it you celebrate.

Does anyone remember when he was on the campaign trail and if a reporter didn’t ask a softball question or was critical of him he would clam up and pout like a little b--ch in the corner. Secondly, this guy’s political career was spawned from all the crooked Chicago politicians. Why would he act any differently?
“Obama is becoming Jimmy Carter faster than Jimmy Carter did.”
Posted by: JSD | October 23, 2009 11:57 AM
If Obama wants his policies to win so badly that he feels it is right to go against everything that he has promised just to get it done, then he deserves to be fired or at the very least, not receive a 2nd term. The Presidency should be about diplomacy and being President to all americans not just those who agree with you. When people protested Bush and he was asked about it, he said something like "Isn't America great?" We have the right to disagree, free from bullying. Obama has surrounded himself with advisors that are only interested in doing what it takes to win, no matter what lies they tell and no matter who they threaten. If the recent threats by advisors on news networks hasn't proven that, then those who can't see will never see the truth.

The real story is the attempt to regulate the internet thus silencing all disenting points of view.
A real liberal would and should be as outraged and nervous about even the suggestion of censorship. We must join together for this fight or it will be our last.
Posted by: jim | October 23, 2009 11:26 AM
Correct. That's why it is so important tpo pass net neutraility regulations. Do you want you ISP to be able to block your access to Redstate, Free Republic or Michelle Malkins blog? No? Then you need to support Net neutrality. Net neutrality protects you from censorship, not the other way around.

And don't your garbage about "Support our troops - bring them home" shows that you don't know diddly about our troops and their dedication to their mission. As an Independent, I love to watch the game in these comment sections.
The Republicans stubbornly but impotently debate issues, while the Democrats sling manure (the Chicago form of rational argument.)
Change your style, guys. You gotta listen before you begin to type. Otherwise you're just passing wind.

I have one question for all you out there that think this current administration is doing such a fine job.
Name for me (1) goverment program that actually works as it was sold??
Want to see goverment health care why not look at Medicare / Medicaid / The VA.
Want to see where liberal programs run amuck will lead us, take a look at California.
Never mind facts when you can baffle them with BS.
Do we need healthcare reform YES. Do we need goverment control NO.
Remember when you trade freedom for security you lose BOTH.

I would have to agree with Jenny's comment. If you think about it, all of these politicians are buddy buddy behind the scenes. They put on this aggressive, polar facade in order to get US, the PEOPLE to fight each other, much like what is happening in the comments on this website. As someone who voted for Obama, I am seriously disappointed in how he is currently running the country. However, all the Republicans are doing is pointing out all flaws, refusing to help the country recover, all with the hopes of taking back some seats of power next year during the elections. Seriously!? Fire them all! Dems, and Repubs, and put in a bunch of centrist, independents. At least we will weigh both sides and then make decisions. Enough bickering. Fix America before it's too late!

"What's wrong with the White House criticizing Fox News? Isn't this America, where anyone can say anything?"
Technically, yes. But - the leader of the country, naming an entire network (which happenes to be the only network that aired the Van Jones story) sounds like an abuse of power to me. He cheapens the office by stooping to this level. And yes, if W called people out then I would say that was wrong too.

Obama is the epitomy of Chicago Style politics, which is to say, it doesn't matter the cost, "I want it". Do it and worry about the outcome later. Try some "Indiana Style" politics where we only do things when we can afford them, there is a lot of great programs out there however, if you can't afford them, maybe, just maybe we shouldn't do them.

@Jess Griffith:
Gov't programs that work? Highways; Courts; Food Stamps; Scientific Research; National Parks; etc.
Don't like VA hospitals, Medicare or Medicaid? Fine, but your money where you mouth is, and push to eliminate those programs. For all their limitless, mindless blather, idiots like Boner and McConnell would not dare consider even mentioning such a thing. Republicans ran the country for 8 years and never suggested any such thing.
Government -- being all of us -- is entirely capable of good things, as evidenced by the fact that even the party of no has never lifted a finger to try to change it.

