Radio's Rush Limbaugh is not only good for his own business - with a new eight-year contract offering him the potential to make $400 million.
Limbaugh also is good for FOX News.
Limbaugh's appearance on FOX News Sunday set a record this year in ratings for the network's Sunday morning counterpunch to Meet the Press and the rest.
Wallace drew 3,892,000 viewers, including 1,180,000 in the coveted 25-54 age group, for the show on the FOX broadcast network and cable FOX News Channel (2.35 million tuned in at FNC.)
Combined, that topped NBC News' Meet the Press on NBC and MSNBC combined , with 3,554,000 and 1,169,000 ages 25-54, according to Nielsen Media Research.
CBS News' Face the Nation and ABC News' This Week don't have similar cable outlets, but the FOX News Sunday combo on broadcast and cable surpassed them as well.
"I'm a - a guy who earns a percentage of what I generate every year,'' Limbaugh told Wallace in the interview that aired Sunday. "There are some guarantees, but the $400 million is not guaranteed. I have to earn that. So far...I could - I'm ahead of schedule, in fact..
"You're worth whatever your value is,'' he said, asked by Wallace to justify that sort of salary, "and that's determined by what somebody's willing to pay you for. And the only reason I get that money is because the people who invest in me get results beyond their expectations."
And for Wallace, who declined to discuss his own salary when we spoke with him about his fifth anniversary at FOX News Sunday, Limbaugh was box office Sunday.

The Great One will decide who get paid and how much. The Free Market is dead. Doctors and nurses should work 12-hour shifts for free. A janitor should get as much as an entrepreneur who creates and entire new market and economies of scale and wealth for many people beyond him/her. WELCOME TO THE LAND OF LOONIE LEFTIES, FOLKS. I don't listen to Rush, he's a smart guy but I don't care for his delivery and the racial stuff he spews turns me off. Besides, there are plenty of "free thinking" and honest reporter's and commentator's out there who haven't fallen for the "Wizard of Oz" factor with that tingle down their legs every time they mention Obama's name.
I heard Oprah visited the Netherlands and while there, she was so impressed with the Socialist Lifestyle. She thought it was just magnificent that no matter your profession, everyone was basically paid the same. Everyone was treated the same, received the same services and those people, gosh they're just so happy!
Then she came back to the good old USA where she can amass her Billions in earnings (what the heck does she do to earn that?), live the lavish lifestyle and get all those perks that us regular folks could never get.

Oh sorry, you're implying something here you probably have no direct knowledge of huh? Did someone tell you to write that or have you actually watched FOX news or listened to Limbaugh?

Do some math (I know this will be difficult for you).
Katie Couric makes $15 million per year. SHe reads a teleprompter for a daily 30 minute telecast. So if you calculate her salary over Rush's 3 hour per day broadcast, she would make $90 million per year. Who's overpaid?
With Fox's ratings, I think Rush just proved his market value.
