The Swamp

Maybe radio's Rush Limbaugh was trying to provide the Rev. Pat Robertson with a little cover, when he suggested on-air that people don't need to contribute money to Haitian earthquake relief.

It was Robertson who first suggested that the people of Haiti are paying for "a pact with the devil'' made centuries ago.

But it was Limbaugh -- at a time when the president is asking Americans to contribute money to earthquake relief and directing them to the White House Website to learn where they can help, as the State Department reports more than $3 million in $10 donations for the Red Cross through its text-messaging network -- who told a caller that all helping out will do is get someone on Obama's campaign email list.

"We've already donated to Haiti,'' Limbaugh told the caller on his radio show (here it below) "It's called the U.S. income tax."

President Barack Obama today announced $100 million in direct aid to Haiti for earthquake relief.

And the president's press secretary, who already had commented on the ''stupid'' remarks that Robertson had made, was asked what he has to say about Limbaugh saying Americans shouldn't donate money.

"Again, I think in times of great crisis there are always people that say really stupid things,'' said Robert Gibbs, the press secretary, at today's press briefing.

"I don't know how anybody could sit where he does, having enjoyed the success that he has, and not feel some measure of sorrow for what has happened in Haiti. I think to use the power of your pulpit to try to convince those not to help their brothers and sisters is sad. My sense is that most people, though, because they understand we're part of an amazing world, won't listen, and instead will seek to help those that they know, because through no fault of their own, have suffered an unspeakable tragedy.''

So the defacto leader of the Republican party (Druggy Rush) opens up his piehole and inserts his foot again?....I'm Shocked!.....not

All one need do is look at the picture at the top, then look at the baffon himself to get it. What a piece of trash.

Just imagine...

If Druggy Rush visited Haiti instead of the Dominican Republic on his "sexual tourism" junkets.

If Druggy Rush had been caught in the middle of this disaster amongst extremely poor Black people, most of whom do not speak English.

If Druggy Rush had to go for days without food or clean water or his vicodin.

Wouldn't that be an enlightening experience?

Limbaugh, the big fat bigoted piece of trash is just a hard wired 100% racist. It's the way 99.9% of the Republican party thinks.

As soon as the news of the massive Haitian earthquake broke, and after the horror of the event had sunk in, I knew that President Obama would be attacked immediately over it no matter how he responded by teabaggers and movement conservatives.

That's a sad statement to make, but after witnessing the behavior of the right wingers in America since Obama was elected in 2009, it wasn't that big a reach.

The headline should read, "DNC Swamp passes along White House's fact-free, and really stupid, words". As NRO explains:

"Obviously, when people are struggling to crawl out from rubble and with meager medical systems stretched to the breaking point, you've got to mobilize. But on the facts, Rush is right.

The tale of U.S. foreign aid to Haiti is maddening, as well-meaning Americans dump more and more money to alleviate suffering, only to see little or no actual improvement in the living conditions on the ground.

Since 1973, the United States has been the world’s largest foreign-aid donor to Haiti, which ranks among the world’s poorest countries.

From 1990 to 2005, the U.S. sent $1.46 billion to Haiti in aid from development assistance and children's health through the Economic Support Fund, the U.S. food program, the Peace Corps, and foreign military training (although that was only $4.6 million, with $3 million coming in 1995). More recently,

In May 2008, the Bush administration announced that it would send an additional $25 million in emergency food aid to Haiti, bringing its total emergency contribution to $45 million . . . Congress provided $100 million for hurricane relief and reconstruction assistance for Haiti and other Caribbean countries in the FY 2009 continuing appropriations resolution, signed September 2008. Haiti received an estimated $287 million in regular appropriations for FY 2009.