Doesn't matter what party you belong to or if you are a liberal or conservative in the face of the following facts:
1 - The national debt now stands at close to $400,000 per PERSON.
2 - Pelosi is bragging about how the house healthcare bill will cost ONLY about $900,000,000 (multiply that figure by the 1.5 reality factor for the true figure)
3 - Moody’s predicts the bond rating of the U.S. will fall in the next 3 - 5 years if the debt continues to climb at its present rate
4 - Everyone seems to want 'Free' money from the government but most don't realize that the 'Free' money from uncle Obama isn't really free. Where does the FREE money come from, well, it comes from the taxes paid by the middle and upper classes and business. Here is what may be a revelation to some, NOTHING IS FREE.
After reviewing the above, if you aren't scared out of your wits then something is wrong with you.
Ask yourself the following:
- How can we possibly hope to pay off such a huge debt?
- What is going to happen when our bond rating goes into the toilet and China tries to cash in on all that U.S. debt they are holding on to? (HINT: start learning mandarin now)
I don't care what party you belong to and it really doesn't matter now how we got here, how the heck do we get out of here? As the debt grows uncontrollably taxes on individuals and business will go up to service it. Business will cut payrolls to pay increased taxes which will translate into an even higher unemployment you can take it from there.
Unless we return to the Constitution, remember that, stop all these entitlement programs that make people dependent on the government, preventing them from being self reliant we are going to be stuck in this downward spiral.
Capitalism did not caused our problems greed caused this mess. Greed is found in underhanded business dealings, political back scratching and people lining up for miles because of rumors of government handouts. What happened to people wanting to work for what they get, distaining charity????
This country has seriously lost its way and I am afraid for our future.

To all the conservatives out there, it seems that no matter how much information or how many facts you put in front of a liberal, they will always ignore it. To all the liberals out there, socialized health care is socialism. The government calling out a part of the news media is third world crap best left to dictators like Chavez. Telling private companies how much they can pay their executives is socialist. Governmental take over of the banking industry is Communist. Put it all together and what do you get???? The Obama administration’s gradual dismemberment of the constitution until he gets what he wants and rewrites it to redistribute wealth, make the public dependant on the government to survive and take away our right to stand up to a corrupt government. If you do not like the way this country was created to run, leave. Otherwise take a few minutes and read the damn document that formed this country. By the time this administration spends us to death, taxes us to death and mandates what, where, who and how we get health care, I “HOPE” that we still have “CHANGE” left in our pockets.

Obama's health care will mean less health care for the people who pay the bills in this country.
All of the people doing the work and paying the taxes to provide the healthcare will have less to provide their families with.
The winners will be the government bureaucrats who will pay themselves handsomely and expand their roll at the expense of the people in this country who pay taxes and provide/receive health care (it's what they do - as Obama would put it).
Just think of the ambulances passing by closed hospitals in Los Angeles who depended on government reimbursement to drop them off at surviving hospitals that depend on private paying citizens.
Obama is terribly over advertised he's never got his hands dirty or suffered through anything - he's a wafe and that's why he does not pay much attention to reality.
Just look at his deficit spending plans - how can any self respecting American applaud this man ?

The reality is that big government never shrinks, it only gets bigger. Big government programs never reduce costs, they only end up costing us double or tripple what was projected by those who government who want our support. And big government doesn't serve the people, no matter how noble the cause may sound. Big government only serves to feed big government - power and coffers. Wake up! Look at how far we have come from the principles that this country was founded on. Read the words of our founding fathers. They saw the danger in government bing too large and too powerful and becoming a burden to the people. They wrote the constitution to protect us from that fate. But nobody pays attention to that silly constitution anymore. Most the fat cats in washington seem to only care about their own power and not what has made this country great for 225+ years.

