Sarah Palin has contributed to civic service in Wasilla, Alaska, the ex-mayor has contributed service to the state of Alaska, and now the ex-governor will be contributing something to the nation's No. 1-rated cable news network, FOX.
Howard Kurtz, the Washington Post media critic with reliable sources, first reported word from a FOX executive today on Palin's hiring.
Bill Shine, executive vice president of programming for FOX, has announced the news with a note that "Gov. Palin has captivated everyone on both sides of the political spectrum and we are excited to add her dynamic voice to the FOX News lineup."
In addition to commentary across the news network's programming, Palin will host periodic episodes of FNC's "Real American Stories," a series exploring inspirational real-life tales of overcoming adversity throughout the American landscape starting this year.
"I am thrilled to be joining the great talent and management team at FOX News,'' Palin said in a statement released by the network. "It's wonderful to be part of a place that so values fair and balanced news."
That will put two erstwhile 2008 candidates for national office on the FOX lineup. Mike Huckabee, the former governor of Arkansas who sought the GOP nomination for president, has his own weekly show.
Huckabee and Palin both are viewed as potential candidates for 2012.
FOX, Kurtz notes, will provide Palin with a farther-reaching forum than her Facebook page, which has gathered some one-million followers in the aftermath of her resignation as governor. Palin, who studied journalism in her youth, had wanted to be a television sportscaster, but was dismayed that ESPN was based in Bristol, Conn. So instead she named her first daughter Bristol
Palin's recruitnment for Sen. John McCain's presidential ticket in 2008 was part of "God's plan,'' Palin reportedly said at the time -- this tidbit from that new book, Game Change, reporting on intel from Steve Schmidt, McCain's former campaign manager.
Her new TV career, it appears, is part of Rupert Murdoch's plan.

Well this is great....next election, instead of polls, we'll just check the nielsen ratings. This will give her a larger audience to lie to with things like "death panels". We certainly need more divisive TV.

Fox hires Republicans as well as Democrats.
Perhaps the DNC Swamp should follow suit.

Palin was quoted as saying: "only dead fish go with the flow. also" before abruptly leaving her own news conference.

One more reason to avoid Fox Snooze.

Wow--this is just too good to be true! A new comedy that will challenge SNL, Stewart and Colbert. Especially if they team her up with Crazy Glenn. Can't wait to watch.

So when is the Orly Taitz Show going to start on Faux?
Wednesday would be a good day for an all-birther/deather Faux line up, giving the comedy line up on ABC an run for its money - "All Birther/Deather, All The Time", Wednesday (just like every other night) is Comedy Night on FOX News!

Faux has a place for ALL types of right-wing nut bags. From Howard Wolfson, to Lannie Davis, to Karl Rove, to Glenn Beck and now Sarah Palin. The network just got dumber (as if that was even possible).
Fixed News offers Palin a forum by which to spread her crazy lies without fear of repercussions.
Bye, bye Facebook. Hello "I-now-get-to-read-my-Facebook-crap-on-TV-where-it-will-reach-a-much-bigger-audience."
Palin will be good for ratings and that's all that matters to Faux. They love her on the far right wing fringe, she's a "real 'Murkin" and that's all that matters, don't ya know?

I predict a highly edited, pre taped show. "Sarah Live!"....is not safe for anyone.
It will be all pageant walkin, lip licking, right wing Taliban faith based truthiness without any challenge from reality based fact or opinion, all the time.

Palin suddenly and abruptly quits as governor of Alaska and offers no explanation to her supporters. I guess the going got tough for her and the first dude. Talk about running away from your responsibilities. She was all over the board on Hannity a few nights ago.
Go ahead GOP, put her and Huckleberry and/ or Mittens Romney on the ballot in 2012.

I'm sure she'll be better than Huckabee and his cornpone
show. Sarah will make a lot more money as an icon and celebrity than a politician. It will be interesting to see how objective she is concerning social issues. Could make her more popular with independent voters and she could benefit from the experience.

I can't hear the words "fair and balanced" anymore without peeing just a little.
Faux hasn't ever done real news, so I guess they'll keep making it up as they go along. I just feel a little sorry for the losers that haven't figured out that it's an entertainment channel and not anything based on fact, news, or science.