So why isn't all of this aid having an impact? Here's how Reuters gently put it:

A combination of factors has made it difficult to distribute aid effectively to Haiti, including poor governance, political turmoil and widespread corruption. Haiti's political system is unstable and plagued with infighting. Since 2004, a 9,000-strong U.N. peacekeeping force has been on the ground. Haiti is the third most corrupt country in the world, according to corruption watchdog Transparency International, compounding the difficulties agencies face in delivering aid in an accountable and transparent way. Power lies in the hands of a few elite, leaving ministries unable to implement policies and divert funds to the local level. Haiti's civil service is poorly trained and lacks the expertise to manage aid.

Should people give to charities to help the Haitians? Of course. But if the past is any precedent, a lot of today's donations will end up in the wrong pockets in the not-too-distant future."

In short, billions of U.S. taxpayers dollars have already been shoveled to Haiti, much in the form of so-called "emergency" aid. These are the facts the DNC Swamp and the White House don't wish to deal with.

I thought Limbaugh's statement was bad enough when he implied that President Obama would use the tragedy in Haiti for political posturing in the black community, but Rush is just an over paid junky who hears voices. Pat Robertson's statements on the 700 Club were much worse.

Imagine, Mr. Robertson, supposedly a man of God, is saying that the tragedy is a "blessing in disguise". He even said that the actions of their slave ancestors have contributed to their misfortunes ever since.
In other words, the Haitians brought this natural disaster onto themselves, and God is punishing them.

If Rush the right wing Junky and Mr. Robertson are God-fearing men, they would be very, very afraid of retribution

Rush is a stone cold idiot, nobody died in the failed underwear bomer/terrorist attack!

How dare Rush use a tragedy that killed thousands in Haiti, in order to attack Obama. I'm sorry...Republicans/Conservatives like him are such morons and will use any excuse to attack the President.

What's worse, is it's all about ..ratings. Limbaugh won't get ratings if he doesn't preach hate.

Wake up Republicans!, Limbaugh is not in your corner. Neither is Robertson.
What awful people

Fatman Limpbaugh would serve himself well by inserting his mic right up his fat behind as his head is already there.

There's something to be said for civil discourse and opinion but Druggy Rush and his right wing ilk are really giving mental illness a terrible rap.

You mean it's not Obama's fault the earthquake happened in the first place? Who knew?

At least, to the extent that it's not the Haitians' fault for their pact with the devil.

What's so pathetic about this is how predictable these right wing swine like "Rush, The Vulgar Pigboy" , as well as the phony right wing religious "men of God" are.

What would Jesus do, Rush?

Too bad they didn't outfit Rush with a (new?) heart during the holidays. He could use one. And as far as that idiot Robetson is concerned, what do you expect? It's Pat Robertson--enough said.

Hey Bruce,

If you really believe the media is liberal then you and your fellow right wing nutbags like Limbaugh need to quite crying in opposition every time the Fairness Doctrine is up for discussion, otherwise, shut your pieholes. You won't do it because you know that your little "Librul Media" canard is just another one of your right wing misdirection talking point lies.

With or without Rush, Obama and hard left are sinking. They would like to blame it on Rush, but it's Obama himself that is failing. The liberal publication National Journal released a poll today that asked whether Americans would vote for Obama's re-election based on his first-year performance. Well, 50 percent said they'd vote for "someone else," while only 23 percent said they would definitely vote for Obama. With his constant lying, childish whining, staggering arrogance, poisonous radicalism, dangerous narcissism and astounding incompetence, Obama is easily shaping up to the be the worst president in history.
Let's continue to stand strong against Obama in every way and get Congress out of the hands of the insane Pelosi and Reid in November. Obama is a con man. Nothing more.

bill r,
Paulo and Inky represent todays Republican base perfectly. They both couldn't read or write if their lives depended on it.

Hmmm, I must have missed the part where Rush suggested folks don't need to give. Seems to me what he said was the U.S. taxpayer already gave and will give more. That is true.
Anyway, Limbaugh gives more to charity than most rich liberals coulde ever dream of giving. Limbaugh runs charity drives on his show that generate millions of dollars in donations.