It's hilarious that the Libtards keep refering to O'Reilly, Beck and Hannity when criticizing Fox as a News organization. None of them are news anchors. Shepard Smith is the prime-time Anchor, and then there is Chris Wallace. The other guys have Op-Ed shows, which by definition are intentionally opinionated.
MSNBC has Olbermann and Fred Savage, oops, I mean Rachel Maddow, and Ed Schultz. Are any of these people "journalists"? Hell no and they make no pretense of objectivity as they deliver their willfull liberal slant. The three partisan Op-Ed shows on MSNBC are just as much of a propaganda arm for the Obama White House as the Fox triumverate is for the Conservatives.
I don't hear any Libtards bashing MSNBC for its blatant efforts to carry water for Obama.

"The White House and congressional Democrats know that their liberal special-interest agenda is not very popular... And now they are following a familiar pattern: when you can't win an argument based on the facts, launch vicious political attacks."
- John Boehner (R-Ohio) said at his weekly press briefing on Thursday.
That's hilarious.
First a former "enemies list" participant (Republican Lamar Alexander) complains about Obama keeping an enemies list; then Boehner complains that White House is "launching vicious political attacks" because their (unspecified) "liberal special-interest agenda" is "not very popular."
That is funny political theater.

"Dude, sorry, can't let that one go by. The North Vietnamese ended the war - when they won."
We were winning and would have won but the politics in our country would not allow it.
As a result we turned tail and ran leaving the people of South Vietnam at the mercy, or lack thereof, of North Vietnam.
To make matter worse the left played the traitor while our soldiers were deployed and then demonized them when they returned from the conflict. To make matter worse the left played the traitor while our soldiers were deployed and then demonized them when they returned from the conflict.
You can count on the left to show their lack of tolerance for those who do not take the same stand they deem not just appropriate but compulsory.
Citizens that obeyed the law and served their country were less than human in the eyes of the left. Wonderful people the left, they talk of inclusion and celebration for diversity but they will bury you every time if you do not think and act like them.

Mr. Obama and his White House can't seem to get their brains around the fact that the election of '08 is over, and he won. A candidate feeds on red meat, but a president is the president of everyone, and must set a different table. Mr. Obama campaigned with promises of a post-racial, post-partisan, post-rancor administration, and millions of Americans responded with enthusiasm. The candidate who said he took inspiration from Abraham Lincoln of Illinois now acts as if he takes inspiration from the distinguished statesmen of the Third World, where press opposition to the leader is usually a bloody no-no.

After reading a majority of the posts here, I've come to the conclusion that there really is a great divide between people in this country. One could call it "irreconcilable differences". No wonder we have such low regard for marriage and such a high divorce rate. And you know, just as in our personal lives, if we try to force and manipulate our perspective and wants onto the other person who is vehemently opposed to it, it will always end badly. Just think of all the domestic violence assaults following a long and messy divorce. I've seen the remarks about a revolution, which is not good. No one likes war. No one wants to die. But this infighting amongst the American people has become so intolerant, heated, and manipulative, that if either side trys to solve it's wants by force through legal, legislative, or executive means, what has already begun in the mind will come to fruitation in the physical. Our government is being ripped apart by two feuding spouses who can't for the life of themselves behave civilly or speak rationally to each other. God help us, the only logical conclusion/ consequence to this is another civil war. Any good marriage counselor will start by saying it is not about who did what to whom from this day forward, but rather about learning to speak to each other in a respectful manner and not demanding change but asking for it, and learning to live with what you get. Life is not fair, but it should always be just. Try as hard as you might you can’t wish the other side away. They will always be there. We have got to learn to respect each other. And we have got to agree on some basic rules of engagement or we will never work past our differences.

Tell people who do not have issurance to get rid of their cell phones and spend the 150 per month for insurance. It's all about priorities and it seems like we are taking care of babies. Health issurance is not a right.
The point is, you can not trust anyone in politics they are all crooks and liars.

