Action-figures speak loudly with words: A couple choice ones for president.

Sarah Palin, embarking on a natonal book tour with her Going Rogue memoirs, has one word for the way that President Barack Obama is handling the economy:

"Backassward.''

Sarah Palin action figure.jpg

That's how the former governor of Alaska and 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee put it during a series of talks that Palin had with ABC News' Barbara Walters, in a segment that aired this evening on World News.

""I would start cutting taxes and allowing our small businesses to keep more of what they are earning, more of what they are producing, more of what they own and earn so that they could start reinvesting in their businesses and expand and hire more people," Palin told Walters. "Not punishing them by forcing health care reform down their throats; by forcing an energy policy down their throats that ultimately will tax them more and cost them more to stay in business. Those are backassward ways of trying to fix the economy."

"You do have a way with words," Walters noted.

"I call it like I see it," she said.

Palin also embraced the word that former Vice President Dick Cheneyhad for what Obama is doing with the decision about troop deployments in Afghanistan:

"Dithering.''

"To listen to (Gen. Stanley) McChrystal, to listen to the appointee that President Obama asked for the advice from," Palin explained, "McChrystal gave the president the advice and said, 'We need essentially a surge strategy in Afghanistan, so that we can win in Afghanistan.'

"And that means more resources, more troops there,''' she said. "It frustrates me and frightens me -- and many Americans -- that President Obama is dithering around with the decision in Afghanistan." (The candidate at the top of the GOP's ticket in 2008, Sen. John McCain, has said he is "past angry'' about the delay of an Afghanistan strategy.)

But Palin hasn't followed the charted course of the past Bush-Cheney administration and its national security advisers very closely, or for that matter that of the Obama administration, when it comes to the ongoing crisis in the Middle East.

The White House today was outspoken in its criticism of Israel's intention to allow further expansion of settlements in Palestinian territory - a move that contradicts the requirement that the United States and others have set for Israel and the Palestinians in pursuit of a lasting peace: Israel forfeits its encroachment of Palestinian territory, the the Palestinians guarantee better security for Israelis, the two basic tenets of both the Roadmap to Peace that the Bush administration was pursuing and the "two-state'' solution that the Obama administration is pressing in Israel.

"I disagree with the Obama administration on that," Palin told Walters in the interview aired tonight. "I believe that the Jewish settlements should be allowed to be expanded upon, because that population of Israel is, is going to grow. More and more Jewish people will be flocking to Israel in the days and weeks and months ahead. And I don't think that the Obama administration has any right to tell Israel that the Jewish settlements cannot expand."

Palin also still maintains that she has a unique perspective on Russian relations from her vantage point in Wasilla.

Palin had told the host of this evening's news, ABC's Charles Gibson, in one of her premier campaign interviews back in September 2008 that Alaska's strategic location was part of her foreign policy portfolio: "They're our next-door neighbors, and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska.''

Palin had taken some heat for that in Tina Fey's Emmy-winning portrayal of Palin on Saturday Night Live. But Palin told Walters that she had never suggested that she could see Russia from her house, but her state's position is "very significant....

"We are a gatekeeper for the continent. So for national security reasons, and for energy independence and resource development reasons, Alaska should be recognized for its strategic location on the globe.''

Stick around for more backassward comments from the looney left. Watch as Sarah single-handedly pushes them off the cliff onto the rocks below.

Leftists just cut and paste the same vile, idiotic comments from the last dozen Sarah Palin columns.

She is absolutely right about Obama's economic plan: That stimulus worked so well and it only cost 780 billion. Why not do it again? Maybe round this one off to 1 trillion $$$$$. Or, here's an idea that has actually worked. Cut taxes and let small business hire people, and stop threatening them with Cap and Tax, healthcare penalties and socialism.

Ihear Sarah Palin say that on the news tonight and did a double-take. I used to work with a guy who used "backassward" all the time. Kind of famous for it, in fact... just brought back a memroy.

