As health-care legislation enters the "trust us'' stage - where it's not so much the hundreds of written pages of bills under debate as it is the vote-clenching concepts, such as the "public option,'' that frame a deal - the public apparently places the greatest faith in President Barack Obama and the least in the GOP.

Trust in Obama to change the nation's health-care system is running at 55 percent who say they have a great or fair amount of trust in the president on this, according to the findings of a Gallup Poll.

Trust in the Democrats running Congress - now embroiled in a deal-cutting bid to get legislation to the House and Senate floors - runs at 48 percent. Trust in Republicans in Congress, complaining that the entire process is moving too swiftly, runs at 37 percent.

"There is a notable difference in degree,'' Gallup notes. "A significantly higher proportion of Democrats than Republicans generally trust their own party's leaders on the issue. Eighty-six percent of Democrats trust Obama and 81 percent trust the Democrats in Congress; by contrast, 61 percent of Republicans trust the Republicans in Congress.''

Plus: "Fewer than four in 10 political independents have much faith in either political party in Congress on healthcare reform; however, the majority of independents do trust Obama.''

"While Republicans do not trust the president much more than they trust congressional Democrats on healthcare, political independents do see him in a more positive light,'' Gallup notes. " This helps lift Obama above the fray, earning him the trust of the slight majority of Americans.''

The findings come from a survey of 1,521 adults, conducted Oct. 16-19, with a possible margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

The GOP doesn't have a health care plan, all they have is fear-mongering and lies.

Weather Balloon Flies Across Country - GOP Claims Their Health Care Reform Plans Inside!"

FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- A homemade helium weather balloon got loose from the Republican National Committee headquarters today, leading authorities on a cross-country chase after Republicans insisted that their plans for health care reform were on board.

"All of our plans, like tort reform, just took off and flew away," said RNC Chairman Michael Steele. "I don't know how they got in there, but our plans are now up in the air. Including tort reform."

The balloon flew across three states before it finally came to the ground near Salt Lake City. Worried onlookers quickly opened up the saucer-shaped balloon but found nothing inside.

"We had hoped we'd find the GOP health-care plans in there," said firefighter Tim Johnson. "But instead, all we found was hot air."

Afterward, Steele stated that the GOP had found their health care plans hiding in the attic and were, in fact, safe.

"All our health care reform plans - like tort reform - are healthy and safe," said Steele on his blog "What up?". "We found them in the attic alongside our war plans for Iraq and Afghanistan and our flood evacuation plans."

Sheeple with small brains. Pick up the clue phone sheeple, Mr. Silva makes this stuff up to give you morons something to talk about amongst yourselves.

Dem Damned Lies, Deceptions, and Dolts

This mess of Democrats in control of our government has come near to perfecting the fine art of political obfuscation and nervy prevarication.

Whether it’s the president who now says that, “Gee, when I said that my Obamacare proposals never incorporated funding for aborting the pre-born, I didn’t really mean that Obamacare wouldn’t incorporate such funding,” or other deceptions, it’s transparent that this ilk has gone to the top of the Prevarication Charts.

Seriously, now, they are absolutely superb at twisting the truth, that is unless, ala Bill Clinton, everyone else is lying but they are telling the god’s-honest truth.

For example, “Rep. Bart Stupak (D.-Mich.) told CNSNews.com that President Barack Obama told him in a telephone conversation that when he said in his Sept. 9 speech to a joint session of Congress that ‘under our plan no federal dollars will be used to fund abortions’ he was not talking about the actual bill drafted in the House but about the president’s own health care plan—which has never been written.”

Huh?

“I don’t know if it is a game of semantics or what,” Stupak said of Obama’s nationally-televised declaration to Congress that the health-care plan will not allow federal funding of abortion:” http://bit.ly/11fnaq.

Rep. Stupak, it’s not semantics. It’s baldfaced lying, a political technique developed into an art form by Barack Obama and his acolytes and predicated on the assumption that the American people are dolts.

All Stupak wants is a floor vote on an amendment prohibiting abortion funding in Obamacare, a transparent, democratic procedure to determine specifically where House members stand. Speaker-wannabe Steny Hoyer has now tried to placate Stupak with more mealy-mouthed, vague promises of compromise: http://bit.ly/4dy7iw

Then along comes the Queen of Deceptive Prevarication, House Speaker Nancy Patricia D’Alesssandro Pelosi, who feigned ignorance–or was it feigned?– . . .

