During the tour of the White House at Christmas that Oprah Winfrey gave viewers last night, she also got the president of the United States to give himself a grade.

After nearly a year in office, Winfrey asked President Barack Obama on her ABC special, what grade would he give himself?

"Good, solid B-plus,'' Obama said.

"We stabilized the economy, prevented the possibilities of a great depression... The economy is growing again, we are on our way out of Iraq, I think we've got the best possible plan for Afghanistan,'' the self-assessing president explained.

"B-plus because of the things that are undone,'' Obama added.

"Health care is not yet signed...

"If I get health care passed, we tip into A-minus.''

B+ huh?

I think many of the people recently polled by Rasmussen and Gallup would beg to differ.

FAIL!

Countdown to the brainless comments from the Wingnutters about Pres Obama and Oprah in:

Yeah, the Bushco Republcans left a heckuva mess at Obama's doorstep on Jan 20, 2009. To bad the Repug Party of Personal Responsibility won't take Responsibility for making it in the first place..

Gosh, and I thought Harr-verd was one of those progressive institutions which graded on pass/fail, so as to not discriminate against the intellectually challenged. However, with the most recent polls showing Obama in the 40's as far as an overall approval and even worse on specific domestic policies he once again comes across as completely out of touch with the American folks. And what is with this NYT story that the WH is monitoring social web sites and blogs for folks who speak out against Obama and his lefty agenda? That should make you civl liberty hawks proud of the new, transparent admin. As the new year approaches and the 2010 elections worries start worrying the Dems (note the nine already retiring as they are throwing in the towel early due to Obama's policies) his Congressional pals are looking for cover. His healthcare boondoggle is a disaster that gets worse by the next big compromise of the last failed compromise and nobody knows what it is except a massive debt buster, even with their shady accounting gimmicks! Give it up or folks will give up on Obama and he will only have the support of the 20% hard-core liberal lefties. I give him a big fat F with a minus for the 3.5 million jobs created by his slush fund stimulus and his 3/4 support for the troops.

Yeah, who needs education, right Bubba?

I think we should always elect the town drunk from a small Wingnut town in Texas - a guy who's fun to have a beer with.

Another president like George Bush who doesn't look at poll numbers, eh?

Thank you Bubba for once again letting us know what it is that the right finds " real America". Apparently, it isn't a higher education. How many years does it take to grad-iate from Bubba U?

At this point the economy is in better shape than when Ronnie Raygun took over. In fact, it was noted that current unemployment is the highest it's been since 1983. That didn't stop Ronnie Raygun from getting re-elected in 1984. You see when your brain is not clouded by racism and hate you are able to understand that 8 years of mismanagement cannot be turned around in 4 years, much less 11 months.

Eight years of Republican leadership has left America choking on a $12 trillion national debt, a $787 billion taxpayer bailout, 10.2% unemployment and two wars whose purposes and astronomical costs are still unclear, with no end in sight. Middle America wants jobs, fiscal responsibility, affordable healthcare and quality public education for its children, none of which were delivered under a Republican administration and Republican Congress. Republicans had eight years to produce for America and they failed, breaking the spirit of Middle America along the way.

Republicans can go pound sand.

"We stabilized the economy, prevented the possibilities of a great depression" - don't think so. The economy was stabilized by TARP, something that he voted for as a Senator.

"The economy is growing again" - that was TARP, not Spendulus.

"we are on our way out of Iraq," - Have troops been w/d yet? I guess he has until May 20th for that promise.

"I think w'eve got the best possible plan for Afghanistan,'' - Time will tell on this.

"If I get health care passed" - I didn't know BO was "passing" it. I thought that was Congress' jobs? He might get its A-, but the next generation will get the bill.

You mean the economy isn't booming again yet because - in ten months Obama still hasn't totally reversed the eight years worth of Republicans letting Wall Street run like a casino, starting an unnecessary war and tax cuts for billionaires - thus causing our economy to tank in the first place? I'm Shocked!......not.

We are now grading ourselves. With unemployment rising to over 10%, and business still in a downfall and Trillion Dollar Plus Deficits, President Obama gives himself a B Plus. And if his Health Bill is passed and the deficits go up a few Trillion Dollars more he gives himself an A Minus. I wish when I was in college we all could of all graded ourselves. But I missed out because I went to college before the grade inflation. Now everybody gets A's and B's because we do not want to hurt anyone's feelings.