Ahhhh, here is Mark using a doll of Sarah Palin. Mark, you still think you are a legit, objective, unbiased reporter?
Anyway, what Palin told Walters is spot on. Clearly this shaministration has no clue how to grow an economy. They do know how to grow a government. They do know how to spend recklessly. They do know how to make up employment figures.
And in regard to Afghanistan, McChrystal gave his recommendation and report to Obimbo three months ago. Meeting after meeting and the Moron-in-Chief still has no clue and is incapable of making a decision on a war he said was "a war of necessity," and "the good war." McChrystal is the guy he put in charge in Afghanistan and this blithering idiot still has no clue. What a joke.
IMPEACH THE MORON NOW. GET RID OF HIM NOW, NOT NEXT WEEK, NEXT YEAR, NOT 2012, BUT NOW!

Yeah.....if only we would have listened to Crazy Sarah.....HaHaHa!!!!

The longer the GOP keeps feeding her soundbites the better. She is already discredited (remember her "In God We Trust" coin conspriracy theory?). Who would want this woman to be their mouthpiece? She is killing any vestige of legitamacy the right wingers ever had. Can you imagine any other GOP candidate running on her ideas? I can see the crowds reaction now: "Wait a minute? Wasn't that a crazy Sarah Palin idea?"

Wow did she hit the nail on the head.

Hmm, let's see if I can decode this latest round of Palintology...

Obama has it assbackward on the economy - because in ten months he still hasn't reversed the eight years worth of Republicans letting Wall Street run like a casino, starting an unnecessary war and tax cuts for billionaires - thus causing our economy to tank in the first place?

Yeah, that'll work Sarah. Run with it.

Sheesh. Since Palin has 2 years before she has to start acting like a serious candidate, you would think she would stick to platitudes and, at least, avoid being proven completely wrong, but, NOOO! Frankly, all of her positions are based on long-discredited, anti-middle class, pro-business Republicanism (it is not even true conservatism). We've already seen what the Republican tax cuts for the rich, tax cuts for the rich, tax cuts for the rich mentality does. We've done it twice, under Reagan and under Bush Jr and it was a miserable failure both times. Instead of encouraging business to hire more employees, companies flush with cash just start buying competitors and down-sizing their staffs. The end result is that a bunch of rich men get obscenely rich and a bunch of working-class people lose their jobs. I am not sure how that is "good" for anybody but the already rich Republican cronies.

As for the Israeli settlements, both sides have already agreed that a two-state solution is the only way to solve the dispute. Yet, Palin thinks the Israelis should continue to expand the settlements in what they've already said publicly will be Palestinian territory?? That doesn't sound like it will help negotiations.

Finally, how the heck do we gain something by flooding troops into harm's way with no particular plan to use them. We spent 5 years floundering in Iraq without any plan and I don't think anybody will say we were doing the right thing from the start there. Even the "surge" strategy in Iraq was more about paying off Sunni insurgents to keep the peace rather than the volume of additional troops (and, while it is obviously more peaceful now, I would strongly recommend you wait a decade before you declare any kind of success in Iraq). Without a similar plan in Afghanistan, it would be exceedingly foolish to risk more American lives.

The point of all this is that Palin is not just spouting long-discredited Republican talking points, but was demonstrably wrong on all matters.

Time for a new post name Teresa, you've been busted again.

NEW WORD: Republizombie (re-PUB-li-zom-bee) (n)

1. Former GOP office-holder, now undead, unkillable; see Palin, S.; Cheney, D; Delay, T.; Armey, D.; Gingrich, N. A flesh-eater, the Republizombie counter-intuitively eats the flesh of other GOP; see 23rd Congressional District, NY.

