Sarah Palin says she is no birther.
The author of Going Rogue insists that she has never suggested that President Barack Obama, a native of Hawaii, was not born in the United States.
Yet, in a radio interview this week, the Republican candidate for vice president last year suggested that the veracity of Obama's birth certificate is a worthy question. (She also spoke of "the snake-oil'' science behind climate-change theories -- ''the fact is, the Caribou population is increasing,'' Palin noted.)
Paln made an appearance Thursday on Rusty Humphries' radio show - see the full talk above. Humphries asked his guest, seen by some as a potential candidate for president in 2012, this question:
"Would make the birth certificate an issue if you ran?''
"Um, I think the public, rightfully, is still making it an issue,'' Palin replied. "I don't have a problem with that. Um, I don't know if I would have to bother to make it an issue, because I think enough members of the electorate still want answers.''
"Do you think it's a fair question to be looking at?'' the host asked.
"I think it's a fair question, just like I think past associations and past voting records, all of that is fair game,'' Palin told Humphries.
"You know, I gotta tell you, too, I think our campaign, the McCain-Palin campaign, didn't do a good enough job in that area. We didn't call out Obama and some of his associates on their records and what their beliefs were, and perhaps what their future plans were, and I don't think that that was fair to voters, to not have done our jobs as candidates and as a campaign to bring to light a lot of things that now we're seeing made manifest in the administration.''
Humphries added: "I mean, truly, if your past is fair game and your kids are fair game, certainly Obama's past should be. I mean, we want to treat men and women equally, right?
"Hey, you know, that's a great point,'' Palin said. "In that weird conspiracy theory freaky thing that people talk about, that Trig isn't my real son, a lot of people that, 'Well, you need to produce his birth certificate, you need to prove that he's your kid,' which we have done, but yeah, so maybe we should reverse that and use the same type of thinking on the other one.''
After Salon.com pointed out Palin's words on the Obama birth certificate question, the governor made this early morning entry on her famous Facebook page, now nearing 1.1 million in followers.
"Voters have every right to ask candidates for information if they so choose. I've pointed out that it was seemingly fair game during the 2008 election for many on the left to badger my doctor and lawyer for proof that Trig is in fact my child. Conspiracy-minded reporters and voters had a right to ask... which they have repeatedly.
"But at no point - not during the campaign, and not during recent interviews - have I asked the president to produce his birth certificate or suggested that he was not born in the United States.
- Sarah Palin
"I'm so thankful for Facebook,'' Palin told the radio host also. "I don't have to go through the mainstream media... spinning my words.''
"We love you,'' Humphries told Palin.

You just gotta' love Sarah Palin. She's a neverending fountain of right wing crazy.

It's shocking how many Americans fall for the insanely idiotic tactics of right wing nutjobs like Beck, Palin, and Shrub. Terrifying! Especially since I believe in Darwin and these creatures are a member of my species. EEK!
What I find funny is that these are the same people (Teabaggers) saying they are going to get their guns, march to Washington and on the state capitols and start a revolution.
Just as soon as their Medicare-purchased motor scooter arrives.

I'm not surprised in the least that Crazy Sarah is the most popular figure on the right.
I have learned that if you take the stupidest thing you can possibly think of and triple the stupidity level of it, it's still not as stupid as what the GOP is capable of.
Here's your average member of todays GOP - in all their low IQ glory.

Mark Silva-
Overlooking your passive aggressive distilling/simplifying the Palin interview down to her being a birther or not- How about you give up stalking Sarah Palin for a while and post anything about the Climate-gate story?
If nothing else, why not talk about why everyone except the MSM and the doe eyed Obama press corp think its a big issue?
2 weeks and counting- maybe you are waiting for it to go away----how embarassing

Calling all crackpots! Losers like Beck, Hannity, Dobbs, drug-addled Rush and their sheep will be all over this story.
Palin questioning Obama's birth place is like comparing the intelligence of a bag of rocks to Palin. The rocks wins every time.

Until someone posts Obama's 1961 Certificate of Live Birth, rather than his 2007 Certification of Live Birth, questions regarding his birthplace are legitimate.