If Sarah Palin was serious about making a difference in this country's political forum, then she would take her message to a more centrist news channel. Mrs. Palin will soon discover that going to Fox News will do little to add to her stable of supporters in the conservative wing of the Republican party. Therefore, I find this move strange at best, foolish at least. You don't win elections by speaking to one side (with little more than flag-waving "real American" rhetoric in your holster) of the political forum. This may prove to be nothing more than a short term post to hone her chops.

ON A MORE SERIOUS NOTE:

http://www.americanthinker.com/2010/01/harry_reid_liberalism_race.html
Harry Reid is developing a well-deserved reputation for playing the race card. Last month he accused opponents of his secret healthcare bill of being the same as those who opposed ending slavery. It was a highly objectionable historical analogy based on extremely flawed logic. Those who are fighting to stop ObamaCare are upholding the ideal of freedom -- from government intrusion, confiscatory taxation and oppressive debt.
Liberals wear their racial obsession as a badge of moral superiority. We are seeing the prideful dark side to their championing racial justice. It is noblesse oblige, the arrogant belief that minorities owe them so much -- their very lives and livelihoods -- that liberals are entitled to have their stereotypes and prejudices overlooked. The beneficence they have bestowed upon the seething masses of dark skinned people places liberal racial morality beyond question. Dark skin does not matter to Reid or his colleagues of course, but they are sufficiently enlightened to observe that it matters to the less sophisticated. Conservatives, "tea baggers" and those rural white folks who cling to their guns and Bibles are the ones we need to be concerned about, not the self-benighted liberal intelligentsia.
The truth is that Harry Reid and his liberal cohorts are the very definition of racists. They do not see "minorities" as individuals, but as part of a faceless group of victims. Joe Biden and Harry Reid give us a clear picture of how liberals view black Americans: none too bright, not very clean, have very dark skin and speak Ebonics or jive, except for Obama and a few others. That is called racial stereotyping. Liberals deny they do this, but out of the abundance of their hearts, their mouths speak.
Conservatives on the other hand see people as individuals, not unwashed and victimized masses. They do not look upon black Americans as a group to be rescued, but as individuals to be respected -- or not -- based on character and ability. This view of life makes them far less susceptible to the racial obsession which drives liberals to politically correct madness. When Trent Lott made his infamous Strom Thurmond remark, most Republicans -- including then-President Bush -- refused to stand by him, Although in my view they overreacted, they were unwilling to rationalize or justify racist speech and behavior. They do not suffer from the delusion of liberals who see themselves as the privileged paragons of racial sensitivity.

This is great news for both Fox news and Governor Palin. Fox gains a true political star who will boost their ratings even more over the "lamestreet" media and Governor Palin will get a larger forum. It amazing how effectively she has been communicating from Facebook with a million followers but now she will have 90 million viewers. She will clearly be our next POTUS. I find it more than amusing to see all the wingnuts claiming that Democrats (read: anyone who doesn't subscribe to the ultra-conservative fringer point of view, you get the picture) are 'scared' of Sarah Palin or FOX News or whatever blather is coming out of their mouthes.
Newsflash, chickenhawks: FOX News is not a 'news' channel at all. Well, maybe there's news from roughly 10am to about 2pm, slanted waaay right obviously, but the rest of it is 'opinionator' central. That is not news. IF there was a shred of intelligence in anything that is broadcast between 4pm and 10pm....I haven't seen it.
And why is it that the fringers can't seem to spell correctly or use proper grammar? There denotes a lack of intelligence there as well - but then again, when you're turning your brains to mush that's about all we can expect from this bunch of yahoos.
Scared? Absolutely not. Amused by the wiseass cracks and the schoolyard bullying? Absolutely.
You're just pissed because there's a non-white president in the White House, and YOU CAN'T HANDLE IT!
That's what it all boils down to: every single one of these responses from the wingnut fringe are 100% racist.
And really...if you want to talk ratings, well dumbshits will watch anything right? The FOX 'news' viewership are the ones who sit and watch "American Idol" and think it's not fixed.
I wouldn't worry about 2010 or 2012. Republicans (who don't consider themselves 'fringers' , who by definition alone are not considered -true- republicans, btw) and independent voters will not vote for this propaganda garbage. Republicans with brains do not believe that Saddam Hussein was behind 9/11. And you know whose mouth that came out of?
That's right. Your prophet, Sarah Palin. Let's see how long it takes for her to quit THIS job too.
You are all a bunch of sheep. I don't think you could create one original idea or statement between 1000 of you.
Posted by: RealityCheck | January 11, 2010 10:30 PM
@ BobbieMobbie: Posting large paragraphs of 'journalism' from AmericanThinker, WorldNetDaily, or whatever, is not journalism: it's propaganda. Propaganda...which is pretty much the centerpiece of everything on FoxNews. FoxNews....the fair and balanced Anti-Obama Network. Unfortunately, this will galvanize the crazy ward (read: typical FoxNews sheep) and, ultimately, keep the Republicans out of the white house in 2012.
And if you're really thinking you're going to take back Congress you better think up something different than the puke being spewed. Hatred, racism, more breaks for the rich -- all tried and true conservative basic rules -- won't work anymore. I don't think there's going to be this big upheaval, and you think there will be, only an overthrow of the government is going to get that done. And we all know that's in the back of your beer-swillin', gun totin' minds right now. Then you wonder why other countries in the world still laugh at us. You want control? Move to Iran. Move to North Korea. Move to Russia. Or, pick any random Middle Eastern country like Saudi Arabia. Bet you couldn't get away with doing that now, could you? And since the Republicans are so in love with oil-producing nations....Saudi Arabia might just fit. Why even the King and your prophet GWB were seen holding hands. Just a fluke. We know.
Come up with any ideas for the recession started in Bush's administration yet? Didn't think so.
Still believe that no terrorist attacks occurred on Bush's watch? (Hello Guliani) No shoe bomber? No immediate response from Bush? No, he was on one of his many vacations in Crawford at the time and didn't want to deal with it until he came back from his two weeks Christmas vacation. Sorry...this stuff just writes itself. Too too funny.

