The White House can't stand the truth- More FOX.-

Why is the White House so defensive? Isn't this supposed to be the "open" and "transparent" administration that we have pegged all of our "Hope" on? Surely they can answer the questions of naysayers without appearing so defensive and standoffish then right??

Facts/reality? Their facts don't address 1 question brought up. Is vancouver in debt or not? quoting someone talking about receiving a bid and then talking about a misstatement about the games actually already happening is a joke. Where was Valerie Jarret? Has she never worked with the NEA? Who did she divest to? These are questions any real reporter would ask of chicago politicians democrat or republican!! The question for you is "does axelrod directly call you with the lies to cover their lies?" Oh my bad thats from the whitehouse blog so you didn't actually write this you just printed it!!

Good for the White House for calling out FOX "News" for its complete disregard for the truth. It's one thing to have a conservative or liberal slant, but the likes of Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, and Greta Van Susteren just make things up on a daily basis...and people actually believe them! With the exception of a few individuals (i.e., Shepard Smith), FOX has "reporters" that just ignore facts. How can one take that channel seriously? It's a joke! I appreciate educated debate, but you cannot debate with people who repeatedly lie and ignore facts. FOX is not news, people, it's a laughable circus!

Where's the footage of G.W. Bush taking time to deliver a birthday cake to Sen. John McCain while New Orleans was drowning? Where's the video of Bush continuing to read "My Pet Goat" to schoolchildren while the U.S. was under attack? Where are the figures showing how many days Bush spent in Crawford, "chopping brush"?

I can only think that conservatives must be extremely desperate. They've been rendered completely impotent. They've conceded GOP leadership to Beck and Limbaugh! Pathetic and laughable, they are making total fools of themselves.

I am not a huge fan of FOX and its commentators, in fact I am not fan of any of the news shows and their commentators as I think all are 'slanted' one way or another. However, aren't the people who watch FOX News the ones Obama and his administration need to convince that his plans are what America needs? How does he get his message across to these people by ignoring them? After all, in the absence of leadership...who knows what the people will listen to

Based on an initial projection of $5 billion, that would be a $1 billion over. While the games haven't started yet, you can still get a good idea of how much over budget they are.

The White House response to Glenn Beck's comments were incredibly disingenuous.

Has anyone asked LA why they pursued the 2016 games if the Olympics are such a “city killer?” After all, they hosted 1984, so it seems as though they would know what they were getting themselves into. And why would NYC have pursued the 2012 games if the Olympics pose such insurmountable security and logistical issues, even after suffering the 9/11 attacks? Were both city’s governments hijacked by a bunch of wackjobs who wanted nothing but to see their cities die? Ridiculous, huh? The city’s political climate not withstanding, Chicago can and will pull this off. I hope all these anti-Olympic bellyachers get together, and maybe put up some real reform aldermanic and mayoral candidates in 2011, if they are really that scandalized by the way this city is run. We all know why Barack doesn't visit FOX....they have the guts to challange him. And we know why he goes to ABC, NBC, and has a bed at CBS....they don't say nothin'.

In the post that was censored, I happened to ask why Mark Silva left out the fact that the "guest" on Glenn Beck, Pat Caddell, is a DEMOCRATIC strategist and pollster. In fact, in the past Caddell had worked for Jimmy Carter and Walter Mondale.
In the post censored I asked how much money Mark Silva gets from the Obama administration? Mark, are you so offended by such a question? The question is legit because nearly all of your Swamp items is spent defending this administration, covering up for this administration, bashing this administration's critics, etc.
In the post censored, I noted that Pat Caddell mistakenly said Chicago had shut down several days this week when he obviously meant the year. It's a mental mistake people make ALL the time.
The post censored also noted the many posts here in which the posters did the work Mark Silva should have. Work such as how much over budget the Vancouver Olympics already is, even though it hasn't happened yet.
In the post that was censored I said I really didn't care whether Chicago got the Olympics or not, and in fact thought it would be nice to have the world focused on Chicago for a couple of weeks because it is such a beautiful city. (Perhaps the Chicago Tribune censors don't like people saying Chicago is beautiful city?) But I also suggested that perhaps the Daley, and even Obama administrations should perhaps spend more time figuring out how to keep Chicago safer so 16-year-old honor students don't get the life beaten out of them or that folks who live on the third floor of an apartment building in Lincoln Park aren't robbed.
Why do these comments merit censorship? It makes one ask if the Chicago Tribune censors this stuff, what else does it censor? It also makes one believe the Chicago Tribune CANNOT be trusted as a news source or as a fair arbiter of opinion.
Also, Glenn Beck just responded to the White House blog. Beck apologized for his mistake about Vancouver losing $1 billion. He meant Calgary, not Vancouver. Then he proceeded to note all the cost overruns so far in Vancouver.
But the real issue is that the Chicago Tribune CANNOT be trusted. The Chicago Tribune does not believe in the First Amendement and in fact is an ENEMY of the First Amendment.
I'm sure this will get censored too becuase it is clear the Chicago Tribune has no interest in legitimate debate.

Notice how Glenn Beck's fans either ignore the lies that he has just been called out on, or else go through contortions trying to find some grain of truth in his lies....I mean really, 'Vancouver...Montreal...they're both in Canada, right so what's the big deal?'

I don't know how anyone can honestly watch Glenn Beck and not see that he is a phony. His pathetic "emotions" and how much he "loves" his country is simply a ploy to fool uneducated easily swayed conservatives. The man spouts half truths and contradicts himself on a regular basis sometimes within the same broadcast. The man claims the President is a racist and has deep seated hatred for whites, the mans mother is white. I sincerely doubt the man hates white people when an entire side of his family is white. The Fox News Channel in general is the most biased news network out there, when Bush was in office he could do no wrong and now no matter what Obama does he is a socialist tyrant. Funny how the man who approved torture and spyed on american citizens is the good guy and the man who is trying to give everyone healthcare is the ruthless dictator. If people wanna watch Beck be my guest but do yourself a favor and watch some other programs as well and read some different views, do your research instead of listening to a one sided phony. The man bashed healthcare in America when he worked for CNN and now that he works for FOX claims we have the best healthcare in the world. He makes money off foolish people by scaring them into false beliefs.

One important comment about Chicago. Mayor Daley hosted an Air and Water Show on public land, inviting 2 Million people onto a small parcel of space for 3 days. Understandably it was left a disasterous and dangerous mess, and it was the next day that he gave all city services the day off. This is just an example of what the city faces if it gets the Olympics. So if our city is too broke to clean up, how can we possibly host 3 weeks of private games on public land?

Think of ways to find truth for yourselves. Don't just regurgitate whichever news station or celebrity or congressman tell you. Find out the truth for yourselves !! Without that there is no discussion. Democracy depend on its citizens take on their civil responsibilities - understand the topic, know the facts, discuss civilly. Too much scams are floating on the surface, the air waves. It's sad how some people are just mouths and no-brain !

The truth about the Vancouver statement was Glenn accidently said the wrong city. The correct city actually was 1b in debt and Vancouver is already over budget.....But, as a true liberal mind, as the minds are in the White house, you are either too dim to understand what someone meant or lack the cognetive depth to focus on the real argument. Instead you tend to focus on something else... that usually ends up calling the person dumb.
