The Senate today rejected an amendment offered by Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) that would have stopped the EPA from regulating greenhouse gases. The vote on a motion to proceed failed 47-53.
As Lisa Mascaro reported yesterday, the measure was backed by a majority of Republicans and many industry groups, including the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, who feel it is Congress' role, not the EPA's, to impose such regulations. President Obama had threatened to veto the measure if approved.
Six Democrats, including Sen. Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas, joined the unanimous GOP conference in the unsuccessful effort.

Obama has succeeded in making Washington more bipartisan.
As can be seen, opposition to his policies is bipartisan.

Duh!! Anybody in their right mind would have rejected it. The Republican-Libertarian-T.Baggers are trying to do to our EPA, what they succeeded in doing to our financial regulators, make them inconsequential. Thus, the financial meltdown. Just as the Bush&Cheney administration did to the MMS, by underfunding, understaffing and allowing the Oil Corps to call the shots and corrupt them. Thank God, the Democrats, in our Senate rejected the Republican-sponsored gutting of our EPA. Now, we can better regulate our pollution output and monitor our fuel efficiency !! If the moronic Right would have listened to President Carter, 35 years ago, we wouldn't be in this dilemma today. This should have been a vote on scientific grounds, instead we had a political vote, with a little voodoo, mixed in with it !! The moronic Republican-Libertarian-T.Baggers have went over the cliff and they are trying to take the rest of us, with them. What a bunch of crazies !!
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, BRING THEM HOME, ALIVE AND WHOLE. NOW.

With the brain-dead liberals do not understand is that the actions that the EPA has threatened will put hundreds of thousands out of work. The liberals are just making this coming November that much easier.

Don: It's not about regulating POLLUTION. It's about regulating CO2 and defining your exhalations as a POLLUTANT, despite shoddy, politically motivated junk science.
Stop exhaling.

Congress continues to simply hand over their authority. Soon they will be as irrelevant as tax-paying voters and we'll all be ruled by a handfull of appointed, rich FOO.

Corporations should do the right thing by NOT polluting our air, land, and sea. If they cleaned up after themselves there would be no reason for the EPA. But, they will cut corners for a buck instead.