2. Former relative of a former GOP office-holder, such as the former fiance of the daughter of a former Governor; like the other Republizombies, the second-tier Republizombie is seemingly ubiquitous, appearing on The Today Show, Tyra, and naked in Playgirl.

the only thing the picture is missing is a pointed hat and a broom, sorry stupid, Obama is doing a good job dealing with the economy, bassakwards is what you did to the alaskin economy, where is alaskas economy palin?is it broke?did you not run the state in the ground befor you quiet? belive me i no the answers, now when bush and tricky dicky went into afghanistan then decieded to change course and attack iraq was dithering on afghanistan, see if you and gout boy were in office the first thing ya all wanted to do was bomb iran, that would have been dithering on the two that you republican's already started,am i wrong? no i idn't think so,mabe Mr.Obama doesn't want to make the same mistakes that regan or bushs has made see Obama is a true AMERICAN not an antiamerican like you and another thing you are pro life but yet you like to kill people in wars that are waged for no reason this makes no sense to me it's a womans choice when it comes to an abortion not mine not the goverments but you are all for the goverment to tell you what to do and infringe upon your rights to make a choice ,on to israel when you mix religon and politics what do you get?i will let someone else answer that cause you wont like what i have to say on this matter for i am one the is true to evelution not a bunch of poppy induced fiction

I used to be a big fan of Obama from under influences by the media but knowing how I was not intelligent enough of myself about lack of obamas policy info.

I can't believe Palin has a college degree. The woman talks in circles, in run-on sentences. It makes my head hurt reading it.

Hey!! Mr Silva..You wouldn't put picture of Obama-Chia with the article about Pres, would you?

Free to Watch--

Don't you think it's funny she's not saying anything about her kleptomania on the book tour?

Nice. What's with the picture of the goofy doll in this article? I guess the Trib is taking cues from Newsweek by depicting Palin negatively. I don't see any news stories for Obama accompanied by an Obama doll photo!
The real story today should be the Whitehouse website reporting job creation via the stimulus in congressional districts that do not even exist. Can't wait for that explanation. The result was 60,000 less jobs created. So it appears I would agree with Palin here that the stimulus so far has not accomplished too much.

Palin sure makes a lot of sense, and comes across as trustworthy. Much more than the current liar in chief who doesn't seem to have a clue and can't present a clear idea because he doesn't have one.
Maybe that's why he's bows to other leaders so easily, the man has no spine and everyone is superior to him since he's never done a thing in his life! Palin also is able to speak without using a teleprompter constantly. I guess democrats are just impressed with anyone's ability to read.
Palin or anyone other than obama in 2012! " backassward" will be the legacy of obama's administration, it surely fits!
I wonder how many avowed communists Palin would appoint as one of her czars?

Free to Watch,

To paraphrase CONSERVATIVE columnist David Brooks, "The Republicans will NEVER nominate Sarah Palin."

He also called her a "joke," which I thought was a bit mean-spirited.

But his point is well taken.

If the Republicans are SERIOUS about Sarah, they will make her their standard bearer in 2012.

They are not.

She's just a rabble-rousing looney with no real idea about what is going on, but she is a perfect foil for fundraising, and the Republicans will pimp her out just that.

Moreso to her point about Israel, it's been pretty well-documented that more Jewish people are leaving Israel than staying. Indeed, it is better for Israel to negotiate a TWO-STATE solution than a ONE-STATE solution because in the next century the Jewish people will eventually become the minority. Their only hope in that case would be to do what the U.S. did to blacks post-Civil Rights legislation - lock 'em up and throw away their voting rights.

Backassward is a word people used when they were twelve. I'm sure if Palin was president she'd just quit and try again later when things were easier on her. What a fool. To think people still support her or would buy her book is pathetic.

"Backassward", eh. Well, she ought to know.

Watching Sarah Palin has the same fascination as watching a Jerry Springer show. Most people don't take her seriously, but we still watch. Liberals would like nothing more than having her as the next Republican candidate. She does well with sound bytes and catchy phrases, but you can see the wheels grinding when she has to think on her feet. Reagan was a little bit like that, but he was a much better communicator.

