Is there a new campaign logo in the works for President Obama if he seeks re-election in 2012?
The photo above is part of the latest bulk release of snapshots from the official photographers at the White House to the photo-sharing site Flickr. It was taken earlier this month when Obama visited a Washington small business, Gelberg Signs, to speak about the state of the economy.
Obama's proclivity for hitting the links is well known by now, something he does almost every weekend. The RNC has attacked the president for golfing regularly as the BP oil spill crisis unfolded.
The president is said to value his time on the golf course, a rare chance to clear his head and break out of the White House bubble from time to time. He recently noted that one of the only times he can get behind the wheel is when navigating a golf cart.
Thus far on his Martha's Vineyard vacation, Obama has managed two rounds of golf, a total limited perhaps by the foul conditions on and off this week. He's also hit the gym for some basketball.

I can dig that. Four, 4, more years of President Obama and a cooperative, whittled down group of Republican legislators!! That makes more sense than a return to the disastrous, despicable, dastardly, deadly, depressive dummies, known as the Bush&Cheney. America will be flourishing within 2 years of President Obama's re-election, if not before!!

Weather seldom cooperates with long laid vacation plans.
I concluded that decades ago. I let the nice weather come to me.
As it is, this week, in Chicago.
Our 26 mile lakefront park can compete with any resort anywhere.

I used to think that his golfing interfered with White House decorum. We are still engaged in two wars and an economic question mark. Having really listened to what he has said here, I can relate. You get away for a while. Maybe its not so much changing the way you look at a black man playing golf (rich name brands argiles and cardigans) but more like changing the way you look at golf itself (sprawling peaceful time). Having said that, that sign won't get him re-elected. Too silly for our times. Silly, a word Obama used to use a lot.

And, as has been observed more than once, you can't beat someone with nobody.
You've got 6 1/2 years to go on your countdown clock.
But who's counting?

Ornery, Don, and Robbie, Who are you guys talking to? By reading your comments, it seems that you are hearing voices in your heads.
You are the guys on the professional left that Robert Gibbs is talking about. I mean you are getting paid right? You are hoes for the democrat's left. Nobody is that stupid. As Gibbs said: Those people ought to be drug tested,” Gibbs said. “I mean, it’s crazy.”
Has it ever occurred to you that you HAVE to have an opponent, not a make believe opponent, but a real one to have an argument with? I know that you haven't ever thought about it. But, you look really stupid. I mean, more stupid than you usually look. Which, by the way is extremely stupid. Just tryin' to help you out bros.
Oh wait, I forgot Roger Morris. He's so smart. He should be the spokesperson for the liberals. He is perfect for you. Roger Morris and Howard Dean. All you have do is to work out who is VP.

so, mr. fitzgerald, and ethan - do you happen to recall what the economy was like prior to 2006? Oh sorry, to far back for short term recovery.
To referesh: my house was worth 50% more than it is now, the unemployment rate was 4..3%, the naional dept was in the billions, (NOT trillions), I actually had hopes that our children would have a better life.
Also take note that the dems were remooved from the majority during the boom years of Clintons administration, the dems were not the majority during the good years of Ws' administration. The dems WERE the majority during the collapse under W, and on into that of the obaminations' term.
Do yo happen to see a pattern emerging?
The dems cannot manage a lemonade stand successfully! But they sure can screw up the economy at a breakneck pace.
I truly hope the obamination continues his golf. I wish nasty nancy, reid, dobbs, et all would all take up golf, and pursue it relentlessly. That would mean less time dreaming their impossible dreams, and shoving those impossible dreams down our throats.
Impeach!

"To referesh: my house was worth 50% more than it is now"
-----------------------
It was never worth 50% more in the first place. Ratio is that you can only afford a house that is 3X your earnings. So, why is your house worth 50% more unless your income jump 3 folds. That is why you get the hyped bubble housing.
"the naional dept was in the billions, (NOT trillions)"
---------------------
Are you kidding me? The Iraq and Afghan war added $1 trillion (all Bush and unpaid for) plus another $1 trillion for a taxcut for the rich (all Bush and unpaid for)!
"Also take note that the dems were remooved from the majority during the boom years of Clintons administration,"
-------------------------------
Correct, the Republican Congress voted for NAFTA so they can ship our jobs overseas! They voted to deregulate the Financials! Indeed it were prosperous years if you were bilionaires!
"Do yo happen to see a pattern emerging?"
-------------
Yes, I do. The rich are getting richer. And, the poor are getting poorer. 10% of the population owns 50% of the wealth. Do the math. . .it doesn't take a genius to find out that the trend is "revolution." But, we already the end results, when the rich has all the money, the poor will uprise. Unfortunately, they will be quickly taken down by the Army. So the end result is still the same: the rich will have all the monie! Goodbye middle class! Welcome back to the age of "Serf!"

Very few presidents have had very much success in their 2nd term. Mustapha could just ease right on in with that one without missing a beat.