Disgusted Democrat - AMEN! I can't agree with you more. What the hell is the matter with all of you fire-breathing haters. Everybody on both sides need to settle down and have a rational conversation. As for the fire-breathing leftists/democrats here, I have a general rule of thumb for you: If Bush did the same "X" thing as Obama, would you have been outraged? If the answer is yes - then you should be just as offended with Obama (if not more since you vote for him).
What many people find disturbing about this issue is that the O administration is pursuing a compaign to remove journalism that opposes or criticises their administration. This not only is fundamentally in opposition to the idea of the freedom of press, but also smacks of unnecessary partisian politics. The freedom of press is the freedom to report information and ideas that are contrary to any official press, otherwise they would not need that freedom protected. O and the gang, while not engaged in illegal anti-press activity, is effectively usurping the right of the American citizen to hear contrary viewpoints. And come on really Leftist Dems, there is only ONE conservative national news station - FOX, One (its not even available to me in HD, unlike Commie News Network).

So HML John Boehner is whining about the “vicious political attacks” by the WH because the President referred to Fox News as “talk radio”. And the best analogy that Boehner could come up with was another disparaging attack on the Windy City by calling the ‘vicious attacks’ “Chicago-style politics”? When will the GOP learn to stop marginalizing parts of the country for cute sound bites? This is the UNITED STATES of AMERICA which includes the beautiful city of Chicago, Illinois. Can the GOP please pick another target for their vitriol hatred and stop demonizing Chicago. They have already endured the Right-wing’s degrading and divisive theatrics regarding the 2016 Olympic games. Grow-up GOP! Find the gumption to use some other tactic for forwarding your (non) agenda other than name-calling.

1. Why do liberals use name calling to make them selves sound smarter than they really are? Hmmm…
2. Why can’t a liberal admit when one their own is doing something wrong.
a. Fact – There is no “Transparency” in this administration.
b. Fact – Trying to prevent FOX from covering the news and Human from contacting their customers IS a violation on First amendments rights. (Play it this way, would it wash if Bush did that?)
c. Fact – The White House has tried to intimidate Fox News, Humana, U.S. Chamber of Commerce and anyone with a different opinion.
d. Fact – FOX was right about Van Jones
e. Fact – FOX was right about Acorn
f. Fact – God help us if they are right about the rest. THINK what would be worse, to ignore is with slurs or actually investigate the charges?
g. Fact – ABC, NBC, CNN and the rest have their own slant just like FOX, only liberal.
3. THINK what would be worse, to ignore the argument with slurs and name calling or actually have an open, honest debate? WHAT WOULD IT HURT?

Whether or not Obama is fascist, or communist, or socialist, or whatever is hard to tell for the smoke and mirrors. But if you take a look at who HE surrounded himself with it’s hard to deny. At least 8 to 10 people that are advising him at the White House are social extremists, probably more. Browse to any Socialist web site and you WILL see that he has almost the exact political stand. Go ahead, I dare you…

IS Obama a socialist? If it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, poops like a duck…

Socialism, according to Karl Marx, is the transition between capitalism and communism. To achieve communism, Marx says, there must be continuing revolution in which the fundamental principal is: The end justifies the means.

SOME Liberals may have good intentions but for the most part they are hamstrung by the fact that they just do not know what they do not know.
This president has had 10+ months to prove himself worthy of the Office. Besides partying on Wednesdays, flying hither and yon, and conducting the largest 3 card Monte game of all time, he has accomplished squat.
He has time and again allowed his ego and narcissism come to the fore thus blocking any chance for critical thinking and common sense.
If I could advise him I would tell him to get rid of Emanuel and the rest of his radical thinking advisors (although he appears to be a radical himself) and appoint those advisors who would think of America first and the feelings of the President last.