If she's smart she will ride this wave of publicity and popularity and get rich off of it. It will be interesting to see the "serious" Republican contenders try to walk the tightrope - they won't want to bash her, but they will still want to marginalize her role.

Another misogynist choice by the Tribune. Where is BHO's chia pet or dorky big-eared doll accompanying any reporting by Silva of his interviews? You misogynist pigs keep marginalizing this woman and you keep propping up a man (BHO) who has shown he is not up to the job.

She gave answers reflecting her personality. She is not a poser. Listen to Barry talk to SEIU and you hear a different man. She is real, honest and herself, not a chameleon who panders to the audience, as he has done repeatedly.

Please focus your laser-like analysis (snark) on what BHO says, does, and says he is going to do. He is the one in office, Bozo, not this woman.

I am so happy I canceled my subscription to this paper.

I'm glad Sarah's giving the real deal on economic stability! Aside from the mountains of debt she left first Wasilla then the state of Alaska as a whole, she's already quite familiar with how to do it the WRONG way!

You rock Sarah!

She'll say anything to sell her work of fiction.

Couldn't care less what she says, nor how she says it. I would take her any day over the tyrant now pretending to be President. B.O. Gotta Go!

As it stands right now I would votre for Sarah Pailin. She speaks her mind and is not afraid of the other view like someone at 1600 we know. She has to be better than what we currently have.

Free to Watch Whatever I Want: Funny you would mention pushing us off a cliff.

Bush already did that didn't he.

"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt."
Too late for Palin to follow Abe's advice, I'm afraid. To her defenders: get this through your unusually thick skulls: She. Will. NEVER. Be. President.

Run, Sarah, Run.
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, BRING THEM HOME, ALIVE AND WHOLE. NOW.

I guess phox nooz regularly reports on comments made by private citizens. Another example of why they are considered an outlier, far from the patriotic mainstream of America.

But Obama's done such a great job, everyone! He won the Nobel Prize! (Just like Gore!) >: /

Whenever I'm feeling down I know I can listen to Sarah Palin's latest soundbite and get a good laugh. Does she really have no sense of self-awareness? Surely she can't know how foolish she sounds...

I love how people call Mark bias and then proceed to call the president a moron. If Mark is bias, why do you continue to read his blog?

I'm sure Mark appreciates you reading his blog and adding to his readership.

Dithering?

Well I am sure she can instruct him on quitting.
Lets not even talk about how to raise daughters

Just where did Sarah get her information that more and more Jewish people are going to be flocking to Israel, and why does the word "lebensraum pop into my head why talking about a right to expand.

Dithering?

Well I am sure she can instruct him on quitting.
Lets not even talk about how to raise daughters

And the blind right emerges again to pin blame of our current situation on the stimulus plan put into place PRIOR to Obama being President. Palin is right about cutting taxes for small businesses, so why increase their taxes to fund an occupation in Iraq, to fund Haliburton, to fund AIG and many other failing businesses? Call it like you see it Palin and call out the reckless spending in 8 years under Bush. C'mon Sara, be relevant.

Generalizations, platitudes, and buzz words....I'm sold.

At least Palin is consistent...consistently an idiot that is. A surge in Afghanistan? are you kidding? That place is a complete wasteland that will fry us just like it has fried every other power that has tried to invade and occupy it. We NEED a clear exit strategy that says if we don't achieve these goals be this date, we are out of here. The people with a real chance to change that place is Pakistan and until they are ready to do so, we will be wasting American lives in that hellhole

Watch as Palin tours the country mouthing talking points that were used weeks or months ago. She is a dimwitted moron and those of you who would vote for because she peaks her mind and isn't afraid to spew lies and make stuff up, are just as moronic as she is.

