Leno-O'Brien too much, Haiti about right: The Swamp

Sometimes the American people, like a good jury, get it right.

Following weeks in which one American comedian has paraded a racehorse across his stage wearing a mink snugli and a television network paid the entertainer $45 million to go away, and an earthquake claimed the lives of at least 150,000 in Haiti and other American entertainers went on air to raise millions of dollars for relief, people say they heard way too much news about the first and just about the right amount about the latter.

Seven in ten Americans (69 percent) say in that Pew Center news-interest survey released today that the media devoted too much coverage to late-night Conan O'Brien's departure from NBC;s The Tonight Show and Jay Leno's imminent return.

Seven in ten (71 percent) say the earthquake and relief efforts in Haiti have gotten the right amount of coverage.

The Pew poll of 1,010 Americans carries a possible margin of error of plus or minus four percentage points, but this call isn't even close.

It was great the way almost all of the networks pulled together last week to hold a fundraiser for Haiti......except for FOX.

The mouth-breathers at Fox Propaganda Channel did an hours worth of Bill-O chirping about his ratings and another hour of Crying Seany Hannity calling everyone on the left fascist/commie,/socialist,/marxist/nazi/puppie killers.

Republicans don't do anything FOR people, they do things TO people.

"So what does Fox do when the Hope For Haiti Telethon is on from 8pm to 10pm Friday night, they ignored it, and instead aired their regular programming, the O'Reilly Factor, and Hannity. What did CNN and MSNBC do, they showed every minute of the telethon. Yes Fox News was the only cable news network to not show the telethon. And not only did they not show it, neither O'Reilly or Hannity said one word about it, or told anyone to watch it and donate money. Because it was on at the same time their shows were on and they wanted to get the ratings. Talk about low life scum, O'Reilly and Hannity are at the top of the list."

For those readers too young to recall - or, I suppose, just not
particularly interested, at the time - it might help to get some
background on this whole Leno vs Letterman feud. Here's the
full story of how Jay Leno acquired 'The Tonight Show' hosting
gig from Johnny Carson, way back in 1993.

Two Swamp articles on the latest Pew Poll, but the Swamp omitted a key finding on page 7--when people were asked if in the last few weeks they formed a more favorable opinion of President Obama, or a less favorable opinion, it was 4-1 "less" (8% more favorable, 33% less favorable).

Bad numbers for The New Messiah. No wonder the DNC Swamp covered this result up.

Justa Notherguy-

That was a great read. Thanks!