Gotta love it when libs put their feel-good spin on things. The good news is, they're scared to death b/c surprise surprise they thought they got a mandate, but they misread it. It wasn't a mandate it was a chance to show they could do things a little better, be a little more open, be honest and welcoming to "the other side". They are squandering it and will be out of control in 2010. The economy is a shambles, if Obama was smart he would strengthen it, but he didn't. He made it a hell of a lot worse. Bush = Obama. There is no difference only one was a little more quick on the draw with our troops. Obama can't even decide to stay or go, more troops or no more troops. Dude is about as smart as Bush was.
Posted by: Libs lose control in 2010 | October 23, 2009 4:34 PM
Let's face it. When you start to attack the media (like Pres. Nixon) you have lost the argument. Like it or not, the party out of power sweeps in and shuts down the presidential agenda. (See Clinton administration)
I say thank God. Obama will fail to deliver his leftist redistribution of wealth and capitalism will survive and prosper in the U.S.

It seems to me that our President is hell bent on turning the country into a pile of rubble. Perhaps that is his agenda. I am certain that our fore fathers never intended to have a man in the Whitehouse that is almost certainly against the Constitution. I have always loved this country and would still to this day give my life for her. However it seems to me that the President has no intentions of defending our great nation. I think that it is despicable that he uses our hard earned tax payer dollars to go out and campaign for his fellow democrats instead of do the job that a President should be doing. And oh by the way, why is it that he has had the DOJ in every court in the country trying to keep from revealing his true identity. If he was truly an honest man with nothing to hide then why does he continue to spend money to keep from releasing his historical records. Why not just produce eveything and be transparent as he promised he would be when he ran for the office. I was a loyal supporter until I realized that he was nothing more than a politician that would say and do anything to get into the White House. And his comments about hope and change turned out to be little more than strip me of my dollars and give me "CHANGE", leading me to "HOPE" that I can still survive when he is done destroying our country. Honestly, he is not even close to being Presidential material and I am starting to think that we need to seriously look at the impeachment process before it is to late!

How can ANY REAL AMERICAN like what this president is doing and how can ANYONE with an ounce of common sense defend it? The comparisons are ludicrous. If you base your comparisons on what someone else did wrongly how significant can they really be? If your argument is reduced to name calling, you've lost. Explain to me what the man is doing right and back it up with facts. Bankrupting the USA cannot be something anyone wants but thats where we are heading.

Here is a clue for you clueless repugs.
President(OUR President) Obama is right. He inherited a mess almost as bad as a depression. It is ALL because of Bush. Just like our Governor (RE-ELECTED, by the way, in a bad economy) inherited a Michigan economy she was in no way responsible for and is still struggling with. Eventually, her policies (and the President's) will work. We re-elected Granholm because we beleieved in her. We will live with the unemployment and the tax increases because sometimes it is better to be right in the long run than to be better off in the long run. It took four FDR elections for the economy to recover from Hoover's repugs. I, for one, am willing to re-elect President Obama THREE MORE TIMES if that's what it takes. Better a man who knows the full extent of the problems like President Obama or YES EVEN PRESIDENT CARTER than some amiable DUNCE REPUBLICAN like Reagan or Sarah Palin.

And while Obama is spending his precious time hurling rocks at Fox News, our troops in Afghanistan are dying, our deficit is out of control and his poll numbers are tanking.
Blame Bush all you want but Obama is President now and he needs to fix this country, not fight a war with a news agency.

