Radio's Rush Limbaugh, who famously has wished that President Barack Obama will fail -- his agenda, of course -- is hard-pressed to say what he likes about the president.
In a rare interview, Limbaugh was asked by NBC News' Jamie Gangel what President Barack Obama has done which meets the radio commentator's approval.
Limbaugh rubs his chin for some time, comes up short.
Is there anythng good about the president?
Obama has a good voice, says Limbaugh, he of the Golden Microphone, The president reads from a TelePrompTer very well, Limbaugh adds -- all for intended effect, of course.
Limbaugh really is a nice guy off-mic, the interviewer suggests. Old-fashioned even, in his politeness. On-air, it's another story. On-air, Limbaugh admits, he loves yanking chains -- and he enjoys the two days of press he gets out of his most outrageous lines.
The showman carries on..

Comments
Maybe Limbaugh would just go away if we actually ignored him instead of finding ways to give him more attention and air time.

Nothing he ever tries to accomplish ever occurs.
If he is so great why is the Repugs on the sidelines in all chambers?
Why is Hillary back in power?

Things I like about Rush Limbaugh...Hmmm...Let's see...He convinces gullible, ill informed ,rubes that he knows what he's talking about really well. That's about all I've got.

Hey El Rushbo,
I'm not surprised that Obama's communcation skills make you red faced with anger, you carried water for a guy (Bush) who couldn't speak even when he had a teleprompter.

By Rush's own admission in a CBS interview he says the things he does for RATINGS and MONEY. By his own admission he does not have deep ideological convictions for saying what he says. And this is the person Conservatives look to for inspiration?

You have to love it when a fat, dangerously out-of-shape corporate prostitute (Boss Limbaugh), making 50 million dollars a year for being a right-wing racist and propagandist decides that white guys are being discriminated against.
You know how wingnuts love the motto: "America is the greatest country in the history of the world?"
Well, the fact that America had a bowel movement in Missouri about 50 years ago and out plopped Boss Limbaugh...and this walking pile of goo became rich and famous for having sociopathic right-wing visions of granduer in a radio booth...I would have to say that that depressing episode would make America home of some of the dumbest right wing goobers in the world.

Posted by: Quippy | October 12, 2009 2:55 PM
Rush's comments on Friday that he agrees with the Taliban about the President winning the Nobel Peace Prize prove how unpatriotic he is. By Repubs standards, one could say he is "palling around with terrorists." And, believe me, folks, he is still drug-addled. If you watched the video from his appearance at that conservative conference in February, you could tell he did a line of coke just before coming out on stage. Go watch it on youtube. As he talked, you could see it rush (no pun intended) over him. He rubbed his nostrils, then he started bobbing, and finally pumping his arms wildly. He has merely traded one drug for another. I have seen coke-use, and believe me, he's on it. Don't you people feel used and betrayed yet? After the years of railing against drug abusers and find out he's doing it too, wow, pathetic! How do his fans support that, are you blind? Hypocrite.

So, Limbaugh admits he's no great thinker, no expert on policy, politics or government (not surprising). He's winging it. He just makes up crap and gets paid for it; in my book, that makes him a con man on an enormous scale.

Limpbaugh, the voice of the dysfunctional Republican party = draft dodging, cheater and adulterer, drug user, and an unpatriotic bigot who barfs up lies and falsehoods day in and day out.
The funny part is that the right wing ditto heads really believe that Rush really cares about the policy stuff he spews out. It's all about the money to Rush. He's an entertainer who deals in hate, telling a bunch of right wing rubes exactly what they want to hear, while he rakes in the big bucks and then laughs all the way to the bank at the idiots who actually buy his schtick.

I think its grand that Nobama has excellent teleprompter skills. After
his first and last term as President
he will be more than qualify to be the
head news reader at NBC,MSNBC, ABC, CBS, CNBC, and CNN. I would be more than happy to give him a great recommendation. Unfortunately for him he could not qualify for the Love network, or Fox news.

Reputable, credible media outlets (NBC, CNN, MSNBC, Time and Newsweek magazines, for example.) diminish themselves by featuring racist, misogynist, belligerent blowhards and has beens like Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Lou Dobbs, Pat Buchanan, etc. It's best to ignore them. If no one paid attention to them, they'd go away or at least try some other tactic to gain attention. As with Sarah Palin, media attention only serves to encourage them by feeding their sick egos.
Posted by: Carol A | October 12, 2009 4:46 PM
Gripping story, thanks for bringing it to our attention.
What happens when you see a Rush Limbaugh story come across the wire? Why do I imagine you get about as excited as a 16-year old girl on prom night?
Keep giving us stories on Limbaugh and Sarah Palin. That's the only way we're going to get out of the horrible mess we're in, thanks to W. Right?!?!?

Climate change is a "hoax" and if you care about our environment you are a "tree hugging wacko". Invading Iraq was a good idea. Tax cuts for the wealthiest 5% of Americans and economic disaster for the rest of us is fine. Getting out of serving your country by having your rich daddy get you a note from your doctor saying you have an ingrown hair on your butt and telling everuone you had a "football injury" is ok. Vic addict, can't get it up for carribean prosities without viagra. What a great guy!

Rush is such a wonderful and productive addition to our political landscape. I'm so glad he makes time to ridicule our national leaders between shopping for doctors to sustain his ongoing drug addictions.
Posted by: HighTimes In California | October 12, 2009 5:56 PM
So, with that last line what you're saying is Mark Silva carries on? Because there's been no real news other than "Obama's great all the time" reported at this partisan mess you call "the Swamp" for quite some time. Nice job, there, showman.
Posted by: Jeff | October 12, 2009 6:00 PM
That seals it for me. I am a huge fan of objectivity. When someone has only criticism or praise and never both for a person, they have zero credibility in my eyes. No person, Obama or otherwise, has only negative or only positive attributes. We all have both. If Rush can't Man Up, and see both sides of the man, then he has no credibility himself, and he is merely attempting to feed an anti-Obama frenzy.
Posted by: Raven | October 12, 2009 6:03 PM
There's a part of me that wishes that Rush be awarded an NFL team, just to highlight how much he's despised by so much of America -- especially in the context of the NFL, the keepers of America's Game and official macho, man-crushing action.
If Limbaugh thinks anything can be bought, then he should buy a friggin clue. Since his fiasco at ESPN he should be well aware of how the league feels about him, but of course his ego wouldn't allow him to believe so many folks hate him so much

The Dems protested Bush for things he did, the Repugs protest Obama for things Rush and Glenn Beck tell them he might do.
When people call Faux news "right wing propaganda" and "the media arm of the Republican party" it isn't trash talking, it's the truth.