Here again, Silva is following through on the wishes of the White House that he serves.

Rush is a Moron with a capital M! How else can you explain a comment like that?

MORE CRAP FROM THE RIGHT WING NOISE MACHINE!

SHUT YOUR FAT FACE, RUSH!
.

It's that patented wing nut "blame the victim" mentality. Apparently the people of Haiti brought this natural disaster upon themselves by also being poor. Or something like that.

Rush is a soulless baffoon who has contempt for his own listeners.
Rush doesn't care about those people or these people or any people. It's all about him.

The decent caring folks are stepping up to the plate.

Bruce,
Donate $10 to your local Red Cross, it's really that simple you weasel.

That's right Party Gal Bruce,

Thousands of bodies on the streets of Port au Prince and you dweebishly salute the fringe on the Right while waving your finger at Haiti's history of corruption. That'll show them in a crisis.

Here's a finger for you.

Have a stogie with fatcat Rush (does he know it's from Monica Lewinsky's personal humidor?) Suck deep.

OK, I am not sure I get this piece here. Rush said 'we already donate to Haiti.... our income tax.'
Which is true, our Government sends money to the Haitian government that does not use it to better their citizens lives there, because that Government is corrupt.
But then you have (and use) Gibbs statement "I think to use the power of your pulpit to try to convince those not to help their brothers and sisters is sad."
OK if that was the case, Gibbs would be right... HOWEVER Rush never suggested that, or even said that. And never did he say 'don't give to the Haiti earthquake relief efforts' either.
Why does the liberal media try so hard to politicize this devastating disaster and turn words around by trying to SUGGEST someone said something they didn't say. It's utterly nonsense.

bruce:
(snip)

I don't believe this to be the time to launch an investigation into corruption in Haiti.
I didn't notice this cautious restraint when it came to invading Iraq or bailing out the banks.
The world is witnessing this horror inflicted upon a nation and as members of the human race, we need to step up.

Bush came to Iraq and destablised the region, America is pending Billions a month on Iraqi Unjust war, same republican party member Rush who is sufferring from hallucination in which God already punishing him and dying a slow death, not happy with all the money he has in this world, Rush recently has health problem while he was trailling Obama in Hawaii during Obama recent vacation. Rush has not yet realized that God has sent a curse on him; for Rush to open his fat dirty mouth and use Haiti disaster for his own amusement is a disgrace for him to claim that he is an American. What has Rush done for Human race; so we are not suprise; Rush your time is coming. God is just waiting for the right time to shame you. Repent before it is too late for you Rush. God bless America. I am proud to be an America and will defend and support my president on any decision he makes; Rush do you feel the same way?.

Lush Bimbo once said that all drug addicts should be executed.
I am still waiting for him to do the right thing.

Limbaugh lost his gig on ESPN because he couldn't see past Donovan McNabb's race and whatever problem's he has with Obama's "socialism" is overshadowed by his obsession with his race. If Republicans want to keep idolizing this racist moron, it won't matter how many Michael Steele's they dredge up – they'll never win over enough people to win national elections again.

Could this miscreant hang a bigger cigar out of his pie hole?
It looks like he is coughing up Mr. Hanky.
Then too, it may be a main unit compensation device.

Rush Limbaugh is a ranting drug addict/junkie. He represents the thoughts of the far right wing Teabaggers, he does not represent the thoughts of normal Americans. He is a bigot, pure and simple. He uses our freedom of speech to make himself feel important, like the majority of Americans really give a damn about him.

Limbaugh is a coward, pure and simple. No wonder he has to denigrate others to make himself feel important. And who is an easier target than those whose country has just been literally leveled?

What an overindulged, selfish psychopath is Rush Limbaugh. I would like to know how much of Rush's income goes to charity on an annual basis. I bet it is nothing or a very small amount. It would behoove the Republicans to distance themselves from this blow-hard.

