Sarah Palin complained that it wasn't very funny when the girl whom "Chris'' was dating on The Family Guy, a character with Down syndrome, said her mother is the governor of Alaska.
The woman who played that character on the FOX cartoonish program last Sunday, who actually has Down syndrome, suggests that Palin, the former governor of Alaska, needs to "lighten up.''
No word from The Family Girl on Rahm Emanuel.

Comments
If Palin would quit using her special needs kid as a prop maybe someone would take her seriously. She lost all credibility on this issue when she laughed off Limbaugh's hateful comments as "satire".

There's a book out right now that talks a little bit about the McCain campaign and it said that McCain's staffers thought Palin had a mental illness for a while, like bipolar disorder. On the other hand, that'd be fine with me for a leader to have that, so long as they actually knew things about the government and the world, which Palin does not.

The following is the transcript of the entire song that was sung on the Family Guy episode in question. Is this funny?
“You’ve got to look your best tonight, you tubby little parasite
‘Cause there’s a lovely lady and she’s waiting for you.
And though her pretty face may seem
A special person’s wettest dream
Before you get to see it there are things you must do.
We’ll try a tie, and boutonniere of yellow.
A rose that shows that you’re a classy fellow.
With a posh panache of Jefferson at Monticello,
Busting out a mile with style.
I know you just can’t wait to stare
At all that luscious orange hair
But boy before you touch a single curl
You must impress that ultra boomin’,
All-consumin’, poorly groomin’
Down syndrome girl.
On any normal day you reek
As if you’re on a farting streak,
Your fingers up your nose and you are dripping with drool.
But if you want a lady’s love,
You’re better off by smelling of
A gentleman’s cologne instead of sneakers and stool.
A squirt, a spurt of something just for Ellen
And you’ll see that she will find you so compellin’.
And she does because the only smell that she’ll be smellin’
Won’t be comin’ from your bum.
You want to take that little whore
And spin her on the dancing floor
But boy, before you do a single twirl –
You must impress that effervescing,
Self-possessing, no-BS-ing
Down syndrome girl.
Her eyes are emerald portals to a secret land of love
And her smile is like the sweetest summer flower.
Her kiss is so inviting, and her hugs are so delighting.
And what makes them really nice is that they’ve got a little spice
Because they’re tighter than a vice and they go on for an hour.
My boy, between the two of us we’ll get you on that shorty bus.
And then you’re going to take it for a whirl.
Now go impress that super-thrilling,
Wish-fulfilling, Yoo-Hoo-spilling,
Ultra-swinging, boner-bringing,
Daily singing, ding-a-linging
Stupefying, fortifying,
As-of-Monday-shoelace-tying,
Stimulating, titillating,
Kitty-cat impersonating,
Mega-rocking, pillow talking,
Just a little crooked walking,
Poorly pouting, boobies sprouting,
For some reason always shouting,
Fascinating, captivating,
Happiness and joy creating
Down syndrome girl"

Actually, she lost all credibility when she resigned as governor of Alaska halfway through her first term, and then gave a rambling, incoherent speech that failed to rationally explain or justify her resignation. Not only did it destroy her credibility, it shook the confidence of many in her ability to lead or function as an elected official.

Anyone watching ‘Family Guy’ should know to be prepared for offensive material — they even include some in their commercials. But I guess in Sarah’s Bubble, animated shows are ‘comedy’ while flesh and blood clowns like Limbaugh are ’satirists’.
Every individual has a single line drawn where it best reflects their own values (and sensitivities). Only hypocrites draw multiple lines and adjust their ’sensibilities’ according to their audience.
Sarah Palin’s child has, through no fault of his own, been dealt a bad hand and should never be the source of ridicule as a result. His mother, on the other hand, blows with the political wind in the room even on a subject so delicate and personal as her own child’s disability.
The woman is a stone cold idiot...

Do Sarah and Bristol think Family Guy is a documentary on family life in Quohog, Rhode Island or something?
This is a pathetic move by Palin, drawing her kid into a political discussion. Palin is such a jerk. This is a juvenile discussion, imagine, debating a CARTOON!
Palin getting herself into this mess is just another indicator that she has some kind of serious personality disorder.

Yeah, except for the fact that that song was never sung on the Family Guy episode in question.
Hey Wingnuts, if you're ("Harold") going to be fake outraged about something at least take the time to get your facts straight beforehand. The real world isn't like Faux News.

Yeah, the Limbaugh thing tipped it over the edge. $arah isn't the DECIDER...come down on everybody OR come down on nobody.
I saw her complaining on O'Reilly, she said, HEE HAW HEE HAW...

"While some took this to mean she was criticizing Limbaugh, Palin later clarified that she was not, and explicitly defended Limbaugh's public -- and repeated -- use of the word "retards" in a similarly crude context, while appearing on Fox News Sunday". "They are kooks, so I agree with Rush Limbaugh," Palin said, claiming Limbaugh was merely "using satire."

Best part of her email to the NYT: "My parents raised me to have a sense of humor and to live a normal life. My mother did not carry me around under her arm like a loaf of French bread the way former Governor Palin carries her son Trig around looking for sympathy and votes."

