Ron Paul's 2008 presidential campaign won him a cult following - we'll never forget his supporters chanting "Kill the Fed! Kill the Fed!" on election night in New Hampshire - but it didn't get him anywhere close to the White House.

This morning, though, Paul can bask in a family triumph that is a direct offshoot of his presidential run, its libertarian message and the "Tea Party" movement it helped spawn: Paul's son, Rand, is the runaway Republican nominee for an open Senate seat in Kentucky.

Rand Paul is an opthamologist and political activist who ended up trouncing Kentucky Secretary of State Trey Grayson in the primary last night. This morning, Ron Paul - a Republican congressman from Texas - confessed to some nervousness about his son's chances going into the election.

"I thought it was an overwhelming task," Ron Paul told Fox News Channel's Fox and Friends "and, as a parent I don't want to see him put a lot of energy into it and you know be hurt. What he has done is way beyond my expectations and that is a very pleasant thing that has happened."

"I was very pleased," he added, "but I was also concerned because I didn't know how far we've moved with the freedom movement."

Tea Party voters and donations fueled Rand Paul's campaign, with a force that surprised even his father.

"I think It's much bigger than anyone of us has ever dreamed," Ron Paul told Fox, "bigger than what I even thought."

Don you have produced nothing but blathering – AGAIN. Ron Paul opposed Bush’s wasteful wars, wasteful spending, the erosion of civil and personal rights, and the troubling expansion of the government. Please inform yourself of the facts before you begin spewing your normal dreck.

FITZ,

Are the troops coming home tomorrow like BO promised?

Hey, Pontificator, I'll match my dreck with your dreck, anytime. The Paul Clones, are Republicans impersonating T.Baggers and Libertarians. I wonder, what Party affiliation, they are claiming today ? I guess it depends on what day it is and which way the wind is blowing!! Their answers to complex questions, concerning our citizens lives, are simplistic, thus unrealistic. It is easy for those fortunate ones to demand smaller governments, when they have not been excluded from the possibility of success, in this good country.
It makes no difference to me. They are all of the same ilk, with the likes of Dickie Armey, Neut Getrich, Sarah " Show Me The Money " Palin, all claiming to be T.Baggers, Libertarians or Republicans. all getting rich, making tons of money, sowing seeds of dissension, for its own sake. What a despicable cast of money grubbers, posers and clones. Yes, even clowns !
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, BRING THEM HOME, ALIVE AND WHOLE. NOW.
