John McCain maintains that marriage is between a man and woman.
Wife Cindy McCain and daughter Meghan McCain are campaigning for the gay marriage amendment in California.
"We have spirited discussions about various issues in our family, and I respect the views of members of my family,'' the Republican senator from Arizona said in an appearance on the FOX Business Network today. "I have always believed that the sanctity of marriage is between one man and one woman."
McCain also suggests in that interview with FOX's Don Imus, in the aftermath of his party's recapture of filibuster power in the Senate, that talk of bipartisan work on health-care is just talk: "This White House has not done anything of any possible significance with the Republican Party,'' says McCain, campaigning for reelection back-home with tough words for the White House and President Barack Obama's "extreme-left'' agenda.
"This country has never been in worse shape in my lifetime,'' McCain told FOX.
In California, McCain's wife and daughter have posed for photographs endorsing the gay marriage movement . Cindy McCain appears with silver duct tape across her mouth and "NOH8" written on one cheek in a photo posted Wednesday on the Website of NOH8, a gay rights group opposing Proposition 8. The ballot measure, passed by California voters in 2008, bans same-sex marriage.
Daughter Meghan, outspoken in her support for gay rights, appears with silver duct tape across her mouth and "NOH8" on a cheek in a photo on her own Twitter site.
"I couldn't be more proud of my mother for posing for the NOH8 campaign,'' Meghan McCain says. "I think more Republicans need to start taking a stand for equality."

BTW - John McCain was not a solider, he was a Navy pilot. Soliders are in the Army.

You are correct Terri,
McCain was a Navy pilot who was shot down by the North Vietnamese, captured, and sang like a canary to his captors. His disability income should be revoked and he should be made to repay the citizens of the U.S. every single penny of it.