Don't understand why Palin's getting so upset, he's not even her own kid.
Posted by: levi | February 19, 2010 6:06 PM
Harold,
You see, the Dark Side people---Beck, Limpballs, etc.---"opened the door", to use the old time trial lawyers' expression.
They started with the canards, the code expression, even outright accusations of people as "racist".
As you must recall. Sonia Sotomayor was called a racist. Barack was. And on and on.
So when something harsh comes back in their direction, they shouldn't be too surprised. Or "shocked".
Tho' Family Guy type humor is definitely not family hour entertainment.....

Gary,
Fact: The song was sung 20 minutes into the episode.

First, they weren't ridiculing kids with down's syndrome. Palin's the one using the disabled to stay in the news.
My daughter was ridiculed for being half Jewish. Her friend was ridiculed for being gay. But I couldn't do anything about it because I'm not a POLITICIAN. Who made politicians gods who are above humor? Get off your high horse, Sarah and join the rest of us regular people you claim to want to represent.

When lefties use a special needs child to get at Palin, like they do, it shows they have no backbone and expose their vile cowardliness.
Keep showing your true colors, Americans are seeing what you are all about and are rejecting you.

Ah Mark's obsession with Sarah Palin continues. Mark do you get NEWS there in Washington? Like this about the "Scientist" Phil Jones, behind the phony Global Warming scam:
The British scientist in the middle of November's ClimateGate scandal says that contrary to what Al Gore and many in the media claim, the debate concerning manmade global warming is not over.
"There is still much that needs to be undertaken to reduce uncertainties, not just for the future, but for the instrumental (and especially the palaeoclimatic) past as well," Phil Jones, the former head of Britain's Climatic Research Unit told the BBC.
In a lengthy Q&A published at BBC.com Saturday, Jones also said: the recent warming trend that began in 1975 is not at all different than two other planetary warming phases since 1850; there has been no statistically significant warming since 1995, and; it is possible the Medieval Warm Period was indeed a global phenomenon thereby making the temperatures seen in the latter part of the 20th century by no means unprecedented.
Maybe most important, Jones explained what "hide the decline" in ClimateGate e-mail messages meant confirming they manipulated data...

I am so happy that Sarah Palin pushes you liberals off the edge. So much so that the Tribune will allow posters to use the F word in describing Palin. You guys are great! GREAT AT BEING HYPOCRITES that is. I hope that Sarah makes you all breakdown and continue to show you mental disorder.

I wonder if the down syndrome actress understands that a lot of the hatred for sarah palin is due to having a baby that she was told would probably have down syndrome.
she obviously was too stupid to have the abortion everyone knows she should have.
who really needs to wake up?

"Family Guy's" disgusting use of Sarah Palin's daughter's down syndrome is par for the course with the politicized Left.
BTW, Seth MacFarlane, the creator of Family Guy, is an ardent Obama supporter who's contributed thousands to The Chosen One, and actually spoke at an Obama campaign rally.

This is not political satire. The Family Guy show is about how they can be abusive toward others to get a laugh. Friedman said she was accepting of this type of humor. You have to remember that children and young adults watch these shows and become accustom to the content.Even if someone didn't have Downs syndrome, would you want your daughter to be disrespected and treated like a whore? Even if the intent of the episode was to attack Sarah Palin, they used her child to do it and they were abusive toward that child. When abuse in society becomes an accepted practice on such a widespread level it's no longer entertainment, it becomes reality especially for children who are quite capable of emulating it. The song sung on that episode was about child abuse. Even though the character was portrayed as having Downs syndrome, it was about disrespecting and abusing that child. It would not surprise me in the least if a pedophile was responsible for writing the lyrics to that song.

My god. Sarah Palin is more ridiculous than I thought. Everyone knows Family Guy's sense of humour, if she didn't like it she should have just ignored it, rather than lashing out like a spoilt child. And I agree with everyone who says she needs to stop hiding behind her kids. It's sick how she parades Trigg around like he's "a loaf of french bread" (friedman's term)!

This woman completely outclassed Sarah. She's worked 20 years for a law firm and takes acting jobs on the side. She is articulate, intelligent, and humorous. Palin could take a few lessons from her. Apparently, Down Syndrome didn't stop this woman from achieving her goals. Palin can't have it both ways. She can't beg the media for attention and then tell them to leave her alone when they aren't heaping praise upon her misguided and monumentally stupid rants. If she insists on being a public figure, then she has to accept that she is open to public scrutiny. And to the actress' credit, SHE didn't quit in the middle of her job.

7% at CPAC....Can we now stop talking about this opportunist?
Posted by: bill r. | February 21, 2010 8:28 AM
You all seem to forget; Family Guy attacks EVERYONE and EVERYTHING well knowing that it WILL offend and it WILL wreak havock and draw attention. How else would the show have lasted so long? If you want to complain about an episode that attempts to show that people with Down Syndrome are just like everyone else, then why not complain about every single OTHER episode? Don't lie to yourselves. You all laughed in the episode where Cleveland was in a police surveillance van and was beaten up and had a gun planted on him because he was black ---- Did that end up on the news? No. PICK your battles folks, or change the channel.
