President Barack Obama, in an interview that will air Tuesday morning on the Today show, calls the healthcare reform that he has signed into law "a first step.''
"I think it is a critical first step in making a health care system that works for all Americans,'' the president says in an interview with NBC News' Matt Lauer which will be shown in the morning. "It is not going to be the only thing. We are still going to have adjustments that have to be made to further reduce costs.''
The president also addresses his surprise visit to Afghanistan on Sunday in the interview, a six-hour tour of Kabul and Bagram Air Base. The president returned to the White House this morning after the unannounced trip to the war-torn nation.
Afghan President Hamid Karzai "is listening,'' Obama tells Lauer, "but I think that the progress is too slow and what we've been trying to emphasize is the fierce urgency of now.
The president also addresses the suicide bombings in the Moscow subway that have claimed many lives.
"We have been on top of the issue of rail security and subway security for quite some time,'' Obama says, according to excerpts released tonight by NBC News.
"We constantly monitor it and try to figure out how to improve what we are doing,'' Obama says. " It is obviously a significant concern. It's not restricted to subways.
"The same thing can happen in a bus terminalm and if you've got somebody who is determined to kill themselves and kill other people with them. That is always a challenge for any government. But I'll have a terrorism briefing this afternoon as I do on a weekly basis and this is something that we are constantly working on.
"A lot of what's important is because the rail system or the subway systems are so far flung in this country, a lot of what's most important to us is being able to identify ahead of time individuals like Zazi in Colorado who have decided they want to cause damage and us being able to roll them up before they are in a position to actually strike.''

Folks with jobs should be very concerned. If he says that this is the "first step" then get ready for Eurocare. "Adjustments" to cost =rationing. Funny how our elected officials have opted out of this horrible plan for themselves and their families. Welcome to the nanny state. The value added tax, cap and tax and amnesty are next. Lies, Lies, Lies. Paraphrasing..."I will not sign a bill that adds to the deficit." "If you like your plan (doctor) then you can keep it." Apparently we are supposed to believe that you can have everything for free...

Obama is in over his head. His
crony Axelrod said the MassCare in Ma. is a TEMPLATE OF HIS OBAMA CARE, guess what, the projected cost of MassCare was 88 Million, it has ended up being 4 BILLION, and that is with plenty of extra This exercise of power will bankrupt the country.

BO states "We are still going to have adjustments that have to be made to further reduce costs.'' When given the chance - Congress said No. Congress had the chance to stop providing Viagra to pedophiles, but Dems said "No".

BO went to the local GM dealer in Washington, DC. with the intention of buying a brand new vehicle. BO looks around and finds one he likes. After going back and forth with the salesman, BO settles on a price of $45,000.
BO and the salesman go back to the office to complete the paperwork. BO works out a 4-year payment plan, and signs on the bottom line. The salesman shakes BO's hand and says, "Thanks Mr. President, the car will be ready for pickup in four years."
BO says, "What are you talking about? Where are the keys to my new car?"
The salesman replies, "No, you don't understand Mr. President. You make payments for 4 years... THEN we give you the car. You know, just like your health plan".
BO, with a choking voice, says to the salesman, "But that's not fair".
What goes around, comes around.

Yeah, like you rolled up the "isolated incident" in Fort Hood, and the "isolated incident" of the underwear bomber. You had plenty of clues on those two, but political correctness stopped anyone from acting. That will be how it goes down. The enemy (sorry, but I like to keep it simple) will exploit our stupid politican's inability to see a threat and act.

I thought Obama already had a plan - after all, we were supposed to vote for him based on the specifics that he laid out and promised to implement. Are we supposed to sit around the tree, sing carols, and plan for a nationwide health care system that is already planned anyway at the highest level of government?

Thank goodness that it will take 60 votes to go beyond this supposed "first step" (60 votes the Dems don't have thanks to scotty Brown) to further destroy our heath care system. This guy can pretty much forget about anything else for the rest of the year after he jammed this crap down our throats. Nov. can't get here soon enough.

As long as the Obamacare bill remains as law, it will only grow bigger.
The government will take over the control and management of health care. We'll all be paying more in taxes to support this socialized system.

First step towards single payer....one would hope. Companies need to find a more ethical way to make money, other than off the backs of the dead bodies.

The latest Gallup/USA Today poll has terrible numbers for Obama. For the first time, his disapproval rate has soared to 50%, and a huge majority diss the recently passed ObamaCare law:
"By Susan Page, USA TODAY
Nearly two-thirds of Americans say the health care overhaul signed into law last week costs too much and expands the government's role in health care too far, a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll finds, underscoring an uphill selling job ahead for President Obama and congressional Democrats."
Any bets on how long Obama's Swamp buddies, usually so quick to publicize the Gallup Poll, will hide this one from Swamp readers?

Since healthcare reform passed and is now law, when is the foul smelling drug addict Limpbaugh going to move to Costa Rico like he told us all he would. I'd bet anyone he doesn't go anywhere. He's too afraid of the socialized healthcare they have there.

Just watch over the next few months and years as ...
- portions of this get amended and/or reversed as reality sets in,
- as unintended consequences are revealed,
- as political party powers change
- as our national debt balloons

Doogie,
Since you are exhibit A for what gov't education and your inability to read/listen to a COMPLETE story, why would you want gov't running your health care more?
Horrible Form,
"Companies need to find a more ethical way to make money, other than off the backs of the dead bodies" Just what dead bodies are you referring to? I don't know too many businesses that make money from killing their employees.

teri,
Let me give you some clues that might unlock the mysteries of my post for you:
1. Read the title of the article
2. Read the article itself
3. Re-read my post
4. Appologize to Doug for telling him that he does not comprehend what he reads.
5. Bake, and eat for yourself, an entire cow pie...or crow pie, whichever you prefer.

Horrible Form,
Did 1, 2, & 3.
Will not do on 4 since I am correct.
5. No Thanks, no need

Terri,
My posting went right over your head. Go back an re-read it, maybe more slowly this time. You can take some notes if necessary.
My suggestion to you would be to pick up an elementary level grammar class as well.

MISSING THE POINT:
I grew up with, lived, and had two companies, with a family member that has a server personality disorder. Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD), which is a very serious illness, so with my over 50 years of experience, including every single day of my life, dealing with NPD, it has become very clear to me the our President, Barack Obama, the commander and chief is inflicted with NPD.
If true, as I believe, these many issues like those mentioned above will only progressively increase while becoming more pronounced.
Knowing how NPD totally destroyed my family, I hope I'm wrong. But each and every day, President Obama validate these very nasty symptoms.
Please review type into Google:
