She is absolutely right about Obama's economic plan: That stimulus worked so well and it only cost 780 billion. Why not do it again? Maybe round this one off to 1 trillion $$$$$. Or, here's an idea that has actually worked. Cut taxes and let small business hire people, and stop threatening them with Cap and Tax, healthcare penalties and socialism.

Ihear Sarah Palin say that on the news tonight and did a double-take. I used to work with a guy who used "backassward" all the time. Kind of famous for it, in fact... just brought back a memroy.

Obama has it assbackward on the economy - because in ten months he still hasn't reversed the eight years worth of Republicans letting Wall Street run like a casino, starting an unnecessary war and tax cuts for billionaires - thus causing our economy to tank in the first place?

Sheesh. Since Palin has 2 years before she has to start acting like a serious candidate, you would think she would stick to platitudes and, at least, avoid being proven completely wrong, but, NOOO! Frankly, all of her positions are based on long-discredited, anti-middle class, pro-business Republicanism (it is not even true conservatism). We've already seen what the Republican tax cuts for the rich, tax cuts for the rich, tax cuts for the rich mentality does. We've done it twice, under Reagan and under Bush Jr and it was a miserable failure both times. Instead of encouraging business to hire more employees, companies flush with cash just start buying competitors and down-sizing their staffs. The end result is that a bunch of rich men get obscenely rich and a bunch of working-class people lose their jobs. I am not sure how that is "good" for anybody but the already rich Republican cronies.

As for the Israeli settlements, both sides have already agreed that a two-state solution is the only way to solve the dispute. Yet, Palin thinks the Israelis should continue to expand the settlements in what they've already said publicly will be Palestinian territory?? That doesn't sound like it will help negotiations.

Finally, how the heck do we gain something by flooding troops into harm's way with no particular plan to use them. We spent 5 years floundering in Iraq without any plan and I don't think anybody will say we were doing the right thing from the start there. Even the "surge" strategy in Iraq was more about paying off Sunni insurgents to keep the peace rather than the volume of additional troops (and, while it is obviously more peaceful now, I would strongly recommend you wait a decade before you declare any kind of success in Iraq). Without a similar plan in Afghanistan, it would be exceedingly foolish to risk more American lives.

The point of all this is that Palin is not just spouting long-discredited Republican talking points, but was demonstrably wrong on all matters.

The real story today should be the Whitehouse website reporting job creation via the stimulus in congressional districts that do not even exist. Can't wait for that explanation. The result was 60,000 less jobs created. So it appears I would agree with Palin here that the stimulus so far has not accomplished too much.

Palin sure makes a lot of sense, and comes across as trustworthy. Much more than the current liar in chief who doesn't seem to have a clue and can't present a clear idea because he doesn't have one.
Maybe that's why he's bows to other leaders so easily, the man has no spine and everyone is superior to him since he's never done a thing in his life! Palin also is able to speak without using a teleprompter constantly. I guess democrats are just impressed with anyone's ability to read.

Moreso to her point about Israel, it's been pretty well-documented that more Jewish people are leaving Israel than staying. Indeed, it is better for Israel to negotiate a TWO-STATE solution than a ONE-STATE solution because in the next century the Jewish people will eventually become the minority. Their only hope in that case would be to do what the U.S. did to blacks post-Civil Rights legislation - lock 'em up and throw away their voting rights.

Backassward is a word people used when they were twelve. I'm sure if Palin was president she'd just quit and try again later when things were easier on her. What a fool. To think people still support her or would buy her book is pathetic.

Watching Sarah Palin has the same fascination as watching a Jerry Springer show. Most people don't take her seriously, but we still watch. Liberals would like nothing more than having her as the next Republican candidate. She does well with sound bytes and catchy phrases, but you can see the wheels grinding when she has to think on her feet. Reagan was a little bit like that, but he was a much better communicator.

If she's smart she will ride this wave of publicity and popularity and get rich off of it. It will be interesting to see the "serious" Republican contenders try to walk the tightrope - they won't want to bash her, but they will still want to marginalize her role.

Under Bush, as noted, ALL tax brackets were lowered. You also had an increase in child deductions, which largely helps middle and lower income earners, and he got rid of the marriage penalty tax.

I don't mean to offend anyone, but I find it difficult to see how Sarah Palin can be taken seriously as a politician and 'potential' presidential nominee in the next presidential elections. In my opinion she comes across as lacking charisma and experience necessary to bring the US forward. Furthermore, I think it is a bit cheap how she is cashing in already on her fame by releasing a book and doing documentary shows.