What the Hell Sarah? "It's wonderful to be part of a place that so values fair and balanced news" WOW, Sarah! I will still get my news from CNN and my entertainment from FOX! Nothing is fair and balanced when Murdoch gets his mitts on them! Remember the Republicans never do anything for this nation, they only do things to this nation! whiteagle38

Go get 'em Sarah!!!
Smart move FOX.
(Uh, too bad for you libs and Democrats.)

Sara was righter than she knew:
It was part of God's plan---the plan to elect Obama.
The Lord works in mysterious ways, His wonders to perform.

I'll bet Sarah is getting paid alot for this!
But just remember that "money can't fix stupid!"

"She will clearly be our next POTUS. Obama will not make it through the primaries"
Granitepaw, there are two things wrong with this statement, I'll start with the first and most obvious of the two. 1. There won't be a primary for dems if Obama runs for re-election, way to know how the system works. 2. Palin will not be the next president, even if she manages to win the repuplican primary. I'm honestly surprised this didn't happen sooner, but now I have more reasons not to watch FOX

Palin's a nutcase. Cost McCain the election. Getting her on FOX is a liberal plot to get us to lose the next election if not the mid terms. Between Obama and Plelosi and nut cases like Palin and Rush this country has just entered the twilight zone. Hello are there any sane people left?
Posted by: Old Repulican | January 12, 2010 1:59 AM
This might be a good place for her considering the media already pretty much had their way with her political career.
Remember the "haha she said Africa was a country," and then after the election the "oh oops no she didn't, we shouldn't have reported that?"

The funny thing is that most people missed the real message to this anouncement, it seems likely she will not run in 2012.

She is perfect for "Fake News", enough said.
Posted by: Preston | January 12, 2010 12:25 PM
Is she getting paid a salary or just paid in clothes?
Posted by: Rich | January 12, 2010 12:41 PM
Janet -- Were you similarly sanctimonious about Michelle Obama leaving her girls for days on end, day after day after day to campaign for Barack? How about when she takes trips with him? That's OK, no doubt, with you.
DO you have children? Do you work? If you do and you don't (work) are your children perfect?
Posted by: beth | January 11, 2010 7:45 PM
;
The Obama children are not mentally retarded and therefore not special needs. They are self aware and can tie their shoe laces. Once again I hope the Swamp does not censor this because it is a statement of fact and not a vicious attack.

I will say that it is probably a smart move and fits Sarah well. This platform will allow her to give a one sided view and no follow up questioning which is her Achilles Heel. She should do alright as long as there are no questions for her to answer and also.

I love it how they put "Fair & Balanced" in all those comments. Just because they say that phrase doesn't make it true. Now is GOP conservative viewpoints from the extreme Right. It's not a "News" channel, it's the GOP propaganda network.
Posted by: Andrew | January 12, 2010 2:54 PM
Sarah Palin has gotten such a bad rep. She's not the GOPs answer for the 2012 presidential race, at least not by my assessment. But she's no dummy. During the campaign I'll concede she lacked in some of the facts, but never have I concluded that she has an inability to comprehend the facts and digest them intelligently once she does.