Limbaugh is a nasty, vile, vicious, poor excuse for a human being. What kind of a low life would make light of such a tradegy. Anyone who still thinks that he is someone to listen to or even comment on should take a second look. He should be ignored and made to slink back to his dark nasty hole

Unfortunately Rush didn't say those words. The entire transcript of his show is on his website. What he DID say is that you don't have to go to whitehouse.gov to donate. Going to whitehouse.gov to donate adds your name to a list so the Democractic party can start begging you for money. If you want to donate to the Red Cross, go right to the Red Cross. That's what Rush said. Know, before you speak, otherwise you look amazingly ignorant.

Chairman LimbMao speaks.
The proles genuflect,

How typical that of all the groups out there (i.e.-Blacks, Asians, Latinos), only the diseased white minds of the GOP would consider a devastating tragedy the result of God's wrath and attempt to dissuade Americans from rising to the occasion with assistance.

What a selfish, America-loathing, uncaring a** who will certainly go to h**l over his actions and words. Limbaugh is an embarassment to this country, and one free speech that needs to be silenced by everyone realizing he is damaging.

He did not say that. He said it would be better to donate through private organizations. Donate through the govt and every dollar will be thirty cents. Go figure, the Trib puts a spin on it.

Maybe you should trying taking your own advice about knowing before you speak.

I went to whiteredhouse.gov and clicked on the link to the Red Cross. I was notified that I was leaving whitehouse.gov and redirected to the Red Cross site. There is no way for your name to be added to any kind of political list whatsoever.

You and the rest of the far right fanatical Luddites really need to stop letting that drug addicted buffoon lead you around like a bunch of mindless lemmings and try thinking for yourselves.

My, my, my. Look at all the reactionary, uninformed hatred being spewed by the liberal crowd. What a spectacle. I challenge any of you to actually listen to the posted clip and point out what is so offensive.

Rush is a powerful man indeed. He gets the left off it's game like it's nobody's business. You all can't help but react to any little thing he says. That's power. Good for him.

It sounds to me as if Rush is simply saying donate directly to the charity you wan t to. You don't need direction from the White House first, and you need not supply them with your e-mail address for future fund-raising purposes.

And to those of you with the nasty and vile comments, how many times have you been told you can't believe everything you read?

I wonder what the reaction would have been if Pat Robinson had said "Haiti's chickens have come home to roost".

Rush said: Don't Help The President.

Limbaugh didn't say anything about donating in other ways until after he got called out on his crap.

I'm amazed at the way Republicans will take even the worst tragedies imaginable and try to use them to score partisan political points against Pres Obama and the Dems.

I will never again vote for another Republican for as long as I live and neither will anyone in my family.

Finally Rush says something we all agree on! Why don't all you treehuggers move to Haiti if you care about it so much.

I read through the comments and realize that free and open debate in the U.S. is clearly a thing of the past. Everyone seems to have made up their mind first and then filtered what they read through that preformed decision.

I acknowledge being generally on the "left" of the spectrum -- to the extent the left-right spectrum even means anything these days. After all -- I'm Canadian.

But honestly, what Rush said -- other than the "we already gave its called US Income Tax" comment -- really wasn't all that offensive.

It was a little paranoid. ("Go to the white house site and they'll get you on their list.") Maybe a little racist. (Why go immediately to Africa -- which (1) is irrelevant and (2) is too big and too differentiated amongst its regions to be used as a generalized example -- after commenting on Haiti?)

But, at base, all he said was if you donate go to the Red Cross or your local church and don't go through the government.

For truly offensive comments, one need only look to that OTHER bastion of the right, Pat Robertson.

But, to go to the original point: LISTEN to what he said; reflect on his ACTUAL words; and THEN comment on it.

I listened to Rush say not to contribute any relief monies TO OBAMA' WHITE HOUSE website as there was no way to ensure it wasn't siphoned off for yet another slush fund of Obama's.

We're pretty sure Rush has made or will make (likely anoynomusly) (sp?) thru an ACTUAL LEGITIMATE organization.

