One of the reasons Democrats said last week's primary elections "could not have gone better" was their view that again, Republican primary voters had chosen candidates outside the mainstream as their nominees in key races for governor and U.S. Senate.
This week has been considerably less kind to the majority party, as the uproar president's comments on the proposed community center and mosque near Ground Zero trumped his message on the economy, and new polling showed the GOP in a stronger position ahead of midterm elections.
Now, the National Republican Senatorial Committee is also strongly responding to the Democratic spin that its candidates have an "extreme" agenda.
One of the points in the web video is that so-called "extreme" GOP nominees are actually running ahead of, or at worst are competitive with Democrats' favored candidates. Instead what is "extreme," the video claims, is "Siding against 9/11 families," a "$3 trillion tax hike," the "$1.5 trillion deficit," and a "$2.5 trillion health care takeover."
In fact, a new Congressional Budget Office estimate pegs this year's deficit as $1.3 trillion, "$71 billion below last year's total and $27 billion lower than the amount that CBO projected in March 2010."

Harry Truman had a very effective ad in the 1948 election.
He talked about Social Security, the GI Bill, etc.--all benefits created by FDR and the New Deal Congress.
And how the Republicans wanted to repeal all that.....
So, why not take a page out of Harry's play book? It worked for him.
Or, the ads against Shady Brady on women's issues--

The only real problem with that approach, every reasonable voter knows, that President Obama's opposition lies, distorts, misinforms, confuses, scares and last, but not least, smears!! So, it is a failed policy they will be pursuing and America knows that, already. It's not America's interests that they want to promote, but their own, failed, narrow-minded, mean-spirited agenda. They want to shove it down America's throat. Fortunately, a majority of voters have disagreed with that strategy in the recent past and I think we still remember all of the damage, that agenda has wreaked.

To call the party known as the GOP extreme is a huge understatement. They are reactionary at best. They will stoop, slither and resort to absolutely anything to not only make their point, but to snidely question the intelligence, integrity or patriotism of anyone who dares to disagree with them and their views.

To my friends on the Left and Right. This is political campaign season also known sometimes as "silly season." The Democrats and Republicans are
going to try to spin all issues to their political advantage. We are going to hear all sorts claims, counter-claims and accusations by both parties. Some of these will be true, half true or completely false. I also remember when I was in Graduate School taking a Historiography Course we were taught to NEVER use political pamphlets and materials and source material. Political parties tend to tell only part of the story and leave a lot out. They would point out all the great things they did and the bad things their opponents did. And may times they would either stretch the truth or give flat out distortions or
untruths to the issues. Plus they will never admit they made mistakes or that some of their policies were not successful. So it is political season and with 24/7 Political News, let the Political BS begin.

Back in 1948, the Social Security tax rate was 2%, not 12.4%. That 2% was applied against your first $3,000 of earning for a total of $60 as compared to today where that 12.4% is applied against your first $106,800 for a tax of nearly $13,000. Americans have wised up to the problems of this ponzi scheme.

They claimed that people who are against the Mosque are Extreme too !!! That's 70% of the people ! I’m about as sick of writing about mosques, Muslims, Sharia, Islam, Imam Feisel Abdul Rauf, and Muhammad as readers are sick of reading and hearing about them.
Yet to suspend attention to them at what might be the most critical juncture in America’s history is to surrender to those forces dedicated to the defeat and dismantling of America as we know it.
Symbolized by the Ground Zero Monster Mosque, Muslims and Islam, with Rauf acting as their commander, are intent on capitalizing on their victory of September 11th, 2001, defeating America in our decades-long war on terror, and subjugating Americans to the brutal strictures of Sharia law.
As I concluded Part One of this series, “Think it can’t happen here? September 11th, 2001 couldn’t happen here, but it did.” And it could be repeated.
As per usual, the Democrat Party has taken an almost united stance of support on the issue of Imam Rauf’s obsession with building his 15 story, $100,000,000 mosque-cultural center-gymnasium-restaurant-fun place massage parlor near the hallowed site of Ground Zero.
Unlike Christians’ lack of rights to erect a cathedral, a church, even a chapel in Mecca and Medina, Rauf has every constitutional right to build his mosque and no American has disputed that right. Having a right and doing what’s right are vastly different, however.
Joining with the Islamic Raufians, the formerly-reputable Democrat Party has ironically discovered deep within its bowels a renewed, long-lost concern for religiosity and religious freedom and the First Amendment.
Democrats have condemned those who oppose Rauf’s project as bigoted, racist, un-Americans for seeking to deny Rauf’s grand scheme to trumpet Islam’s triumph of nine years ago by building a garish monument to Islam’s greatest victory over the infidel Christians since Saladin captured Jerusalem in A.D. 1187. . .
