The Supreme Court today cleared the way for the execution of Beltway sniper John Allen Muhammad.
Scheduled for execution Tuesday evening in Virginia, Muhammad was convicted of masterminding the sniper-shooting rampage that terrorized the Washington, D.C., area in the fall of 2002. Sixteen people were shot, and 10 of them died.
The justices turned down a final emergency appeal from Muhammad's lawyers claiming that he deserved more time to develop his appeals.
Three justices -- John Paul Stevens, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Sonia Sotomayor -- added a statement saying they were troubled that Virginia did not give convicts one year to file their federal appeals, as set in federal law.
But they also said that they saw no reason in Muhammad's case to stop the execution.

Comments
Typical Swamp coverage: qoutes from the defendant's lawyer and the justices appear but NO qoutes from sniper.

It's really a shame that the piece of garbage (Muhammad) isn't already rotting hell.

Gus,
Unless you're joking, reread the post.
The review was between the Justices and the defendant's lawyers (his legal representation) and a discussion of the legal issues. They did not try the case (he has already been found guilty). They only determined that there was no legal reason to delay the execution. The sniper did not take part in those discussions and would have had nothing to add.

GUS - Most people don't care what the sniper has to say!

So sad that some soft-hearted Liberal can’t just take him home and keep him under their care for a good 30 or 40 years. His traveling buddy gets a pass. Life is so unfair.
What key is Kum-Ba-Yah in? No self-respecting songbook of mine seems to contain this dreary little tune.

Hey folks,
.
I think Gus was kidding. It sounds like a spoof on Bruce and/or John D. who can be not infrequently found complaining about the bias of an article.

Let me question his lawyer did he ask for an appeal when he was killing all the innocent people. NO, did he give those innocent people a chance to talk? NO was those innocent people responsible for his gulf war problem? NO so for the lawyer, why does anyone care to hear what he has to say. that person destroyed alot of lives and you think he deserve to be heard. The families of all those innocent victims should be the people heard. Listen to those people hearts and feel their pain, pain that will never go away. God can heal all wound, but you know what the families that lost their loved ones need to know that people like me feel their pain. The person that took all those lives let him talk to God just like all those victim family did and still do today. I might sound like a mean person, but i'm not I'm just believe in justice and for those that believe he deserve an appeal.I am LMFAO and you sould too.

I’ve seen it most often in the key of C.

Hey, thanks John W. Certainly this would be the key to pick, all other things
unknown. I guess it does capture the desired mood, but it sure is a dreary kind of thing. My song selection, for the occasion would be: "Baby Done a Bad Bad Thing".