Challenge to Mark Silva: Please show/state where Rush Limbaugh suggested not to give. If not, then this Swamp item is a purely fabricated lie.
So, in Joe Wilson's honor: You LIE!

I think Rush has been misunderstood recently. He experienced addiction first hand and I know for a fact he underwent a kind of conversion or something. Like now I guess he's a big fan of Kurt Cobain music. Right, HUGE fan. Not just a regular fan but a big one, a HUGE one. He's not so fat anymore either; remember that. And now a HUGE fan of Kurt Cobain. Wow, amazing. He's not so bad anymore. He probably likes Haitians too.

One really simple fact, a city of about 2 million people has been flattened. They need help. We are in a position to give it, so we and the rest of the world will do so. To make political hay out of the misfortunes of the Haitian people is nauseating.
Try thinking of the human crisis here, rather than advancing your political agenda.

Did anyone actually read the transcript of what Rush said? If so, perhaps you should debate this quote in context. Or would that be less "news"-worthy?

Did you guy listen to the clip, or just read the headline. It amazes me how most liberals opinions are right off the front page of the left wing news. Mind control.

If you go to whitehouse.gov, you will find LINKS to charities; there is in fact no mechanism to "send money to the Obama administration and be put on a campaign donation spam list," to paraphrase Limbaugh. So at best, the guy does NO due diligence before prattling on irresponsibly, and at worst is preventing credulous people from donating to a desperate cause. The administration is centralizing its donation information on its website so you can donate to vetted organizations, instead of being taken in by the scams that are out there! Text HAITI to 90999 to donate $10 to the american red cross (http://www.redcross.org)--or are THEY an instrument of the left wing socialist media too?

So, in Joe Wilson's honor: You LIE!

Posted by: John D | January 15, 2010 1:48 AM

and in Limbags honor! isn't that an oxymoron?

Most human beings have a knee-jerk reaction to be compassionate and help others when they are in desparate need. That is one of the few Christian, samaritan values many have left. I'm totally dumbfounded that a Christian minister would try to squelch our basic humanity by blaming the victims.

I think it's Robertson who has made a pact with the devil and Rush is nothing but the devil's lap dog. That's why they are so obsessed with vile hatred.

