On his brief holiday in Panama City, President Obama did, indeed, take a swim in the Gulf of Mexico.
The White House released the above photo today, showing the president and first daughter Sasha in the water at Alligator Point in Panama City Beach. Reporters and photographers were not allowed to capture the moment independently; Obama earlier told the press pool he did not want to be seen with his shirt off again.
The trip to Florida today was intended to show Obama was practicing what he preached, in urging Americans to visit Gulf of Mexico destinations despite the impact of the BP oil spill. The short nature of the visit -- just over 24 hours total -- has led some to criticize it as an empty photo op, since the First Family is sticking with plans for a much longer trip to Martha's Vineyard.
Obama earlier spoke of the progress in recovery from the spill, with efforts to cap the well finally successful.
"We mark an important milestone. But this is not the end of the journey," he said.

Ugh get to work you moron!!!

Just why does he absolutely need to vacation in the Gulf? I sure wouldn't! Not because of the oil I just don't like Ocean water, nor the sand nor the intense heat. For me Martha's Vineyard would always be the better choice.
For those that are complaining about it, YOU go there.

That appears to be much more than a photo op, but you, ideologically-blinded critics, will twist it to your pathetic needs, more name-calling, unfounded criticism and, of President Obama bashing!! It looks to me, like our President and his daughter, Sasha, are having fun and that, in spite in of the nitpickings of the Republican-Libertarian-T.Baggers' "...nattering nabobs of negativism ", in the words of one of their more infamous leaders.
Get a life and allow President Obama some time with his own family or is that part of the Republican-Libertarian-T.Baggers' agenda, for the mid-term elections!!? To harass and hound our President and his family!!? How pathetic!
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, BRING THEM HOME, ALIVE AND WHOLE. NOW.

This guy is a real piece of work. He really thinks he's a rock star. Maybe he should resign and go out to his bootlickers and other lowlifes in Jollywood. I would hope people would see through this last trip to Florida for what it is, another "photo op".

Obama swims!
In real news, the unemployment rate jumped again, housing starts are down, the economy's tanking all over, Obama's poll ratings are falling faster than the Cubs.....
But The Swamp writers prefer to run a PR photo of Obama, furnished them by the White House.
No wonder the latest Gallup Poll shows that the public's trust in newspapers is at an all-time low.

Here's what happens when the Obama-friendly journalists at the Swamp regurgitate White House press releases without doing any legwork of their own. From yahoo news/AP, under the headline "Obama DOESN'T swim in Gulf":
"The president's dip happened away from the media. The White House released an official photo, but The Associated Press does not publish such handout images. According to the White House, the Obamas swam off Alligator Point, which is in Saint Andrew Bay, not the Gulf."

Wasn't really the Gulf, which was closed for riptides. He was in a bay. Nothing more than a photo op.

PFUTZ,
This is where I will agree with you and disagree with Libtard. Let him have his vacation. Let him do this for all 365 days of the year. The more he is doing this, the less he is screwing up the country.

All of you right wingnut tards won't be happy until he buys a ranch and goes there to clear brush, just like your poser idols Ronnie Raygun and Shrub.

Paulo----
Don't forget the President is Head of
State in addition to his other titles....
Part of the job description IS creating photo ops.
In this case, to help the resort industry down in the Gulf of Oil to persuade folk not to cancel their reservations.
I'm sure the President would rather be swimming somewhere else than the polluted Gulf waters....
But he manages to make it look fun.
For the benefit of a lot of business owners who probably didn't vote for him in the first place.

You'd think the way the media treats its Messiah, they didn't have a picture of him walking on water?

The Swamp should run the more appropriate photo from this trip: Obama dragging his teleprompter along.

Um, Phil, Martha's Vineyard is an island. Surrounded by water. And beaches. With sand.
And I would LOVE to take a nice vacation on the gulf. But who could afford it? That's kinda the point of all the complaints.

Dear Republican echo chamber,
Where were your annoying posts when Dubya took the most vacation days ever for a President? Not there. Hypocrites. Flip floppers.
Oh yeah, Libtard. Nice name. It must make you feel like a big man to make fun of developmentally challenged people. I pity you.

Way to Go President Obama.
Don't sweat the Nay Sayers. They will always have their negative remarks.
