Democrats have quickly rebounded from a historically weak performance in the generic ballot test, and now match up evenly with Republicans in the latest Gallup survey.
The survey, conducted June 1 through 6, asked 1,378 registered voters which party's candidate they'd support in the Congressional election in November. Forty-six percent chose the Democrat, while 46 percent chose the Republican. In the previous survey the Republicans led 49-43 percent, the largest lead the GOP had ever held on this question in Gallup's history.
It should be noted that the change is within the survey's margin of error. And Gallup also concludes that "the political environment still looks favorable to the Republican Party just inside of five months before Election Day."
One important reason why: 46 percent of registered Republicans say they are very enthusiastic about voting in the coming midterm elections, while just 24 percent of Democrats say so. That enthusiasm gap is the largest of the year to this point, in part because it's the lowest level of enthusiasm among Democrats year to date.

Comments
Democrats only get enthused about voting when one of the issues is about what they are going to get free or they get paid to vote.

Do you think BP/Halliburton had anything to do with it?

I'm trying to think of some concrete GOP proposals that they can actually run on this fall....
- drill baby drill
- don't be so mean to racists
- have you hugged a torturer today?
- more war pleez
- Hulk mad at social studies textbooks. Hulk smash.
The GOPer's have been so busy dancing in the End Zone and pouring Champaign all over themselves about elections they think they're going to win this fall, that they've failed to notice that Americans still hate them. They'll win some seats back, the minority party always wins some seats back during the first mid term after a Prez election. But after all is said and done this fall, they'll still be the minority party in both chambers of Congress.
Far More Than Half of Americans Disapprove of the Teabaggers.

You wonder why the country's economy is in the mess it is in, look who is leading it?
Study shows, the more liberal you are, the less you know about economics. FITZ, Trickled On, are you paying attention?

“democrats rebound in generic ballot / but democrats enthusiasm over November vote wanes” ~ M.M.

Well which is it? Has Amerika gotten enough taste of socialism to last for a little while, or are we really longing to see a little more of what these Socialists can bring to your hovel.
Other than the Kool-aid faithful, does anyone see anything getting better? How much more of a pounding are your special body parts prepared to surrender to?
When democrats win, Liberalism advances
When Republicans win, Liberalism is delayed
Maybe Amerika could look at Greece, Spain, Portugal today / France, Germany, the UK, tomorrow and totter off in a different direction. Nah, Waaaaay too much information.

The Democrats have squandered the electoral good will from 2008. Both parties have their respective bases, while the Indies are shopping. Advantage: Republicans.

NOTE TO SWAMP ADMINISTRATOR:
We need a 'No Multiple Post Names' rule.

I'm not worried Gallup has had a hard time lately getting anything right. And in three other polls there is a 8 to 9 point Republican lead. They did not even get the elections in Virginia, New Jersey, or Massachusetts right. And they missed more of yesterday's primaries than other polling organizations.

Just sayin',
Don't overlook the fact that some households have more than one SWAMP fan.

ornery,
Maybe, but it's pretty obvious that when different post names are posting the same things every day, in the same writing style, even making grammatical errors then s/he is a single person pretending to be several. I other word, a spammer or a troll.
.
So subjective judgment and screening is doable. Requiring registration and log-in would help some, too.