It looks like the Prez is a little thin skinned. The liberal media has to split its viewers among many outlets. The conservative media only has a few, thus better ratings. Whether or not Obama is fascist, or communist, or socialist, or whatever …
I’ve had this conversation with my wife regarding the guiding principles and ideology of Obama. We both came to the conclusion his is a hybrid as far as we can tell.
That he surrounded himself with socialists as a younger man is certain but he also drank from the well of black liberation theology and its political derivative defined by the Equity and Social Justice movement in government. Both of these latter two philosophies have been circulating under the radar until recently because they are unique to the Black community and that is where they have been fashioned over the at least the last 40 years.
These ideals are born of resentment and bitterness towards a country, its traditions and culture that bought their forefathers to be sold them as slaves. The subsequent generations that have had to overcome this stigma have been abused by years of racism and bigotry and thereby have sown a hatred so deep into the hearts of American blacks there is no means by which they can be relieved of the affliction. Our generation is about to reap a wrath that has simmered and brewed for over the decades. Change has been promised and its roots run deep into the soil of get even-ism.
Will it seem like communism when your wealth is transferred to those who do not have the ability or talent to earn what you have? Yes it will. Will it seem like fascism when you are burdened with expensive regulations foisted upon you by government departments who employ and pay the very people that had no ability or talent to earn what you earn? Yes it will.
Everything the largely white Left has hated about this country, big business corporations, the constraints of capitalism, and the obligations of a free market economy will be diluted and subdued to the advantage of the new emerging ruling class. These people will reap the goal that so many white liberals only dreamed of or tasted briefly, that is, the domination of the economy and the rule making and enforcing bodies of the nation. The government will become that which is for and by the descendants of those who were oppressed and deprived since the day the first slave set foot on the shores of this nation.
That is the change that is planned for our future. The paradigm shift will see the day when the minority becomes majority and the servant the master. Whether or not the wisdom and knowledge will transfer remains to be seen.
If wisdom and knowledge was a characteristic of those who working this agenda they would not have to resort to this type of power play. However having repudiated all that in their minds is responsible for their suffering and oppression nothing remains of the system that they can embrace.
Now is the time they must retool the implements of power and restructure the tactics to assure that they will forever have control over others. This is the goal of the game and that is how they see it – as a game.
The primary principle is: Never succeed so others may also, but, rather succeed at to the disadvantage of others and let your foot be always at the throat of those you have overcome.
You can call it socialism or fascism or a variant of feudalism. What ever it is it will work for a time but only for those ensconced the seat of power within this country. Regardless the name we give it, history can sort out the details; it will be painful and hopeless for all except those who helped to usher in the new order of things in America.

Obama needs to take a lesson from Truman: "The buck stops here."
To date, he and his administration are merely "blame artists"--blame Bush, blame Cheney, blame Fox, blame those who "cling to guns and religion."
Obama wanted the job of president. It's time he began owning the job and doing the work of the job.

A few comments for the liberals:
1) You folks keep saying that nobody takes Republicans sersiously anymore; PLEASE do us a favor and keep thinking that.
2) The attempt by the WH to shut out Fox news was scary-dangerous. If you can't see the obvious danger in ANY administration trying to shut out (and in effect silence) a news organizition you need help. Go ahead and say Fox isnt a "real" news organization. Okay, fine... call them whatever you want but their audience is world wide, enormous and growing. Feel free to call them anything you like, it isn't hurting their ratings - the ratings alone validate thier relevancy.
3) (On Healthcare) Do you REALLY trust the government so much? You trust them so much that you would let them know everything about you. You would let them make desicisions for you and your family's health? REALLY? Seriously think about it. Is it because your "team" is in charge that you trust the governement so much? It is a certainty that some day Republicans will be back in control; will you still trust the government with your medical decisions then? ... because it WILL happen.
Any free thinking, intellectually honest person knows better than to trust the government to the degree that you folks insist we should. I thought Democrats were the ones that had a distrust for government. I guess not anymore ?!?!?!
I don't care which party is in control - I don't trust any politician to make the right medical choices for my family and I. If you could get over your blind loyalty to a political party you might see how foolish your position is.