PrePuke, I'm guessing that Mark realizes, like the rest of us do, that you right wing goons are full of crap...again.
The emails at the heart of SwiftHack were obtained from the Climatic Research Unit of a British university, and the basic conclusions of that university's work have been independently corroborated by three sets of American and Japanese researchers. So these Republican "complaints" amount to throwing out the baby because bathwater on the other side of the pond might be -- but really isn't -- contaminated.

Even if you think that BHO was born where he says he was, the fact remains that the MSM has constantly lied about the basic, objective, easy-to-understand facts of this matter. They've misled about what people said and they've even gone as far as just making things up.
Palin supporters should use that to discredit her opponents in the MSM by pointing out to their audience that those sources aren't credible. And, they can do that without engaging in any wild theories. All they have to do is tell the truth: the MSM has constantly lied about the facts of this matter.
See a partial list of those who've lied at my name's link.

Ummm, at some point I would think that she would stand for something, and not allow the craziest members of the public or the media filter to drag her by her nose when it comes to trivial private and sexist "fair questions." What's next? Asking for the sexual orientation of her children? Or, maybe, "what would you say if your daughter was ever in a position where she might need an abortion?" I would think Palin in her Facebookesque fire mode would have approached the issue as she has approached the media : "quit making stuff up." Instead, she chose to prove her son is hers and that nuttery is supposed to be the standard bearer for other officials "badgered" by the crazy people and media vultures.

Sister Sarah is right, because we all know that 48 years ago a plot was hatched in Kenya to plant a baby in Hawaii - knowing full well that the baby would one day become the President of the United States and drive the right in America over the edge with psychotic Teabagger-led paranoia.

How do I know that Sarah isn't really a Russian spy? I mean she lives right next to them, and she can pass signals to them from her house. also. you betcha.

To I Think I'm Dumb: Sarah Palin was born in Sandpoint, Idaho so you are really confirmed Dumb.
As for Obama's BC, why is he spending millions to hide it if there is nothing wrong with it? That's the reason this is not going away.

If "Caribou Barbie" is so hung up on birth certificates, when will she be releasing the Alaskan birth certificate that proves Trig is really her son?
Posted by: BC | December 5, 2009 11:52 AM
Sarah Palin:
Hey, you know, that's a great point,'' In that weird conspiracy theory freaky thing that people talk about, that Trig isn't my real son, a lot of people that, 'Well, you need to produce his birth certificate, you need to prove that he's your kid,' which we have done, but yeah, so maybe we should reverse that and use the same type of thinking on the other one.''
Question. Can Sarah make a simple English sentence without the words:"Hey, you know", "Wierd" ,"Freaky thing", "Yeah".
I know she's speaking extemporaneously but she's sounding so much like a "Valley Girl" that I keep thinking she's playing a part in a movie instead of conducting a serious interview

Oh my God did everyone check out those YouTube interviews at the Palin book signing. It looks like a bit from the daily show. They can't be real are they really the heart and sole of the republican party. My God we are in trouble so incredibly uninformed. This is an example of the people who watch fox news.

Nope. She has an open forum with no accountability to tell her lies to millions of gullible conservative morons. So why not.

Is there any difference between what Palin is doing on Facebook and the stuff coming from DailyKos? Palin panders to gullible conservative morons, and DailyKos panders to gullible pseudo-liberal morons. It’s all propaganda. We are up to our eyeballs in it. And there is a reason for all of this. Everyone has their own sense of comfort with a given world view and accompanying message. Politicians and the MSM are merely pandering to that sense of comfort, and they are more than willing to serve up truth de jour just to serve their own interests. Thus, if the likes of Rush Limbaugh, Sarah Palin, Glen Beck, or Sean Hannity didn’t carry that particular message, someone like them would emerge to fill the market demand.
.
If you want to hear the unvarnished truth, listen to someone who says stuff that (if true) would tend to harm their own interests. Next, listen to someone who has personal knowledge of a subject and is disinterested in the subject. Listen also to the news from other parts of the world, especially to those with views hostile toward us. If they are willing to admit what our propaganda machines are saying, then maybe it is true. Otherwise, believe nothing of what you hear and only half of what you see.