There is a lot of sad people in the heart land who believe this spells the end to the political carreer of their beloved Sarah. Liberals underestimate the love people outside of L.A. and New York have for this woman.

And you overestimate the number of electoral votes in all of trailerparklandia combined.
This atheist liberal prays to Almighty God that Sarah is the Republican nominee for every POTUS election for the rest of her long life.

@a blinkin: I'm right there with ya, Buddy!
Sarah for POTUS - great way to derail the teabaggers and do-nothing ReTUGlicans.

Palin on Fox News? It's God's plan.

Maybe Fox News will develop more integrity. See the article "Will Sarah Palin Fix Fox News Appeasement?"

Fox is out there on thin ice between politics and comedy, testing the illusions between humor and dishonesty again. Someone is banking on Rupert not dieing anytime soon and that Republican / Fox TV will go on forever.
Its truth that comedians will not run out of material with the dingbat commenting regularly. Sarah 'reefermadness' Palin will bringing a lot of attention to herself and it will only become apparent to everyone, if not already, that this gal does not have the intellect to even do well as a TV talking head.
I'll be checking the odds til she quits this gig, too.
Posted by: Sally | January 12, 2010 8:37 PM
The Palin effect and journalistic abilities are a brew waiting to explode and probably provide enough fodder for late night comedy!
Posted by: Jude | January 12, 2010 8:48 PM
And late today we find out she's keynoting the Wine and Liquor Wholesalers convention in Las Vegas. She's like heroin for joke writers. Youbetcha.
Posted by: FiniteTimes | January 12, 2010 11:17 PM
Its unbelieveable that the right winger and any one in politics believes that Sarah Palin knows anything about politics she has used a mistake by McCain to propel her career and if you listen to Faux News you dont want the truth and you talking about feeling safe in this country the people I am afraid of are the people who get up everyday in this country and put on their nice suites and spread their hate, division, lies, they are no better than the people in the middle east who are trying to destroy this country its amazing that news channels like Fox exist and its more amzing that people tune in to watch

Do YOU
1> despise Palin
2... don't KNOW Palin?
I suggest you READ her articles--(usually reprinted on her FAcebook) and that you VIEW Fox regularly to GATHER MORE DATA ABOUT PALIN!
(Also...read through her Alaska website---and article attached to that.)
This will give you both her ideas (unedited by usually hostile media) and much more info...
Do the same for Mike Huckabee...as he may well be a 2012 Presidential candidate also!!!
THINK AND RESEARCH for yourself...if your main views of Palin came from Couric, Gibson, You Tube...you don't have enough unbiased info to make a RATIONAL decision.
Posted by: thinkingabovemypaygrade | January 13, 2010 11:09 AM
This is great, Fox knows how to drive leftwingers crazy, and Palin drives them over the edge (WHY?). She is as ready for the job of POTUS as Obama was and maybe even more ready to run a republic than the apologist Obama is.

1. I go to the supermarket delli and ask for three quarters of a pound of sliced ham. The twenty-something delli clerk gets a look of panic on his face, slices a little ham, and asked "Is this about right?" 3oz of ham on the scale.
2, Same store. The sink behind the 25 year old "butcher" girl has been going at a fast drip for the FIVE MONTHS I have been trading there. I know it can't be, but I ask anyway:"Is that hot water that is running from the sink?" "Ya, nobody ever comes to fix it."
3, I go to the eye glass dept at WalMart. The twenty something they hired to receive people and take their info asked my address. We lived on"Withington Peak Dr." I never expect them to know how to spell the first word in our street, but PEAK? Sure enough, as I watch her computer screen P-I-CK, P-I-K-E, P-A-C-K. Now with unemployment at 10%, one must figure that anybody who has a job is the best, not the bottom of the labor pool. So these YOUNG persons are the rule, not the exception.
These are the same deep thinkers that gave us this pathetic excuse for a human being, that is taking our country out of existence.
So much for our youth and future. We have too much youth, and no longer any future.

Lars - You should see a doctor about your little incontinence problem. They have medications for that.
Kneejerk - If you're going to call someone stupid you should at least spell your comment correctly. No one is two words.