Obamanation or Abomination he will destroy this Country

A- Arrogance he shows us
B- is for The bullS$$t that he speaks
C- is for the communism he hopes for
D- is for the death of this country that he seeks
F- is for the failure that he needs

Depot Jimmy,
This country is going broke because of the way health care is right now. And I don't recall you Repuglican idiots complaining even once when your heroes Bush and Cheney were busy doubling the defict in the last eight years on the Military industrial Complex and tax cuts for Billionaires.

I don't know if you Teabaggers realize this or not but the rest of us out here who live in the real world know that when you call Pres Obama: "arrogant" it's code for "uppity black man"

You right wing haters need to work a little harder at covering up your racisim and hate with better code words, you're making this almost to easy.

"Many forecasters say stimulus spending is adding two to three percentage points to economic growth in the second and third quarters, when measured at an annual rate. Without that extra stimulus, we would be somewhere around zero," said Jan Hatzius, chief U.S. economist for Goldman.

I simply love the "Chicken Little" posters. The sky is falling, the sky is falling. Where the hell were they for the last 8 years. Better late than never doesn't cut any slack.

Interesting with a 44% aproval.

bill r,
The right wing noise machine was waiting for Jan 20, 2009 so they could blame all of their screw ups on Obama.

To Paul:

First of all you do NOT know my politics. I am in favor of Heath Insurance Reform but no Government take over of a whole Health sector as Obama is proposing. I also suggest you cut out the name calling if you do not know what you are talking about. Although All Presidents have had Big Egos I have never seen one with such arrogance in my life time in giving himself grades as Obama did. Although most of us out here hopes Obama does well he has been President only 10 months and it is way too early to grade how he is doing. That is like trying to rate a baseball game after only two innings have been played.

I award the highest grade for Obama: an A+ for his BS degree.

I'll give him a solid BS.

ET TU DEMONCRATS?!?!?

MOST DEMONCRATS ARE EVEN AGAINST NOBAMASCARE!!!

Obama and Democrats' Health Care Plan

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/obama_and_democrats_health_care_plan-1130.html

I'd say more like a C-. Hope is fine but that hope has to be followed by action - Obama hasn't provided any action. We don't need someone who wants to be conciliatory to everyone but we need someone to kick butt!

You right wing haters need to work a little harder at covering up your racisim and hate with better code words, you're making this almost to easy.

Zelda, when the transmission comes to you from planet Utopia with the list of all the codes words, would you please post them?

Solid B plus! LOL!

Gee Vernon Dean Werner should have just asked Mr. Blutarsky what his grade was in Animal House instead of telling him he had a 0.0.

Try incomplete at best.
He's like Daniel Simpson Day.. Has no grade average. All the effects of changes made are incomplete at this time.

Unless you are grading Obama on TV appearances, beer summits and part crashers. Fro that I give him a solid A for sure.

Hey Zelda, you say arrogant is short for uppity black man said by us racists, do we really need an uppity black man at this time? We have had 2 arrogant half black men in the news lately and both of them aren't really needed in society. One for his democratic liberal tendencies and other for proclivity for chasing women( white in particular). My motto is give them half a chance they will screw it up. In Obama's case he screws it up we all pay for it.

Considering no racial remarks were made you should probably look in the mirror for your own reflection it appears. You can disagree with anyone in this country, President or not. I would have probably graded Bush close to this. Dam, what would you call me then ...Oh, by the way were can I get a copy of your code book. I would hate to use anything racial as you have done. Most of us use better judgement and are not racist, but people like you keep adding words that you consider racist. And use the race card easily when someone doesn't agree with you. "Merry Christmas" Anything racial in that please let me know.

This goes to Zelda, Conservatives are compassionate. Look at all of the hate the left wing threw out there when Bush was president. I personally like President Obama, It's his policy's I have a problem with. I believe in free enterprise, you know keeping businesses going. You probably work for one of those companies that are not in the "real world." Also, republicans are the reason for affirmative action. why do you always go towards race. People like you just keep the pot boiling. Give it up already. I give President Obama an F for way more important reasons than race. Remember, he was black when he was elected. He will tell you that himself.

Zelda

I didn't see anything racial, right winged. Just a personal observation of how Obama has done since in office. Granted I didn't mention all the promises he made during the campaign, and has since changed. But back to the subject of race, could you please send the code book you are using, I surely wouldn't want to sound racist, but it seems to be used alot when you don't agree with other parties.