Kevin, re: I believe we are on the edge of real "change" but it's not what was spoken of in the campaign.
If you can define what Obama was referring to when he spoke of “Change” you are doing better than the rest of us.
"Hope and Change", that phrase was by definition nothing more than sloganeering and frankly it was not very good sloganeering, It was trite and cliché' at best.
Time and chance played a far greater role in Obama's election. Obama was the first black man, had a pretty face, articulate it seemed, and after eight years of Bush and a bank scandal, well… that placed Obama where he is.
Oh, I forgot to mention that he also ran against a woman that was doomed because of her relationship to her husband and the hypocrisy she practiced in the aftermath of his scandal. Add to that her lack of ability and willingness to test the memory of the people and the press by rewriting the events of her life and it’s a wonder she got the job of Secretary of State.
But, back to the subject.
Now it's all in Obama’s hands and so far he has mishandled it at best. Yet, he resorts to whining about what he inherited and the mean spirited fact checking Fox news for all his problems.
Well, it's starting to look like time and chance might be his undoing since it really is becoming clearer ever day that he has no experience and is in way over his head. The longer he is in office the more time bears this out this fact.
I'd be laughing if it were not so serious a situation.
The man has all our lives in his inept hands and we have never been so great that we can not fall.
There's a scary concept to think about as we draw near the end of October.

NY Times didn't refer to
"Chicago Political style" when they described Rahm Emanuel, Chicago politician and Obama Chief of Staff, and his political style as "knee capping" and "foul mouthed". Obama has never done enough to judge whether or not his "style" is like Rahm's, although he did hang out with convicted Chicago real estate crook Resko and about to be convicted IL Gov Blagovich.

Ornery, that was a nice bit of argumentation but it really doesn’t accomplish what you had hoped.
Bill Clinton may have played the role of the first Black white man but it was all show. He and Hillary were not about to share the wealth of power and the prestige of politics with an unproven black man and neither was the machine in Chicago.
For democrats the black politician is the guy who gets you black votes not the guy you want building his own political machine. That’s why the Clinton’s and the power brokers in Chicago were working for the other side against Obama.
Why the one older Machine is against a new start up machine is simply how politics is played regardless of the parties playing. What is different is that Chicago style politics is unique and, well, more than just slimy but isn’t that why they call it Chicago Style after all?
It’s Kind of like the pizza from the same location I suppose, except that stuff won’t land you in prison even if you eat it everyday of your life until your heart stops pumping.
No, Obama learned how to play the Chicago game from those that learned it from those that learned it till you get back to those that invented and perfected it long ago, still, Obama was always an outsider.
On the cable channel eleven months ago they ran the tape of Rahm Emanuel’s roasting at a dinner celebrating his birthday. There was one lone Republican in the audience and he almost had his head served on a platter by a few of the speakers, but I digress.
Among the folks in the audience was Barrack Obama. The camera panned to him sitting at a lonely table when the speaker, I think it was Hillary, mentioned his name.
This event took place sometime after Obama had become a senator in the Congress of the United States and I recall that Chris Dodd was sitting at a table behind Obama’s.
Obama appeared to be aloof and disinterested like someone who knew he was in a room with people who were not exactly his friends. Could be just the way I perceived it, but he wasn’t smiling and also seemed a bit smug.
Now it’s just a guess but it seemed he was well aware that he was not appreciated by those in the room that made it to Congress the honest way, Hillary Clinton not withstanding. By honest I mean honest in terms of paying one’s dues; working the system for others and putting in the time.
Somehow Obama had managed to leap frog the obligatory stations from being a community organizer all the way to the Senate of the USA in too short a time. Sure he was a state legislator in Illinois but that was a leap too wasn’t it?
Who knew a guy like Obama could pull this off? Even Jessie Jackson was over come with anger about this upstart that beat him at his own game and he manifested his seething hatred and jealousy of Obama on that fateful day with Julian Bond at his side and a hot mike in front of him. Wow that Jessie has a dark side most of us never appreciated until then.
So, now I wonder if Obama had any idea that he would have Rahm as his right hand man. I wonder that becasue it is funny how everyone speaking that night trashed Rahm for his lack of ethics, his explosive temper and foul mouth, his ability to run through an opponent from behind the curtain etc. All was in good fun and everyone laughed at the comedy because the grains of truth were in sufficient number in each one liner to make the stomachs ache as the room whooped it up. And it was pretty funny stuff!
Funny too was the look on Rahm’s face each time they hit him with a zinger. You could almost read his mind as he told himself he would get them for that one!
Funnier still, is that Emanuel in Hebrew means “god with us”. I mean let’s face it - Rahm has more in common with the other guy than he ever had with God…badda boom.
No, politics is a rough game regardless of which party you are playing for. In some ways it reminds me of the movies about organized crime, one family hitting another and all trying to keep their claim to a piece of the action in their territories and always paying tribute to the big guy at the top.
The late Lee Atwater played for the Republican team and was a tough and dirty operator by his own admission. Just before he died of brain cancer he apologized publicly to everyone he hurt and/or destroyed. I guess old Lee had taken a few pages from the Chicago hand book himself or perhaps his book had been written by someone that read the one Obama is now acquainted with.
One thing Obama and Rahm haven’t considered is this quote from Lee, “Never pick a fight with someone who buys their ink by the barrel”.
Well, perhaps I am assuming too much here, because maybe… just maybe Obama and team have figured out how to make the media an offer they can’t refuse, Chicago style.

