Sarah Palin: Gridiron-ready, Frank too: The Swamp

The Swamp

by Mark Silva

Those East Coast media who are always "making things up'' may not be the best friends of Alaskan Sarah Palin, the 2008 Republican nominee for vice president, but Palin is expected at one of the Washington media's most elite gatherings:

Palin resigns.jpg

A winter dinner of the Gridiron Club, that invitation-only assembly of Washington journalists which stages a white-tie evening of Marine Band-accompanied, off-the-record satire in the Capitol each spring ("Ladies are always present,'' the club's old tradition holds, "but reporters never are,"" though that's who's there.):

Both Palin and Rep. Barney Frank, the Democrat from Massachusetts who could arguably be described as a polar political opposite to the politician from the near-Polar Circle, are booked for the Gridiron's winter dinner in December, a good source tells the Swamp. Another good Gridiron source confirms that Palin has accepted the date.

So Palin won't be accusing the Swamp of making this up.

Youbetcha.

Mark,
You know you can't write about Republican leader, Saint Sarah! :)

It's makes Repug rubes like Billy Mobbie aka Teresa angry because they're embarrassed by what passes for Republican leadership (Palin) these days.

I'd call Sara, Beck, Hannity, Coulter, et al the 'porn stars' of right wing politics, but it would be an insult to actual porn stars.

Only a stone cold stupid moron (Republican) would still be gullible enough to believe anything Palin has to say.

Palin's as dumb as a box of rocks, and yet we still have the 20% that makes up what's left of todays Republican base who think she's a genius. Talk about being left behind in the intelligence arena....

Shocking, isn't it?......not.

Palin remains popular with what remains of the GOP base - middle aged, white, paranoid self-pitying people loaded with rage and whack-a-doodle grievances.

Palin with her dog-whistle racism appeals to the conceit of nasty stupid people. If Huckabee and Romney etc. started to euphemistically praise mean pinch-faced church-going bigots and issue euphemized putdowns of minorities and gays, their Republican approval numbers would sky rocket..

Think about it, the number of Republicans who like Palin are also increasingly the only sort of people who identify themselves as Republicans in 2009 - about 20% of America.

Racist: anyone opposed to anything our sallow-faced President says or does, including million dollars dates with his wife in NYC. Big difference between hom and Bill Clinton: he takes his wife.

Speaking of stupid Republicans like Sarah Palin....

Here's an interesting factoid from yesterdays Teabagger freak show at the nations Capitol:

By the time the Teabaggers performance art freak show was over, medics had administered government-run health care to at least five Teabaggers in the crowd who were stricken as they denounced government-run health care.

And then the Teabagger rubes shuffled back to the socialist Metro to go home ...

Mark, I have a problem with your belittling people for their accents and the way that they speak. Why are you such a bigot? And why do you think that is OK? Last week in the article about Confucius you made fun of the way Chinese Americans speak. This week you make fun of Alaskans, Canadians, N. Dakotans, Minnesotans and many other people of the North country with the "you betcha" comment. If its not bigotry, I'd to hear your explanation of what it is then...

Liberals are supposed to be sensitive and politically correct, right? Or, do you just want to use that ploy like a race card whenever you feel like it, but you don't really believe in equality and being unbiased. PFFFFF! Never mind I already know the answer.

Sarah Palin is actually a clever plot by Rahm Emmanuel and David Axelrod to marginalize the GOP. So far, I'd have to say that their evil plan is working.

Mark-
Nice of you to post an Enlighten American that a TelePrompTer fanatic ,

I am big fan of "Sarah Palin". I like her style and the way she talks to generalists.
