Up until the last 2 years, Perpetually Dumb Dumb Janet, when solar flare activity was high, yes, Mars was warming up. This according to NASA. In the past 10 years, PDD Janet, Earth's temps have stabilized. Just about ALL scientists are in agreement on this. In fact, global warming scientists "are perplexed as to why temps have stabilized and cooled the past 2 years."

Anyway, here is a littany of facts for you to digest:
June in Manhattan averaged 67.5 degrees Fahrenheit, 3.7 degrees below normal — the coldest average since 1958. The National Weather Service stated on July 1: “The last time that Central Park hit 85 in May . . . but not in June was back in 1903.”

In Phoenix, June’s high temperatures were below 100 degrees for 15 days straight, the first such June since 1913. In California’s desert, Yucca Valley’s June average was 83.5, 8.5 degrees below normal. Not far away, downtown Los Angeles averaged 74.5 degrees, five below normal.
Boston saw temperatures 4.7 degrees below normal. “This is the second coldest average high temp since 1872,” veteran meteorologist and Weather Channel alumnus Joseph D’Aleo reports at Icecap.com. “1903 is the record.” D’Aleo told me, “It has been so cool and so cloudy that trees in northern New England are starting to show colors that normally first appear in September.” Looking abroad, D’Aleo noted: “Southern Brazil had one of the coldest Junes in decades, and New Zealand has had unusual cold and snow again this year.”

New Zealand’s National Climate Centre issued a June 2 press release headlined, “TEMPERATURE: LOWEST EVER FOR MAY FOR MANY AREAS, COLDER THAN NORMAL FOR ALL.”

South African officials say cold weather killed two vagrants in the Eastern Cape. Both slept outdoors the evening of June 26 and froze to death.

July also has been more than a bit brisk.

“FREAK SUMMER STORM DUMPS SNOW ON YONKERS,” the New York Post blared after a July 8 storm brought a wintry mix to that city just north of Gotham. That same day, the high temperature reached 65 degrees at O’Hare International Airport, making it Chicago’s coldest July 8 since 1891. Meanwhile, in Melbourne, Australia, temperatures have been 10 degrees below average, while frost has covered lawns and windshields.

By the way, Janet, not only did Chicago suffer through one of the coldest Octobers on record, but do did much of the nation.

Also, scientists say in the past 20+ years sunspot activity has been pretty active, which many say accounts for the warmer temps. More sunspot activity means more radiation entering the atmosphere. Hence, temps on Earth AND Mars have risen lately!

Since its doubtful you will read this link it shows that 2008 was the 10th WARMEST year on record and 2007 was the 2nd WARMEST year. So yes I guess you could say that over the last "couple of years, there has been a cooling trend because it went from the 2nd hottest to the 10th and then 2009 will not crack the top 10 warmest but as you can see your claim is meaningless when you look at the big picture. Tony, over the past few weeks I have posted several links that show that the Antarctic ice cap has risen about 5 percent in the past few years. The Arctic ice cap has shrunk some, though the past couple of winters it has completely frozen over. One cap is growing, the other has shrunk a bit. While Edmonton is quite a bit south of the Actic ice cap, the fact it just recorded an all-time record low of -51 F is nothing to sneeze at. Hmmm, where is that cold air coming from?
Dumb Dumb Janet and the rest, 150 years or recorded data is rather minute compared to the life of this planet. While the 1990s were a warm decade, the 2000s have cooled, with the past two years actually showing planetary cooling. And, as noted over and over again, something called the Little Ice Age ended by the mid 1800s. When an ice age, little or not, ends, it does stand to reason that means temperatures will rise otherwise we would still be in an ice age, little or otherwise.
Oh and I love how ALL the scientists who disagree on man-made global warming are bought and paid for by Exxon! But it's just more derangement from the worthless souls on the Left.
And, Janet, I have no hair on my back. Unfortunately, you cannot say the same.

Again. You don't get it. 2007 was the 2nd warmest year on record. 2008 was the 10th warmest year on record. You repeating that 2008 and 2009 have shown cooling is meaningless when you realize how many recent years have been in the top 10 all time warmest in human record. Furthermore, I do believe that 1913 is the true warmest year on record. 1998 and 1999, as stated over and over, have seen temperature declines, which you do agree with. But somehow the fact that 1998 is cooler than 1997 is lost on you.