Rodney King,
Yes one's house can be worth more than 3X earnings.
The Cost of the War on Terror is over $1 Trillion - Over $200 billion is BO's. Tell me - how much has been spent on Soc Security, Medicare, and other gov't programs during this time.
Tax Cuts should not be "paid for" - since it is our money to start with. Also, those tax cuts helped the economy grow. The deficit was down to $162 billion in 2007 - about 1/8 of the current BO deficit.
NAFTA is a two way streets - many jobs were shipped overseas and many jobs came into this country. If NAFTA was so bad for employment, then why was unemployment at a very good level for the 15 years after NAFTA was signed?
The poor will uprise when the rich don't pay enough to those sitting on the economic wagon. The poor, along with everyone else, get 13 years of free gov't education. That education should train everyone with the skills necessary to enter the job market. That and a little ambition, anyone can succeed in this country.

According to Citibank, 1 % of the population owns more assets than the bottom 95% of the population in the US.
That's why Obama is going to raise taxes on that 1 %.
And that's why they fear him.
As well they should.....

HRK,
How can you possibly know what someone’s personal real estate is worth?
The criteria that you tried to cite is the basic criteria that is used to MAKE or QUALIFY for a mortgage loan. It is certainly POSSIBLE for someone to make a large down payment to purchase a more expensive house that would otherwise be outside of the affordability range that would be supported by their income.
Before the Age of Obama, it was POSSIBLE for a home to APPRECIATE in value due to favorable market conditions. You, HRK, like most democrats have a very poor understanding of markets and wealth creation. Your comments speak volumes.
Americans have lost retirement savings, education savings, employment income, and employment opportunity, as well as the value of their personal real estate. democrats call this “hope and change”. Yeah, we are having to take a serious look at serfdom. Duly noted.

Ornery, ye ole’ Chic-cog-go democrat. Que hace?
Ornery, Dj is here to help u out. Don’t work up too much anxiety over who the Republican candidate will be in 2012. I can just about guarantee you that we will have one. One that will NOT be in the mode of Bob Dole and John McCain, two very fine Americans whose time had already expired as they were winning the nomination of Lincoln’s Party.
In 1958, could the democrats have projected JFK? In 1966, could the Republicans have possibly projected RMN or even more than a prayer of a chance of winning anything with anyone? How about Clinton in 1990 OR 1991?
I like Marco Rubio a lot. I would think that he needs to first beat out Charlie Crist, although Lincoln seems to not have beaten Stephen Douglas in 1858. I like Governor Pawlenty. Congressman Paul Ryan is waaaaaaaaaay more intelligent than Mustapha would be even if he re-enrolled at Harvard for 30 more years.
After 4 years of Obama’s trickle-up poverty, America may be more than ready for Mitt Romney. democrats and the media will of course have to pull out their Mormon Hate card and rip him for that.
I know that there is a built-in / built-up hatred for Amerika’s favorite Red State, but Rick Perry would not be “hopeless” against Mustapha. When everyone else is totally destitute, Tx must be doing something right.
If Huckabee can convince Republicans that he really is a Conservative, then he would have a chance. Finally there are who knows how many Republicans that we don’t tend to throw a spotlight on every day. Surely someone with more than a fair chance will surface.
Mustapha needs to enjoy as much golf and basketball that he can right now. There will be opposition in 2012 and they will be loaded for bear. Probably won’t mean nothing to democrats, but the independent voter will surely be up to giving the choices some very serious consideration. It’s on.

So, we wish your contenders well.
Posted by: ornery | August 26, 2010 2:55 PM
Ornery,
Herculean tasks? ~ I like that.
In my more youthful baseball life, I always thought that the other team had more than a fair chance of putting a beating on the good guys ~ my exceptional track-down speed and magical glove notwithstanding, no matter how bad the scouting reports said the antagonist was. My conservatism just naturally extends to thinking the battle for truth and justice, fairness and economic opportunity FOR ALL (ExxonMobil, Chevron, and BP empoyees included), is always going to be an uphill contest.
HOWEVER, putting a whipping on one-term President Barack Obama and a democrat controlled Congress so intent on destroying jobs and the American way of life as we know it to have existed, just cannot be that tall of an order.
Thanx for the good wishes and, of course, the outcome will play out as we clod along Perdition's Highway. Regards.

Before the Age of Obama, it was POSSIBLE for a home to APPRECIATE in value due to favorable market conditions.
-----------------------
1. Correct, the 3x earnings is used to determine qualification. You would be correct only if wages went up and kept pace with the real estate market. Then appreciation could be sustain. But, wages were flat or down in the last 10 years with rate of inflation. So how can your house continue to possibly appreciate beyond what people could afford?
-----------------------------
You, HRK, like most democrats have a very poor understanding of markets and wealth creation. Your comments speak volumes.
--------------------
2. Correct. You, the Republicans and Lehman, Bear Stern, and the rest of the dinosaur companies have a great understanding of housing market values! Does this symbol look familiar to you: LEHMQ?
In matter of fact, Lehman had such a great understanding of the housing markets that they were buying and selling junk housing bonds! This happened way before Obama took office. So, your claim is "false."
Lehman fell on Sept. 15th, 2008 before the November election! In the past, you could fool people with misinformation, but with today's technology, it is easy "searchin."
Here is the link:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lehman_Brothers
-------------------------
"
In August 2007, the firm closed its subprime lender, BNC Mortgage, eliminating 1,200 positions in 23 locations, and took an after-tax charge of $25 million and a $27 million reduction in goodwill. Lehman said that poor market conditions in the mortgage space "necessitated a substantial reduction in its resources and capacity in the subprime space".[42]
August 2007? Obama wasn't even President! hahahaha