Funny- but even your imagined bill as you are describing represents a more bill receiving more publicity than the current real bill that is being secretly drafted by the dimwit Senator Reid

Didn't the Heritage Foundation have a poll that found pedophiles more trustworthy than Republicans?

That's what I always say, the two things that always go together Trust, and Big Government, Corrupt, Politicians. It always turns out well...
for them.

Obama doesn't have a plan. Pelosi and Reid have a plan - but don't have the votes.

Truth,

You are more trustworthy than Republicans? Who'd have thunk it.

The cool aide is flowing freely! Healthcare is going to be the
the end of the Democratic leadership,if you can call what their doing leadership. The dems are ruining our nation and the poor souls that are buying into it are going to regret the day they put Nobama into office along with his cabinet of losers and tax evaders. The poor people that are struggling to make ends meet are the ones that will suffer the most. Simple economics should tell everyone that you can not spend millions and trillions without raising taxes. But you have been warned.

Yeah right, Pauly!

The Repugs know that when the Dems pass health care reform their electoral goose will be cooked for at least a generation. That's why they're kowtowing with the Corporate Health Insurance Lobby and spreading lies about "death panels", "killing granny" and crap like that that no one in their right mind believes.

Told ya so.

Even if Obama loses on health care, he ultimately wins:

He'll always be seen as the knight in shining armor who took on theinsurance companies and other profiteers in this "industry".

And everyone who gets screwed by an insurance company on a medical claim or denied coverage will remember his efforts.

But it's beginning to look like a rabbit will be pulled out of hat.

Whoa Nelly! The right wingers will have to head for the hills.

It'll be like Roosevelt signing the Social Security Act.

I think if you studied the Heritage Floundation report carefully, it appears those polled could not tell the difference between pedophiles and Republicans, and so probably trusted them equally.

True, Mark Foley (R. Florida) was a pedophile.

Denny Hastert (R Illinois) was dysfunctional owing to his obesity and , er, complications of diabetes....

Sen. Vitter (R Louisiana) has a weird paraphilia concerning prostitutes and diapers, which does not exclude pedophilia. He may be headed that way, however, and just temporarily stuck in the infantile stages of deviancy....

Larry Craig (R Idaho) prefers muscular nordic men in their 30's, but has been known to dip down into the teens....

So, you see, the Heritage Floundation report has some serious flaws.....

Sure Obama is popular. He's a likeable guy. Will Obamacare be popular once folks realize it is breaking the bank, underperforming, not covering the supposed 46 million uninsured and raising taxes? It's easy to champion a slogan. See www.MDWhistleblower.blogspot.com

Barack Obama had been awarded this
year's Nobel Peace Prize barely nine
months into his presidency, amid
scepticism and speculation over whether
he deserved the prize.
http://www.itsoverobama.com

But with few concrete accomplishments
on either score to boast of – and as Obama
considers further escalation of the
Afghanistan war, with Arab-Israeli peace
efforts floundering – many interpreted the
decision as a purely political calculation.

I wonder what Mother Teresa thinks?

Y'know, there's nothing much to this Lincoln fella.

Sure he talks good and tells some pretty good stories.

But what has he accomplished?

Country is about to split apart.

Secessionists are about to give him his comeuppance.

And he doesn't seem to show any predent deference to our generals.

Does he think he know more about war than they do?

And those kids of his and that menagerie they brought to the Executive Mansion.

Plus that dowdy wife of his and her extravagant furniture all at taxpayer expense no doubt.

Lincoln will turn out to be a one term president, mark my words.

ornery,
I'm coming around to your opinion that BHO may be in a win/win situation politically.
As long as the actual Dems in congress keep their spine and don't negotiate the House plan down into a meaningless piece of t-paper.

I say keep the bill strong. If it passes, fine, if it fails, fine. Blame the Republicans and Blue Dogs and let them face 2010 with that one on their record.

I think BHO and the Real Democratic Party could do very nicely pointing out who ruined the chance for effective healthcare reform.

People have figured out how our 'democracy' actually "works", and they now understand just what an obstacle to progress the Senate can be when basically two senators call the shots. (Baucus/Snowe)
