Condi Rice, Sarah Palin or Laura Bush?
Condi.
Asked which forthcoming memoir people are most likely to read - former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's, former President George W. Bush's, former First Lady Laura Bush's, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's mor former Vice President Dick Cheney's:
The greatest share of the American public surveyed on this says Rice.
Twenty-two percent of those surveyed picked picked Rice's, followed by 11 percent for Bush's, 9 percent for Palin's, 7 percent for Laura Bush's, and just 4 percent for Cheney's, according to the findings of a 60 Minutes/Vanity Fair poll conducted by CBS News' Elections and Surveys Unit.
And if one state could be removed from the union, those surveyed say, California leads the list.
More than four in 10 Americans also are taking no steps to avoid the H1N1 virus, aka Swine Flu, the survey found.
"The news media's focus on the H1N1 virus has apparently done little to convince almost half of the public to take any measures to protect themselves against it,'' CBS and Vanity Fair report. "When asked what changes they had made to avoid the swine flu, 44 percent answered, "None--I'll take my chances."
Among those identifying themselves as either Republicans or Democrats, Rice romps in both parties - with 25 percent of both saying they are likely to read her book. Cheney, on the other hand, finds no more friends within his own party - only 4 percent of Republicans likely to read his book.
With talk of state secession ranging from Texas Gov. Rick Perry's off-handed comment about cutting Texas free to the Alaskan Independence Party, those surveyed have another candidate: Asked to pick one state to remove from the United States, 10 percent chose California, 8 percent Texas. Hawaii and Alaska tied for third, with 3 percent each - so much for the president's birthplace.
The 60 Minutes/Vanity Fair Poll is a "monthly measure of the American conversation" on a range of topics. These results came from a random sample of 829 respondents nationwide conducted Oct. 5-8 by CBS News. That puts the margin of error somewhere around 4 percentage points.

Hands down I'm looking forward to the Decider's (I think he might end up confirming a lot of things the left felt at the time he was president.) Didn't know Condi had one, she has a pretty interesting background, but I think I'd go for Laura's instead. She was soo low key throughout, and it would be interesting to see what she'd like to present to the public. I once heard that the US has three weak environmental spots. Parts of NY could go below sea level given a tsunami originating on the opposite side of the globe, California could break off or suffer because of the fault line, and New Orleans could flood given a big enough tropical storm/hurricane (has happened). So maybe California well wishers might find themselves in a tough predicament. A better poll-- due to the media's focus on the H1N1 virus, how many in the media have taken the precautions.... That should be a Chicago Tribune round the office poll.

A story about a hopeful, well-rounded person trumps a story about a bitter divisive, one-hit-wonder character. Who would've thought!?

Palin is personally responsible for the anti-Obama hate going on right now. The Secret Service asked her to stop inciting people and she didn't.
She and her followers are a direct threat to the first black President and his family.
How Oprah can give airtime to this trainwreck is beyond understanding for me. UNLESS she uses the time to call her out on her "REAL Americans" crap.

Hey! What’s up with this? Red State No. 1 should be No. 1 on this list too. What’s up with that? Somebody is not polling enough democrats.
Saw this published quote relative to what Django knows will be a most civil discussion in the Swamp:
"California has a large supply of people who are demanding to move to Texas".
What the socialists can’t ever seem to figure out is that there is a point where people still need to be able to have some chance at a fair economic opportunity. There are socialist democrats in Texas, but thankfully they are kept in check with more effort than should be necessary in a utopian world. U just can’t strip a man down to his bare shorts, make a 2nd pass at him by placing a lien on his shorts after u have taken virtually everything else, and then expect that there will be prosperity to continue to flow and uplift the rest of the indigents. How would that work?
Moderate Tx democrats kind of slightly get some of this but u still have to watch them continuously. Never encountered a guy living in a homeless shelter ever being in a position to extend help to anyone. This is the NY model, the NJ model, just not the TX model.

Tex,
Take Texas, Alaska, Shrub Jr, Cheney, Rove and Palin etc and go ahead and leave the Union. We'd all be better off for it and the nations collective IQ would immediately increase by about 10-20 points

Yes! The TX Republic would only need to have a free trade agreement in place with Nazareth PA, Corona CA, and Mesa AZ. The Mesa AZ agreement would be needed only temporarily until AZ can look around and see the abject futility too. It won’t take that long.
TX Naphthenic Lube Oils ~ $14,995 per qt. U will be needing a whole lot of this for all those idle wind mills feathering n the still breeze.

Agreed, Oprah shouldn't give Palin air time to hawk books.
Sarah Palin/FABIO 2012!
PS
Yes, Rice does seem like she would have the most interesting book, maybe with some facts in it.

I'll bet Rice's book comes nowhere near Palin's in sales. Going Rogue gained best seller status within hours of its announcement. Rice's book will never achieve that status.

There was a full page ad in today's Houston Chronicle urging people to pre-purchase Caribou Barbie's book for only $4.97. What a bargain!

This is a hoot. As someone who spent a long time in publishing I'll be amazed if Rice's book rings up 20% of the sales Palin's book will.
Would I want to represent Ms. Rice? Absolutely. She's an outstanding woman but that doesn't necessarily sell books.
Palin is a phenomenon, like her or not and that is why she received a MUCH larger advance from HC than is being reported.

BC, I understand u democrats enjoy ripping on Caribou, and it’s no real problem for me, but allow me to amplify on this bold offer a bit. It is $4.97 as u have correctly stated. HOWEVER, when I read the offer on page A6 of Tuesday’s November 3rd Houston Chronicle, what they really seem to be promoting is a trial subscription to Newsmax magazine. U get 4 months of Newsmax + Caribou’s book, a “$45 value”, for only $4.97.
The Newsmax writers include: Bill O’Reilly, Ben Stein, Dick Morris, David Limbaugh, Michael Reagan, and “many others”.
www.newsmax.com/palintxh, special offer code 8FC7-1. Looks like Django needs to ante up.
I always read the Business Section first, to see what club the democrats will be using next as they continue to work me over. My own mother, a yellow dog democrat, has even started to pray fervently that they may show mercy. I then move on to the editorials, unless Krugman and Pitts are paired together as they are on certain days (this is just more than I can take in one setting). Then, the downsized, slim is less, sports even though the Dodgers and Red Sox are done, Not a Homer here. On most days the crossword gets worked. May have managed to not notice this ad even though it is huge. $4.97.
Thanx for the heads-up, and I did address your Django-BP-Global Warming-Republicans as Just Infidels issue.
