There was a time when a visit from the president of Russia to the president of the United States was full of protocol set amid an air of great historical forces at work.
On Thursday, President Obama and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev skipped the formalities and dashed out for a quick hamburger.
Medvedev got a chance to go where Obama has taken his vice president -- to Ray's Hell Burger in Arlington, Va. According to pool reports, the pair took off their suit jackets and sat down to the house specialties.
Obama had a cheddar cheeseburger with onions, lettuce, tomato and pickles, washed down with an iced tea. Medvedev selected a cheddar cheeseburger with onions, jalapeno peppers and mushrooms. He ordered a Coke, in an echo of the days when another cola played a crucial role in U.S.-Russia relations.

Remember when Nikita K was in the US and visited a corn field in Iowa?
That was big news back then.
Now I guess they've progressed to a corn dog or something.

Did he make a visit to the potty? Did he leave a tip? Geesh, we're 18 months into this administration and the country is falling apart and we're still getting these stale photo-ops and news flashes on what he's eating. I'll let you in on a little secret - no one cares what The One puts in his gullet.

Did he ask him if anyone in Russia had any idea how to stop that little ol leak in the gulf? “I will not rest until the leak has stopped.“ “I will not rest until the leak has stopped.“ “I will not rest until the leak has stopped.“ Hey Joe, where are you going with those World Cup tickets in your hand....

Brucie - when the President of the United States has a burger lunch with the president of Russia when he comes to visit our country ... yeah, IT'S NEWS.

BTW, what news do you have from the RepubliCANTs today? More groveling to the oil companies?

Obama and Medvedev did something that, for people of their stature, was unusual, namely going out for a hamburger. The somewhat poetic irony, of course, is that something so mundane for most of us is indeed unusual for them. Got it?
Your small and silly comments about plugging the leak or whatever only demonstrate why gnats like you will never leave mommy's basement. Obama has an important job, something you folks will never be able to say of yourselves.

Jeebus can't a guy eat a burger in peace without trolls sniveling and snickering to themselves?
Posted by: Joe | June 25, 2010 1:01 PM
Joe: If he wanted to have a burger in peace he could have had it delivered to the WH or had the White House Chef prepare one. The One loves his photo-ops doesn't he? Come on, you know this is his "regular guy" kind of photo-op.

I wonder if Obama paid with the money that BP contributed to his presidential campaign. Also, I wonder if he ordered his burger with no Hope and extra Change.

Just taking one talking point of Bruce's up there about Louisiana and the spill.. Scientists have been concerned that some of the sand barriers are being built too close to the marshes and wildlife habitat, so they have ordered the barriers be moved a few miles out. That's a move recommended by conservations designed to protect the environment and Louisiana's coast against a permanent barrier thrown up in the middle of a habitat. Also, it means the oil will be collected farther away from the land, which is better.

via: but then if he never came out then you'd be saying 'the One can't come down from his ivory tower?' please, this is usual, typical, hypocritical troll business.

Please Joe, the man is in our faces 24/7, his whole 18 months has been "look at me". I wish they would put him in that ivory tower and throw away the key.

No, I think some Republican-Libertarian-T.Bagger paid his bill, in full! After all, in the last election cycle, the Republican-Libertarian-T.Baggers received 76% of all Oil Slicks' money, as political contributions. President Obama's campaign contribution, a mere bag of Shells: $77,000. You Oil Slick Lappers are all alike, you'll lick anything for a buck, including a Bankster !!
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, BRING THEM HOME, ALIVE AND WHOLE. NOW.