Limbaugh's comments are truly sad. I actually feel a little sorry for him. To be so callous is beyond politics and speaks to his soul; if he has one. Makes me wonder who is truly the devil worshiper.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I heard every bit of what this soulless buffoon had to say.
There is no need for interpretation or second-guessing or debating what he may have meant and so forth.
Rush instructed his sheeple not to help. End of story.
The swamp is really going down hill. Surprising, since swamps are supposed to in the low lying areas so it shouldn't be physically possible.
Rush, correctly, points out Haiti is in a situation of its own making (with regards to corruption and poverty). Mathews and Olbermann both reviewed Haiti's painful and frustrating history of corruption on their shows, so they're on the same page as Rush on that point.
Clau is right, whitehouse.gov does just link to the red cross site. Did Rush know that for sure? No. For all he knew, the white house had some separate donation system set up with higher overhead. Best case scenario, the white house.gov site just links directly to redcross.org, which it does, in which case, people have just WASTED THEIR TIME by being forwarded through whitehouse.gov when their final destination was redcross.org. So Rush was off the mark but gave good advice on that point as well.
Don't get me wrong, Limbaugh is colossaly wrong on many things, global warming, health care, the economy. But this blog post is just sad and feels like it was written by robert Gibbs. No insight, nothing interesting, just another undistinguished copy paste job. Yawn.
I'm headed back to DailyKOS, where people actually have a clue about being original.
it is sad that this man has the audience he does. I recall him mocking and belittling Micheal J Fox for his Parkinsons disease suggesting he was playing it up. This is just a mean, pathetic excuse for a human being, Rush, is a cancer to the right wingnuts
Whatever " Fat Mouth " said it was, as usual and ad nauseum, stupid and stupider !! You, Republican-Libertarians, would do better to find yourselves another pig to find your truffles, 'cause he certainly don't have the nose for the job ! Jettison him as soon as you can, although I think it is too late for the 2012 elections. Your Party will still lose !! Why ? The reason is simple, you whiners and moaners have lost your way. You are no longer members of the once great and proud Republican Party. Now, you are just a gang of sheeple, following goons, haters and liars, taking Corporate money and behaving very undemocratic !!
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, BRING THEM HOME, ALIVE AND WHOLE. NOW.
Gee, I wonder if we'll see something from Mark Silva about Danny Glover's stupid words:
“When we see what we did at the climate summit in Copenhagen, this is the response, this is what happens, you know what I’m sayin’?”
My guess is no. When it comes to balance, fairness and journalistic objectivity, well, they are three elements often missing.
And, yes, Danny, because there is no global warming pact, earthquakes ensue!!
History and "context" has nothing to do with this situation. These folks are in obvious need. Keep in mind that there are people of many nations who were in Haiti that are in need as well. I can't fathom how anyone could even allude to not helping victims of an "act of God".
Contribute today. How would you like to spend eternity shoveling coal with Robertson on your left and Limbaugh on your right. If that isn't hell, I don't know what is.
Kenneth, the only coal shoveling going on is thanks to Obama. Mountain top, love it or hate it, (I hate it), at least uses efficient earth moving equipment. No coal shoveling going on there.
Sessions and McCain are the ones who called for nuclear power, which actually has a prayer of replacing coal fired plants. It's Bush and the Republicans that passed nuclear 2010 on a pretty much party line vote, thats only reason we are even considering some new nuclear power plants. Meanwhile Obama gets into office with vacuous rhetoric about "safe nuclear" as if it were not already safe, shuts down Yucca and ends the abortive re-processing review, then throws some billions into renewable sources which in reality do nothing more than give the fossil fuel interests cover to make it seem like something has been done (besides waste money) while they continue business as usual.
I'm betting the irony in your comment was intentional however, in which case, nice dig on Obama and the Democrats. :-)
"He is a small-minded, mean-spirited, phony American.." - Don Fitzgerald
Who's the small-minded, mean-spirited, phony American, Don? I say YOU! When you point your finger at others there are 4 other fingers pointing right back at you, pal. Go get some self-awareness and try again in about 10 years.
This is exactly the problem with allowing the public to weigh in on topics of interest. Come on people. If you're going to make public comments at least do a little homework first. Let me first say that I am NOT a Limbaugh fan. Nor am I an Obama supporter. I consider myself to be a liberal Republican and a conservative Democrat, depending on the issue. I believe that makes me a "Centrist", meaning I choose to look at an issue then decide my stance. I do my homework by looking at the true facts such as actual numbers, statistics, percentages, etc. It's not rocket science. Numbers, statistics, percentages don't "lie" unless they are presented with an intent to deceive or mislead public opinion. in favor of one direction over another. Look at the TRUE numbers from the TRUE facts and figures such as Bruce obviously took the time to gather before spewing ignorance seen all over this blog. FACT: The amount of money that we as taxpayers have contributed to Haiti (and others) have made no impact. How long to we keep feeding the corruption. Sure, we are a generous nation. But we are now in crisis mode in our own country. And if we don't stand up and say no more, we are going to "humanitarian" ourselves right into our own 3rd world status.If we don't take care of our own how are we going to keep taking care of the rest of the world. Instead of throwing more good money after bad we should be insisting the corrupt governments of these places cough up the money we've already given them, else they won't have a country left to destroy. They will be out and someone else will be ruling them.