Giving the real deal? Please... that's GOP speak, "er ah, the way to save the economy is cut taxes" Are you kidding? Giving the real deal? Like she just came up with that idea. Where have you idiots been for the past 8 years as the previous administration cut taxes more than once. Yeah that did a lot of good didn't it.

How can anyone say she comes off as truthful when she has been caught making up stuff in the past? Death Panels? "I read them all Katie", her stand FOR the bankbail out last Fall but then her claim in the book that it was a bad idea. Ignorance truly is bliss for the crowd that actually thinks this woman is special... She may be short bus special. She certainly is not intellectually special. She's a dope... and so are all the people that root for her. Simpletons.... Tell me people, is it hard ignoring reality or does it require a little practice? She seems pretty good at it. She reminds of the Pied Piper.... I only hope the results are the same.

'Tis better to dither than blither.

It is amazing that just the mention of Sarah Palin's name and the Left Wing Crazies and their Friends in the National News Media go completely Nuts. It is being reported this morning that the AP has assigned 11 reporters to uncover any untruths in Palin's new book. All they are doing is keeping her in the National Limelight. I personally do not believe Palin can get elected even Dog Catcher outside the State of Alaska. And I hate to disappoint my Left Wing friends but I doubt very much if Sarah Palin will be on the 2012 GOP National Ticket. You are probably going to see some new faces on that ticket.

Only a tiny brained tool of the left would post that grotesque doll of Palin.

""You do have a way with words," Walters noted.

"I call it like I see it," she said."

It's called talking without thinking. Which is fairly standard for Palin since she's unable to think.

Let me get this straight, the banks fail. Our 401K's and other investments drop 30%. Bush gives zillions in his "bank bailout" that went unchecked, untracked. And Palin is harping on the stimulus package? Really? More troops for the endless war? To what end, exactly? The reason this Independent voted with the left this election is because the right messed things up and touched every single American. I still look at my financial statements and get angry. If the Republicans are so smart, then how did we get into this mess to begin with? Pointing the finger at the guy who's been in the big chair less than a year is laughable. But, it's just politics. Palin and all the others will say whatever they have to to stay in the spotlight and sell books. Trust them in office anytime soon - just can't bring myself to do it.

Palin is cashing in, pure and simple. She has no future in electoral politics. She doesn't like the work of governing. She just wants to be a celebrity.

When does Fox pony up the talk show?

Cut taxes cut taxes the republican war cry . Fine cut those taxes , but where are you going to get the money to pay for all the wars you are so fond of starting .
Vote for Palin completely and utterly destroy the republican party .

Wow, The Democrats would never think of something as "radical" as that. Help small buisnesses, why thats crazy talk. I think the Democrats will stay with their plan as it's way better. Punish small buisness with new taxes and fees, give away (waste) trillions of dollars more and then blame Bush when unemployment tops 11%.

worsethanbefore teabagger:
Palin sure makes a lot of sense, and comes across as trustworthy......

"Palin sure makes a lot of sense, and comes across as trustworthy."

First, to suggest Palin "makes sense" is laughable. She is barely able to string a pair of coherent sentences together.

As to "trustworthy," I might suggest you look up "the odd lies of Sarah Palin," as noted by conservative columnist Andrew Sullivan. I can't even begin to list the lies she's told, many for no reason whatsoever.

"As it stands right now I would votre for Sarah Pailin. She speaks her mind and is not afraid of the other view like someone at 1600 we know. She has to be better than what we currently have.

Are you serious? I guess because she can see Russia from Alaska it makes her qualified to handle the delicate state of our foreign affairs in regards to Israel and Afghanistan.

Her view of cutting taxes on buisnesses wouldn't work. The condition of our economy over the past 9 years isn't going to persuade any business from hiring more people, they will keep the additional profits they earn to ensure the CEO's don't lose out on their luxury lifestyles.

Sarh Palin's "Energy Policy" is to turn off the lights in a room she's not currently in.

And "wee weed" when you were 2.