The Cost of the War on Terror is over $1 Trillion - Over $200 billion is BO's. Tell me - how much has been spent on Soc Security, Medicare, and other gov't programs during this time.
--------------------------
1. You and I already had this discussion. The Spending budget is almost the same every year: Defense, Medicare, Social security are the largest part of the pie at around 20% each.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:U.S._Federal_Spending_-_FY_2007.png
If you don't like Social Security and Medicare then get rid of it and explain it to the Seniors. I'm sure they would want to know about it. As of me? I would rather cut Defense. David did just fine with Goliath because he had a better strategy. He didn't have a bigger sword, shield, or budget!
----------------------
Tax Cuts should not be "paid for" - since it is our money to start with. Also, those tax cuts helped the economy grow. The deficit was down to $162 billion in 2007 - about 1/8 of the current BO deficit.
----------------------
2. I agree with you that tax cuts should not be "paid for." But the problem is that the money has already been spent. So, if the money has already been spent, how else are you going to get it back? For example, the money I put in Social Security is already spent by the Federal Government. So, how can they give it back to me, when they have already spent it? The only way is that the Govt. borrows money. Borrowing means, eventually, Uncle Sam would have to pay for the "redeemed" US Bonds held by the Chinese. So, the bill is not even here yet!!!
-----------------------------
NAFTA is a two way streets - many jobs were shipped overseas and many jobs came into this country. If NAFTA was so bad for employment, then why was unemployment at a very good level for the 15 years after NAFTA was signed?
--------------------
3. Easy math! Short term gain. Long term pain. The net job is negative. If all the jobs were shipped overseas, no one will be able to afford to buy products. The net is indeed negative:
Source Wiki:
"... discrepancy between domestically-produced exports and exports produced in foreign countries. For example, many US exports are simply being shipped to Mexican maquiladores where they are assembled, and then shipped back to the U.S. as final products.[9] These are not products destined for consumption by Mexicans, yet they made up 61% of exports in 2002. However, only domestically-produced exports are the ones that support U.S. labor. Therefore, the measure of net impact of trade should be calculated using only domestically-produced exports as an indicator of job creation.
78% of the net job losses under NAFTA, 686,700 jobs, were relatively-high paying manufacturing jobs.[9] Certain states with heavy emphasis on manufacturing industries like Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana, and California were significantly affected by these job losses. For example, in Ohio, TAA and NAFTA-TAA identified 14,653 jobs directly lost due to NAFTA-related reasons like relocation of U.S. firms to Mexico.[10] Similarly, in Pennsylvania, Keystone Research Center attributed 150,000 job losses in the state to the rising U.S. trade deficit. . ."
---------------------------
The poor will uprise when the rich don't pay enough to those sitting on the economic wagon. The poor, along with everyone else, get 13 years of free gov't education. That education should train everyone with the skills necessary to enter the job market. That and a little ambition, anyone can succeed in this country.
----------------------
4. In a good economy, you would be correct. But in a bad economy, try getting a job out of college? Get real. . .no amount of education is going to land you a job if there are no jobs! Most college graduates become waiters with $100k of school loan to repay! They are worst and poorer then Rodney King! Actually, Rodney King is rich now. . .since he won his civil suit. Anyway, a lot of people are not going to college because of debt!

"Obama Sucks" and Other Profound Thoughts
The following is an admittedly ineffectual effort to come to an understanding of the meaning behind prevailing anti-Obama sentiment as revealed in two pictures. Since the pics are not visible on all websites, I’ll also attempt to provide sufficient detail about them so that the reader knows what he’s missing.
A) The first photo depicts a fairly attractive, blond woman in her thirties or forties possibly attending an anti-Obama rally while sporting a white print on a black tee shirt that clearly reflects her political feelings: It reads in bold lettering: ”OBAMA SUCKS.”
Absent a confirmed statement by the wearer, we can only guess at the precise meaning behind her cryptic tee. The graphic idea if not graphic photo appears to be an attempt by “ht/jc lady” on Iowntheworld.com to express one of two sentiments.
Either the provocative “ht/jc lady” is expressing a deep and heartfelt emotion in contemporary jargon that President Barack Hussein Obama represents the worst president in America’s long and illustrious history, that he “sucks” even worse than Fillmore, Wilson, Harding, and Carter, or ”ht/jc lady” is commenting on Obama’s sex life.
For the purpose of retaining my breakfast, I hope “Obama Sucks” relates only to his ineptitude and not in any way to his relationship with Michelle.
Tongue in cheek, IOTW comments on the photo that, “This woman is a straight up racist,” . . .