Folks, it's always a problem when one political party gains total control of the government (legislative and executive branches). The first thing the party in control tries to do is lock in their control by finding ways to silence/invalidate the minority party. Then the party in total control always tries to go too far to one extreme, because they have no counterbalance of power. This happens regardless of which party gains total control. Please bring us back to a "balance of power" in the next election.

Totally inept and clearly out of his league. Who is the real Wizard of Oz behind the curtain?
Obama is spineless. He can never take a stand for fear he may make the wrong move. Makes proclamations as if he is still on the campaign trail, because that is all he knows….hot air and bullshit. He is nothing but a front man. But he can play basketball and dine with his wife with the added cost of secret service security added to cover him. Fly in entertainers to drink, socialize and have parties on the White House back lawn, while our sons and daughters give their lives for this county.

Chicago is a Union Town. Unions won't support Daley in the next election. His good-will has been used up. He's has little man disease - He's a ruler who has lost the love of his people. Obama isn't smart enough to see he is going down the same path.

All anyone has to do is take a hard look at Chicago and you will see not the city with big shoulders but a city of "CORRUPTION". If Daley really cared for the citizens of Chicago, he would call out the national guard and finally deal with the gang bangers, and the drug problems. Its something he and his father should have done long ago. Listen up Chicago voters its time to hold Daleys' feet to the fire.

ornery,
I picture Mark punching up 80 column 5081 IBM cards on the 026, then inputing all the comments into a 402 tabulating machine, after collating on the 085, of course, and perhaps a sort on the 083.

Creaky, It's sort of like playing chess by post card.
Anyway, I think Dave concedes that the Machine and the Clintons didn't want to cede any power to our bi-racial state senator from Hyde Park.
But then he suggests that Barack's ascent has been a fluke.
And also suggests that Barack has learned the art of blackjack politics indirectly, through mentors in the blackjack arts.
None of which even if true explains the Barack phenomenon.
I'm reminded of those elitists who have clubs devoted to "proving" that Shakespeare, given his rude origins, did not write Shakespeare's works.
(What rubbish! Might as well claim that the son of an illiterate farmer could not possibly, at age 24, discover the laws of gravitation, invent calculus, invent the scientific method through experiments revealing facts of light with prisms he bought at a county fair.)
What the right can't or won't acknowledge is that Obama is to other politicians as Newton is to Hooke or as Mozart is to Salieri.
Yes, there are, once every 500 years or so, people of very modest origins who because of their gifts "bestride the Universe like giants":
E.g.
Shakespeare
Newton
Mozart.
Dare I add in the political realm:
Obama.
Yes, some of his appointments have been made on the theory that "it takes a thief to thwart a thief".
(I won't say which ones--that wouldn't be gentlemanly.....)
But don't ever delude youself into thinking Barack is some hack Chicago politician.

Chicago style politics won't fly in America. Obama administration is a failure. Wake up America. We have been duped.