I cannot understand how liberals can do so much to destroy small businesses and large businesses with regulation and taxes and not understand that they are taking payroll money away. They are causing unemployment. Palin is right on! It's common sense! basic arithmetic! The Dems are dithering America away!

Here's another word for you Sarah: "laughingstock"

Look it up.

Calling all Palin fans...read her book..she is blasting your party not the Dems. How does that work?

Ha! She can't even get that right. It's actually "bassackward"...but, then she can't pronounce "nuclear" either.

Libbies always fear whom the cannot control, nor make conform! B.O. Gotta Go!

Liberals and democrats continue to fall back on the same tired, incoherent, out of touch argument each and every time Obama, his policies, and lack of progress are brought to the light of day - 'the last eight years...' blah, blah, blah. Most of those that overuse that tired excuse voted for Bush in 2004. What were these whiners doing to bring about 'change' for the last eight years if they were so unhappy? Bringing Obama to the table certainly does not count as a positive move. Please put a sock in the 'last eight years' argument, we're collectively sick and tired of hearing it and see it for what it is - a lame excuse for ineffectual and disasterous leadership; and we use the term leadership very, very loosely. Excuses are for little children and dysfunctional malcontents. We demand positive, what's good for America, and fair results, baby.

Palin, baby, Palin!

She is doing more that most of the nut jobs that attack her.
You might not like her, but she is working it better than anyone else -- she has a stage for now and is acting on it. I really do not think that she will run for Prez

Ok, so try reading one of Obama's interviews (with all of the 10,000 uuuuhhhhhh's interjected). I bet that will be fun.

Lochness, you are proof that the Obama-flavored Kool Aid has not run out.

Banderman -- Fine, you don't want to put any blame on Bush. OK. Can you list 5 things that he did that resulted in "positive, what's good for America, and fair results" -- baby? Tax cuts for the rich, while ignoring the poor and middle class? Tax breaks for companies that shipped jobs overseas and closed plants in the U.S., thereby putting thousands and thousands of Americans out of work? Bailouts for the largest banks? C'mon, help me out here.

Kathy, take a reality pill.

Mildew-Town,

Income Tax cuts for all income tax payers taht led to 73 months of economic growth - 5th longest in American history.

Low interest rates, low unemployment, low inflation, and tackling the terrorist problem that his predecesor had kicked down the road. There's five.

Milw-Town, the Bush tax cuts covered ALL Americans. In fact, under Bush the lowest wage earners NO LONGER pay a federal income tax:
http://www.heritage.org/research/taxes/wm956.cfm

Under Bush, as noted, ALL tax brackets were lowered. You also had an increase in child deductions, which largely helps middle and lower income earners, and he got rid of the marriage penalty tax.

Also, Bush sent out rebate checks to ALL Americans in one or two instances, and then to those making UP to a certain amount.

Sorry to burst your ignorant bubble, but facts are facts.

For those who cry about the liberal mainstream media, how could you explain MSNBC coming to Palin's defense?

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/34000354/ns/politics/

Not a huge Palin fan, but "dithering" is dead-on and is putting our brave men and women at risk...Is there an Obama Family member serving in the armed forces right now??? I wonder how much "dithering" he'd be doing if there was???

so this"going rouge" has yielded ?.this beligerent palin character, quitting and writting a memoir on excuses on faliure, and my fellow american buys it. i dont see liberal or consevative i see american, maybe i am still in jarhead mode but hey, it's gotten me this far, and back from war, twice. if i ever had a problem with anything it was brought up the chain of command, not trash talked to others about it. sepmer fi .

I don't mean to offend anyone, but I find it difficult to see how Sarah Palin can be taken seriously as a politician and 'potential' presidential nominee in the next presidential elections. In my opinion she comes across as lacking charisma and experience necessary to bring the US forward. Furthermore, I think it is a bit cheap how she is cashing in already on her fame by releasing a book and doing documentary shows.