FACT: Limbaugh's words were immediately misconstrued and used to deliberately mislead the public. If not for political posturing, then why? So it is exactly what the bleeding hearts wanted to create. An image of a political power that is all heart and one that is heartless. The spinners no more care about the Haitian people than anybody else. They saw an opportunity to fabricate a means to hopefully raise the approval of an administration that is so dismal they are crashing and burning faster than anyone can believe.
FACT: Limbaugh was making a point that has been so far lost in all the republican/democratic bashing that this has become about everything except what he was trying to point out. He brings this on himself by the way he presents things and loses all his credibility because of it. But that doesn't change the FACTS. This isn't even about the Haitian people anymore. And that, my friends makes us no better than the pitiful reality shows that are so completely not real.
I'm just saying that all side should stick to the original point of his statement, weigh the facts and leave personal emotions out of it.
rush is correct. 85 percent of donations we sent for the 911 victims the red cross took for administrative fees. Our tax dollars that barack is sending is my donation,.
there fore i gave my friend the money instead cause she needs it also. therefore if you know someone in the usa close to you give them your donation.
"One really simple fact, a city of about 2 million people has been flattened. They need help. We are in a position to give it"
to Pavel. NO, NO, NO. We are NOT any longer in a position to give, give, give only to keep feeding a corrupt government who has been given more than enough to have rebuilt their nation 10 times over.
Please quiet your bleeding heart long enough to think this over. We are not helping the poor Haitians by continuing to hand over more hard-earned taxpayer dollars to corrupt officials.
Rush is correct. 85 percent of the money we donated for 911 victims went to administrative fees to the red cross therefore the victims got nothing
I gave my donation to a friend who needed the money so if any has a friend in dire straights give the money to one of them instead.
Very true. The immediate, far right are only concerned that the life of their conservative party may hang in the balance between this tragedy and the Palin family.
Whatever " Fat Mouth " said, it was, as usual and ad nauseum, stupid and stupider !! You, Republican-Libertarians, would do better to find yourselves another pig to find your truffles, 'cause he certainly don't have the nose for the job ! He is a small-minded, mean-spirited, phony American, in other words, a very accurate representative of many of the Republican-Libertarian Party. Jettison him as soon as you can, although I think it is too late for the 2012 elections. Your Party will still lose !! Why ? The reason is simple, you whiners and moaners have lost your way. You are no longer members of the once great and proud Republican Party. Now, you are just a gang of sheeple, following goons, haters and liars, taking Corporate money and behaving very undemocratic !!
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, BRING THEM HOME, ALIVE AND WHOLE. NOW.
You guys are funny.
You can't recognize satire/sarcasm when you hear it?
You really think Rush is against helping Haitians?
To John D. at 10:53 a.m.,
I think what Glover was referring to is the FACT that global climate change is also leading to plate tetonic shifting. In other words, as the glaciers melt, the weight of the melt water is displaced into new areas, with more sea water sitting atop of these plates. That wieght is causing more frequent and serious earthquakes.
Maybe you should learn a little something about what people are saying before you imply they are stupid. You would look less stupid.
Rush is a pig and Robertson is an idiot. May they both burn in Hell.... Oh yes. Take Bush, Lahee and the other "Christian Leaders" with you.
Wow! Amazing hatred in these comments! And shocking to see Americans tear eachother apart! Not much hope for the USA...................
Maybe W. has finally found the single reason he was born...to be Limbaugh's one and only friend.
Rush is right! Mangoes, coffee, and foreign aid...this is the economic system of Haiti...it is not going to change! The U.S.A. and other nations have pumped economic aid into Haiti to the tune of billions of dollars, results: overpopulation, wide spread poverty, government corruption, lack of any type of infrastructure and the list can go on! Haiti, bless its people, but enough is enough!
For every 100 million dollars spent on Haitian relief, American taxpayer's must pay over $1,000 dollars in federal taxes...enough!
I feel really sorry for the people who have suffered the earthquake and that have dead relatives from Haiti and that I should do something to help Hait but I have by giving money to the red cross foundation does anyone else feel that?
I wonder what would happen if you set Rush and Robertson free amid these helpless, suffering Haitians. I would love to see it!!!
